  1. Yep, got it. Add it to FSX's root, and balamm, it sure makes FSX damn good. Thanks guys. I'm glad I finally decided to try it.
  2. Yeah, thanks guys guys. I went asking around and got beat-up at the P3D forum. haha. But it's all good. I just want to learn and discover the differences. Though P3D appears to be a more robust platform, I have come to the conclusion that now is NOT the time to move to P3D...I am honestly not convinced. Heck, I got my 2700K to 5.0Ghz 2 weeks ago. And, got one of the latest GPU, and I'm enjoying DX-10 and my sim like I never imagined possible.
  3. Thanks will. Believe me I would not be here if weren't interested. I'm here cause I want to weigh my options. Heck, the biggest problem we all met with FSX was performance. If P3D uses all cores, gives eye-candy, and supports SLI, then heck why would I wait. However, I need to do my research, and ask, and request good examples. Honestly, someone has discouraged me, and others have encourage me. I'll wait, but maybe not for too long. Anyway, good discussion. Now, if you'll all excuse me, I need to go tweak my PSU (ok, that's not tweak-a-ble)
  4. hahaha, you bet ya I won't argue with you. (now tjhis is the third time I've said it). What you mean by: "whomver you are"? Are you trying to argue with me on whom am I? LoL Hey, you never know... Keep trying I might switch by next week. But, here's the thing: I hope when the time comes asking questions you reply with the same eagerness to help..WILL YOU ? jeje
  5. No need to get that excited. Everyone has their opinion and everyone is entitled to do their research and then decide what fits them best. Relax, man. It's not like I'm invoking you to launch off a building. Easy, easy...relax. As far as asking the topic in both forums? It's called diversity- Relax, relax... I will not engage in argument with you. Won't bite.
  6. Ikes, yeah I don't want to have 2 sims to deal with. Nahhhh. I did it for a couple of months back with 2004 to FSX and I didn't enjoy it. I'm pretty sure I'll move to P3D some day- but now is def not the time. Yeah, I have all PMDGs except the prop, and enjoy them all as I do with AXE and others. So definitely would need my high-end add-ons to work there as well. Thank you for your input! Yep, I agree. Appreciate your info, as well. I will take your advice.
  7. Nope- it does not 'fit my agenda." I only need precise good and direct info which will assist me in making an intelligent decision. If you bring me a screen-shot with cloud shadows, a light airplane, and poor terrain LOD, it will not help me. But the clouds and shadows look pretty.. so smile. By-the-way, your fuel is too high. if you need to land fast, you'll blow your tyres. (ok, just giving you a hard time) lol
  8. Ahh ok...That's good to know. Ohh, Rob. You're trying to engage me in an argument. I won't. My topic is not about what you mention or assume.. Please keep in mind those are only YOUR assumptions, My desire is to get a much better sim than FSX-Dx10. However, before I make the move I'm doing my homework (or research). You have enthusiastically expressed how much you love P3D- that is fine. Remember, you and I are different and my expectations could well be beyond your expectations. Now, regarding water animation. Yes, I also have water animation at water level. that's as easy as ABC. But, I'm referring to animation (movement) at higher than water level, altitudes. CPU and DX-10: Yes, that's where I am with configuring and tweaking. And, if you recall, we'ved come a very looong way tweaking with FSX, thus I ask about P3D, if it's solid or if it requires fixing here, fixing there, with a teak, tweak here....with a tweak, tweak there; everywhere a tweak, tweak. (see we almost have to sing this tweaking thing) lol So, if moving to another sim will require a bunch of tweaking and fixing and repairing , to get 2 fps more? Nahhhh, USELESS. This is why I'm researching. I'm telling you guys. This guy has some brains! Thanks again, sir ! This type of info is what I'm looking for.. real, genuine, direct- not fanny, nor attacking. This is good info. Thank you, sir! Much appreciated!
  9. Thanks, Rob. I think for now (only for now), and considering the massive amount of money, configuring, eye candy, and performance, I have with Dx-10, is more than enough to NOT make the move..Not now! It would honestly be useless for me. Trust me. However, everyone's input has been helpful to make this determination. Trust me, my post is not about mine is better than yours or so on.. No! I am very high on having the latest and the greatest. But, if the latest will not be a huge benefit, then why get it. So, for me it would be best to remain where I am. Same with CPU. I have my Intel 2700K running @ 5.0Ghz., stable. This thing munches at everything you throw at it in ways I never dreamed of...why move to another CPU that will only give me 2fps more? USELESS...However, I would move to one that would give me 10fps more - now that would be beneficial...See my point? So, I'm sure with time will get there, for now I'm as happy as a child with new toy-- with my DX-10. Like many of you I've come a long way. Spent well over $12,000 (or more) in building and configuring 3 generations of Flight Simulation PCs with time. And, though I have the money, it would NOT be enjoyable for me to jump to the "Next big thing" if there's no BIG improvement.
  10. Thank you...I would definitely like to try it. The thing is that I have sensed I will need tweaking and tweaking and fixing here and fixing there..Plus pay a monthly fee? , (in the past 5 years I've had enough tweaking with FSX), that's why I haven't done it. So, I am looking for those who use it to "convince" me. Honestly so far, I'm not. I guess I'll have to wait a few years until there's stronger positives than my current DX-10 @ 5.0Ghz, averaging 26fps on very heavy scenery and a/c- and Sweet Fx, ASN, REX, ORBX, and you name it!
  11. Great, thank you- this helps.
  12. Your recommendation is is inviting !
  13. Ahhhh, hard to find these types of rational comments. Hard to find, hard to fine. Thank you, sir!
  14. Darn it- Now YOU sound genuine ! Thank you.
  15. Rob thank you for the videos. I wish I could see a 737 or AXE in this environment, instead of small a/c Also, I notice there is no water animation.. But thanks. Anyways, still gives me an idea, and from seeing that.... my FSX ruining @ 5.0Gz including tons of add-ons, and DX-10, honestly looks and performs much better...and using high-end a/c and scenery. Don't feel bad, but that's what I'm getting at: "Why move to P3D? Maybe not now--- Maybe, in 3 years or 2 years time.
  16. I guess what I would like to see is direct and clear explanations as to why (in what ways and examples), P3D would be (or is), better than FSX. For instance, we test CPUs, GPUs, RAM, etc, etc. And we can clearly tell this CPU is better than that CPU. So far I haven't seen a prove of results of any tests comparing both sims where we can say: "Oh yeah, check this out, this has more horsepower than that, or look, using the exact same add-ons, at the same time in the sim, and the exact same amount of scenery, P3D get's 10 fps more than FSX." We've talked for ages about not looking at the fps numbers; however, that is there for a reason.. It is a measurement of frames per second. And we know that the less frames-per-second, the less fluid the graphics are. Just as in a vehicle with a speedometer, or an airplane with a speed-flight gauge, etc. You don't get in your car, cover the speedometer and say: "Oh hello, hello my dear folks, I will now drive and if I don't feeeel I'm going fast enough , then I'm not, or if I don't see the tree going by me fast enough, then I'll just keep pressing the gas pedal." NO! So, I guess it would be proof to be able to test both sims with the Exact hardware, software, settings, and add-ons. Then, compare how each perform. Has anyone in our sim world done that? Or are going to keep saying: " My car is faster than yours."
  17. David, I don't think it's necessary for you to become offensive with your graphics. The OP is only seeking to understand why would it be viable moving to P3D. Instead of you explaining why you think it's better (examples), you decided to post a picture of garbage? I'm sure the moderators are seeing your behavior. comprendes?
  18. Nope, no need to imagine "trolling". Remember it is two different forums, two different audiences.
  19. I have recently been visiting this forum and the FSX forums, and there's one thing in common that I have noticed. I was hopping P3D would be much better than FSX ; however it disappoints me to go back and forth between forums and see the same topics: errors, crashes, graphics, fps, problems here- problems there, tweaks here, teaks there. So, what's the point of moving to P3D if it's the same product with just a little bit of make-up? I'm disappointed.
  20. Now I'm all confused as to why stay or leave, or move... moving to P3D. I keep going back and forth between forums of FSX and P3D, and I keep seeing almost the same pattern- tweaks here and there, problems here and there. So, what's the point of moving to P3D ? And, is it true that P3D is the same FSX with a "facelift?" As you can see I'm all confused. With the tons of extraordinary add ons, and my processor holding at 5.0Ghz, I am so happy that I don't see how it could be better. (Or, maybe I just don't know).
  21. Agree, these types of comments should be deleted and not allow these types if people be in this community.
  22. Sweet FX ? Sweeeeeeeeeeet ! I'll look into it. Does requires manual installations or does it has a installer?
  23. James: Wing Flex is when about 9o% of the wing on large a/c will bend up once the airplane is off the ground. This flex bend is design so the wing can maintain it's strength without breaking. A wing bounce is generally small jerky one- after-the- other up and down movements, which will be more noticeable at the far end of the wing, during taxing and/ or during turbulence. On both actions the effect will be more noticeable on larger a/c which have large wings, thus the effect is more pronounced. Weight will also increase the "bending" or "flexing" of the wing; thus the term wing flex...meaning it has the ability to bend up or down, without breaking.
  24. Hello everyone, (1) Thought I would ask this before I break a rock with my forehead. So this has been intriguing for some time now. Why is it that my FSX will not retain the same brightness and colors as my desktop or websites, or any other application? As soon as I fly, the entire graphics becomes more dull and less colors. Is there a way within FSX CFG too adjust the colors strength or brightness to remain the same? I have a stable 2700k @ 5.0Ghz ,1866 Ram, ASN, FSX with DX-10 (Steve's fix), Nvidia 670 Card. I have adjusted my monitor brightness and colors in every setting possible, also have with 32 bit colors set. I have also disabled "adaptive brightness" service with Windows. I don't know if there's even an application out there that would modify light and color intensity within FSX DX-10... Or, as I within FSX CFG. (2) I have not join REX website yet to ask this; Maybe someone in this community knows. I have REX Essentials Plus and REX 4 Direct. I have both installed; but my questions is which of the two is the one that my FSX would use for textures and settings? If I have both installed which one is FSX going by? (like texture and cloud resolution, etc). See, when I got REX 4, I thought it was a totally new software above REX Essential PLUS, but came to find out you can use both. I was already happy with REX Essentials (Has more than enough options- way more than REX4 ) , and feel that I wasted money on REX 4. Unless, I haven't learned to use them... Your input would help.
