  1. As Mace said. Should be even better. I'd argue that their old FSX planes are on par with Blackbird, let alone whatever they can do in MSFS (which judging by their press, is significantly more). Honestly, like I said, it was hard to fly anything but A2A in FSX for GA, once you'd flown one it was hard to go back to other planes. This should hopefully blow us away. It'll be a day one purchase for me, and I pretty much never do that normally - that's how much faith I have.
  2. Excited for this, but also expecting it to be expensive. Probably worth it though, as I found it difficult to fly anything but A2A in FSX. As he says; real = fun.
  3. Yup, I have an entry level i5 and a 2060. Pretty average compared to some of the monsters people in here have bought. And tbh it runs great! Have a mix of settings, from medium to ultra and it never skips a beat. Almost always smooth, and it looks incredible (I honestly struggle to see the difference when I just throw everything on ultra).
  4. Well, I flew it last night. In terms of systems simulation, I would have said they appear to be about the same though the P-40 does have persistent maintenance, which is nice. Modeling is pretty high quality on both and I like how iniBuilds allows you to remove the cowling to see the engine, as well as show baggage and tie downs. FlyingIron seems to have the better textures though, and they are miles ahead in terms of sound quality - it is really night and day on that part, which is a bit of a shame because the sound of warbirds is one of their biggest attractions imo. FlyingIron seem to have captured all the depth and nuances, whereas the P40 sounds a little flat to me, and in startup for example, I can hear where they've faded the startup sound into the running sound - it's a bit meh. But yeah, for the price it was, I'm very happy with it, and no doubt it will continue to improve.
  5. I'm not expecting FlyingIron quality from the get go, but iniBuilds seem competent so I'm sure it'll be good and only get better. Look forward to trying it this evening.
  6. Annoying I have to use yet another install manager, but too good of a deal to pass up. Love Warbirds!
  7. Maybe. Cities in general just seem too dark to me, especially the skyscrapers. True, but Orbx doesn't have everything the marketplace does. Each to their own.
  8. MSFS is so dark at night over urban areas. American cities look more like Soviet cities trying to conserve power.
  9. The marketplace helps fund continued development so don't feel too bad. I'm the same way. Buy from marketplace just to make everything simple. Yeah, you have to wait a bit longer, but still plenty to do meanwhile. Patience is a virtue.
  10. So no then, which seems a shame given that even freeware modders have been doing it. I don't want to take away from GotFriends, as they seem like a great bunch of peeps and looks like they have packed a lot into it, but I would like my GA aircraft at that sort of price to at least have state saving and maintenance.
  11. PayPal is dangerous too. Make sure you have MFA turned on utilising an app. My mate had MFA turned on using SMS message and still got hacked. PayPal hacks have been on the rise recently.
  12. Looks great, but steep price imo. Does it have state saving or maintenance? I don't need a virtual guitar or hammock. The paddle is a cool idea though. Probably be one to add to my wishlist and keep an eye out for a sale.
  13. Yeah thanks, I have it, but it's nowhere near the same level of detail (which is fair enough, it is free after all).
  14. A2A Civilian Mustang and Aerosoft PBY Catalina. Loved the hands on management that these vintage planes brought. I haven't yet experienced that level of fidelity on a GA plane in MSFS, but tbh, I have yet to try some of the more expensive GA planes like the 310R and 414 (they aren't really vintage enough for me).
  15. I remember a controller on VATSIM saying that he knew a lot of people didn't really know how to fly because whenever he would request the pilot deviate from their filed flight plan many would just simply log off.
  16. No way should your temps be closing in on 100C with AIO liquid cooling.
  17. 2-3hrs most evenings. I try to fit in at least a couple of flights if possible.
  18. Touch wood I've had no issues with the Marketplace as of yet (using Steam version).
  19. Because we still live in an age where most people really don't give a toss about energy efficiency. I do the same as you when pausing for a bit. Sometimes I think of all the people leaving their long haul flight running while they are afk - I'm sure Asobo could introduce some sort of low power mode for these peeps to switch to when afk. I did hear that running in windowed mode and minimizing reduces cpu/gpu usage, so that might be an option for afk pilots. But a lot of people don't seem to think twice about drawing 600w+ for hours on end while they're not even at the computer so who knows...
  20. Does it improve the interactivity of the aircraft model? In other words, do the doors open?
  21. Those are single turboprops. Any decent twin turboprops? What about the BN2 Islander from Blackbox? I was looking at that thinking it might make a worthwhile Twotter replacement.
  22. I've had it on for ages now. I hated how resource heavy the damned menu was. Some of us care about energy efficiency. I wish there was an even lower power mode for when downloading in content manager though.
  23. I've also noticed my Goose doesn't have any water reflections too, so that's annoying. Looks odd sitting on the water with no reflection beneath it.
