    The good thing is that your issue was resolved in a civil manner with all parties responding to each other in a polite and understanding way. So much better than the bad tempered and impolite rants we occasionally see. By the way Pete, I use a neat little utility called 'Everything' to find stuff in my pc. Here is the link....

    Hi There. This option may not appeal to you, but if you have an android tablet, you may wish to look at a free software called Matric. The software runs on your pc and the 'slaved' android tablet shows 'Decks' that contain 'Pages'. These pages have a selection of graphical switches and buttons that operate the switches and buttons in your cockpit. The graphics show a toggled state which is quite cool. There are various Decks available from the Matric site and you can also make your own by interchanging various switches etc. on the tablet.

    I quite like it. I have a tablet sitting at the side of my main monitor and just tap the tablet with a wand to operate the cockpit switches and buttons. I realise that it does not answer your question regarding using your keyboard but it's another option.

    Speaking of splash screen startup images...Does anyone know where the current World Update screen city is? The one with the red bridge and what looks like an island in the distance. It must be somewhere in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and I think the other one is Andorra!! Apologies for my senior moment and lack of memory. Pun intended LOL. Apologies also to the OP for the slight hijack of the thread.

    A few weeks back my flying buddy and I landed at an airport in Italy. He asked if it was possible to have a look around from outside. I showed him the Developer Camera and we promptly went outside for a look around. This was at night and as I panned around and looked at the night sky I was astonished to see the constellation of Orion displayed overhead. I had a closer look and then found the Pleiades also. It is amazing to see such a level of detail in a sim.

    HI Guys.Thanks for all the info. I appreciate your input. I'm trying to get to grips with the PROCS so that I can show my flying buddy how to do it. The blind leading the blind comes to mind LOL. My plan is to fly the ORI1W departure out of LSZA rwy 01 then go for a jolly round the lakes then go Direct To SRN for the SRN6L arrival and then the IGS01 approach. I have until Friday evening to get the hang of it. If I can't then we will just go VFR round the lakes. The Departure works a treat, so that's something.

    Can I load all of the procedures into the box whilst still on the ground at LSZA? Would that constitute a proper flight plan for the G1000 to follow sequentially? So much to learn!! I'll try it all again this evening and report back.

    Hello again Bert.

    Short answer is no. I could not get the Direct To function to cancel. I was simply trying out the various functions. I'll have another try this evening and take more notes. Do you know if it is possible to cancel a Direct To? If so, how is it done?

    Hi Folks. I mainly fly vfr with the CIX VFR club but am trying to get my head around the PROCS of the G1000. Here's what I'm trying to do. I am currently in Lugano exploring the Italian lakes VFR. I decided to try a spot of IFR on my flight back to Lugano LSZA. I decided that the SRN6L arrival was good to try given my current position at the time. I then went DIRECT TO the SRN vor as it is the Initial fix for that arrival. I then intended to make use of the IGS 01 approach into runway 01.

    My problem is my lack of knowledge of the G1000. I could see the proper data blocks at the top of the PFD and was showing Direct to SRN in the MFD, however, I could not cancel the Direct To in order to start the Arrival. I could LOAD the arrival but I was expecting to see an option to Activate it when required. That option was not showing.

    Would someone very kindly point me to a decent tutorial please. I have watched various YT videos but none of them showed what I was wanting to do. I've also looked at the Garmin G1000 manual but I can't get my head around what the manual says and what is happening in the sim G1000. It would be great also if someone could do a step by step reply to me. I'm sure it will be a straightforward procedure (no pun intended) but at the moment I'm a bit befuddled as to the correct sequence.

    Use the TDS GTN for analogue planes (or planes with the G3X) - I know nothing is here quite yet but there are at least 6 separate products which will feature it nearly complete.  And then potentially Carenado or user mods hehe. 😉

    Hi Ryan and Bert. You are correct of course. My initial thought was for the default Baron G58 that I currently fly with the WT NXi. There are, of course, aircraft like the C172 where the 750 would be a natural fit for GA. Things are happening so fast now with the sim. It's wonderful. Thanks for your input.

BTW, my wife and I visited San Francisco as part of our Golden wedding celebration back in 2019. We loved it apart from the hills...LOL.

    Hi James.

    I tried that also by changing the 1 in the appropriate line to a 0 but the guy was still there. That's why I had to search a bit deeper for my answer. However, it may not be the best solution according to previous replies. It may be better to wait for an official proper solution. The thing is, the folks at Asobo may like having the small pushback in place. Who knows?

    Hi Folks.

    I have noticed a few people wishing to get rid of the Pushback guy, you know the one. The expensive guy that your local GA field makes you use and then slips you a bill at the end of the month!! I have a way to make him go away and not bother you anymore.

    First though, the DISCLAIMER. I am not a techie but I have used this method for other stuff over the years and it seems to work just fine. However, it is up to you if you wish to try my method. I was half expecting a CTD but no, the sim loaded and the pushback guy was gone.

    Here is what I did.... Navigate to your Official folder. Then go here....\OneStore\Asobo-services\AirportServices\Shared\Asobo Pushback    inside that folder you should see two .spb files. One is called Pushback and the other SmallPushback. Put two or three x's in front of the SmallPushback to prevent it being read by the sim. It worked for me. No more pushback guy and no more (virtual) bills at the end of the month LOL. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

    Hello Ryan. I would doubt that as he is not very techie. If anything it would be the original default G1000. We only installed the WT NXi last evening from the Marketplace. I can check that out though next Thursday evening when we get together again.
