  1. Hi iFlyers, ..... No, the NG/MAX is not compatible with Prepar3D v6. It requires a rework of the model, textures, effects, gauge displays, PBR and more. We are currently in development with the MAX for MSFS 2020, as you are aware, that is our main focus now. We plan to make the NG/MAX compatible with v6 but MSFS 2020 takes precedence. We cannot provide a timeline for the P3D v6 compatibility or if this would be a paid upgrade at this time. This has me slightly "concerned". Back compatibility is not a given and this is a stark reminder. If the Max is not compatible (it is a new product), a lot of other addons, some of which might be older, won't be compatible, for sure. I have no info, but surely, if the IFly Max is not compatible, then the PMDG or QW aircraft and others won't be compatible. Similar to other devs, he clearly states P3D is now at the bottom of their to do list.... The amount of work he quotes is worrying, it seems to be a lot of stuff. Will it take too much time/too many resources to do the update along with the work they do for the MSFS version? We may simply have to wait until after the MSFS Max version is released to see the Max in v6. How long it will be is anyone's guess....A paid upgrade is likely. This might be what happens as well with other devs: we may have to wait and then pay. Without any of the current addons, it pains me to say P3D v6 in itself is useless, let's be honest. Nobody is using P3D as it is....
  2. Good point... maybe in the next few days, who knows? Better late than never. I have an idea as to why this is, but I will leave it there.
  3. This thread (on the P3D forum) is about announcing v6 and it is already turning into a comparison with MSFS and how good MSFS is and will always be. How dare we discuss P3D and challenge MSFS (even a little bit)? Also...so many people already saying v6 is rubbish...Are you MSFS fan boys or have you tried v6? What are you doing here on the P3D forum anyway? Are we still allowed to have the right and freedom to like or be interested in P3D? Last messages are now turning to the topic of devs and the fact they won't do any work on v6 (if required). Hopefully there won't be compatibility issues and we can transition to v6 easily. If the devs refuse to do any compatibility/update work, then you know where you stand....(I will be done with all of them as far as I am concerned) Gosh.... v6 is not even released and is already dead in the eyes of so many...
  4. I agree. I don't understand how they can justify selling scenery 15 Dollars+ when the product is not up to date/is very old and they don't offer support anymore. Devs (and a lot of people) say P3D is dead and sales are abysmal, yet they feel they can still charge ridiculous amounts of money for an old, unsupported product. This I will never understand. However I am sure they feel they can get away with it because their product are, in a way, unique.... Well...I won't be fooled.
  5. Sorry to re-activate this thread.... Can you please confirm the exact steps/things to do to rectify the issue please? Thank you
  6. Hello,I currently have 2 1080p 60Hz monitors in a dual monitor setup and it works very well. It is very easy to move from one monitor to the other and there are no issues whatsoever.I am now thinking of getting a new monitor and going down the 1440p route. Is it possible to have a dual monitor set up with a 1440p 60Hz monitor and a 1080p 60Hz monitor? Will it work OK given the monitors have different resolutions? The plan is to have the 1440p monitor display P3D or MSFS Full Screen and the 1080p monitor display other addons like VPilot or the Aivlasoft EFB, PDF documents, chat, OBS, Discord, etc... I am NOT looking at extending the sim display on both monitors at the same time. Will it cause any performance issues or any general issues? What about having the game in Full Screen on the 1440p monitor? Any issues to move the mouse from one monitor to the other? For info, I have a RTX3070.Thank you very much for your insight.
  7. Thanks for the replies. Anybody else please using Windows 7? Regarding Windows 10, I am a bit unsure about transitioning to it, we all know the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". My PC originally came with Windows 7, it still works well for flight simulation and I don't want to mess things up just to get one add on!
  8. Sorry if this has been done before, I surprisingly did not find many references. As the title says, is the latest NGXu working with Windows 7? I have read PMDG requirements, it is not clear. I don't want to purchase it to find out it is not working. Anybody out there who has the 737 NGXu with Windows 7? Any issues? Is it working ok? 2nd question: will it work ok with an i7-4790k and a GTX 1660Ti? Thank you. Fred Naveau.
  9. Hello, Sorry if this has been asked before. I am contemplating upgrading my GPU from a GTX 960 to a GTX 1060 (possibly more) to improve the overall usability of P3D V4.4. At the moment, it works ok, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I was wondering whether a GTX 1060 will improve things significantly (or just a little) and whether it will work nicely with a i7-4790k CPU? Thanks for sharing your feedback.
  10. I will second Jim... ADE is the software to be used. However, creating an airport which does not exist is quite a complex process if you are not familiar with ADE. Good luck!
  11. Hi guys, I thought I would share my latest video with you, a 777 startup tutorial. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Enjoy!
  12. After landing, if the taxiways are wet or it is raining, snowing, etc....and cold obviously, then you keep the engine anti ice on all the way back to the gate. If you deice/anti ice on a remote pad with engines running, you would taxi there with the engine anti ice on, and keep the switch on during the de/anti ice treatment.
  13. If it is cold, but the weather is clear, no precipitation and the runway is dry, then you don't need to use the engine anti ice on the ground or for take off. Be careful with wing anti ice..... On the B777, you do not use wing anti ice on the ground or for take off, for example.
  14. As far as I know, no brake check on the 737, at least I never did one....you would realise while taxiing out if your brakes did not work.
  15. Bluestar, that would have been good fun, wow...! Fantastic! This is an approach I would have liked to fly. Obviously, it is no longer possible...
  16. LOL, I also did it at night, have a look until the very end (last couple of minutes).... It is quite nice at night too, with all the lights and textures.
  17. Too many complex addons will slow FSX significantly, but if you keep it relatively simple, then, with a good PC, it works well. I am often asked if my sim is FSX or something else, it goes to show that FSX works and looks good, still...
  18. Hi Guys, If I may, this is my take on the famous IGS approach runway 13 in Kai Tak. I hope you like it. Enjoy! Thank you.
  19. Hi guys, A suggestion from one of the channel followers.... Enjoy!
  20. Thank you, I'm glad you like the videos. I invite you to have a look around at the channel. Enjoy!
  21. Hi guys, The latest video, today we are in beautiful Africa. Great views and bonus footage at the end. Enjoy!
  22. The answer to the OP's question is simply no. However, the simulation is so good that it will give you an overall overview of the flight deck layout, of the autopilot functions, the FMC, etc... But it won't help "feeling" in control of a real 350t 777.....
  23. For further info, the 777 can indeed do an autoland with 1 or 2 engines, flaps 20 or 30. Although flaps 25 is a landing flap setting, you can't do an autoland withflaps 25. Unless in an emergency, it is also not certified to do autolands when overweight. The 737 cannot do an autoland on one engine....also, it is not possible to use the autothrottle when flying on one engine...
