  1. Ok..got a couple of replies.thank you.!..

I was successful in achieving the faster sim rate(16x) to fly long and/or short to medium distance early in the installation..granted I've added some payware scenery, but no payware aircraft

I've added AI Aircraft but not a massive amount..I was hoping this set up w/I7-7700K GTX 1070 without overclocking would allow FSX and or FSX-Steam to process..lots of "info" to run nice and smooth even w/16x simulation rate..((impatient I suppose, fly to London relatively quick..then fly other places in "my timely manner"))

I'm happy w/my purchase..of my pc..and happy with FSX-Steam...just curious to see..if Steam vs Box version (which allowed the 16x without much issue) was comparable..and since I am having issue with a 16x sim rate..in Steam.I was hoping to get a trick..to remedy..it....

Thanks for the advice.from my fellow simmers!

    respectfully,

    Chris

  2. hello folks,

Got a brand "spanking new" I7-7700K GTX-1070 Nividia Card and installed FSX-Steam

Initially, all seemed really nice..! I set framerate at 35 just to get an idea and after adding AI and some sceneries..i was still successful..then returning to FSX-Steam next day

I'd climb out of any airport.then switch to 16x simulation rate and the FPS went from 35..to 0.1...and would fluctuate..up to 1.1.(basically just stopped in midair) and never regained a 35...

Got any tips?  is there a workaround..?

    Your input appreciated.!

  3. Glad you posted this...i'm getting ready for the new gaming pc..myself..and have my box version as well...also have the FSX-Steam but it just wouldn't do the trick..on my I3-3220..

Yes..i'll catch up..soon.....i've long for better FPS..and fluidity..within the game....hope the new pc..can handle it...

    Thanks again for posting...

  4. Folks,

My AI Aircraft DJC airbuses (A319,A320,A318) are parked at GATE and noticed just now..they begin to slowly spin  away from the jetway in a circle fashion..

the links are aligned to a taxiway correctly..via the ADE current version...these aircraft just start moving..in a circle as if trying to leave..but departure time..is in sleep mode..

    Need some tips..on causes...and if a remedy...could be offered...

(Scratching my head again...needing some help)

    Regards,

    Chris

  5. Great comments and tips...and you all reaffirmed..that my current system..may need upgrading..and I agree..the 3.3ghz I have runs the FSX Deluxe\Acceleration version fairly well..(always could be better)

..it's the FSX-SE that I was hoping to get at least the same..one item that DaveCT2003 mentioned were the FSX-SE graphics settings...I attempted to mock...the FSX Deluxe\Acceleration

with same settings..but may have asked my PC too much to try and duplicate...I could lower those and see what it does...BUT...i need to start to pick up those "aluminum cans" on the side of the road

to go into my NEW PC FUND...(grinning a bit).

Thanks for the upfront tips...I'm hoping to try FSX-SE again...and Prepar3D also looks like a "Neato Mosquito!' but that's later...

    Respectfully,

    Chris

  6. For all the Steam users...may I ask if you are enjoying STEAM and what PC you have to make it enjoyable?

    I have a Gateway:

    I3-3220 Dual Core

    6GB DDR3 Memory

Intel HD Graphics:w/HDMI cable to monitor

    1TB Hard Drive

I have tried multiple times to use FSX-SE based on it's minimum pc requirements; however, was not able to enjoy a ["fluid" experience with MY current pc]*...I sought all the tips/tricks to get it going but as i added sceneries..FSDT for starters..with NO traffic and one lonely plane at the airport..the FPS...was horrific....

I am not scolding Dovetail or developers...it's a great product...i'm sure..for pc's other than mine..

*[Fluid Experience:=How i long for the day...to fly FSX or FSX-SE or PD3 with smooth FPS with no noticeable studders...CAN I GET THERE-SIMMER FAMILY?

    Respectfully,

    Chris

  7. Well..i'm still stumped...the FX-IAD airport..i recently downloaded..was placed in Add-on scenery\Scenery: KIAD_CW_RS_bgl+KIAD_CVX.bgl.

    Loaded FSX all scenery posting.

All i wanted to change were airline assignments at the gate..did a few..then compiled the airport as is: KIAD_CW_RS.bgl saved the airport and reloaded FSX...some of the stock items:

jetway.bgl (looks like a flat roofed glass building small jetway size i suppose) plus ramp lighting ((note: all these showed the yellow boxes on the layout in ADE..)) Did not post...! now my new airline assignments were accurate..but what this bgl..does..is knocks out..stock scenery..that posted just fine..when initially loaded.

I even attempted to compile outside the sim..and place it back in...no show stock items again.

I even attempted to rename..the KIAD_CW_RS.bgl..to KIAD_ADEX_bgl...still no show stock items..

There has got to be a trick of the trade..to allow the changes..but without..messing up the scenery..that posts fine..when first loaded...

I have made sure the ADE has the objects..in Library Object Manager...it shows me those yellow boxes..on the layout..but just doesn't post the scenery..when i'm ready to fly out of KIAD

Use to...i had no issue..with changing gate assignments..and compiling.

I'm doing something wrong..can't figure it out.

    thanks for checking the post,

    Chris

  8. Folks,

I'm sure this topic is out there..but can't locate a solution.

I normally change GATE Assignments to earlier retro airlines..at the freeware airports offered in Avsim..etc...

I use the Library Object Manager (Airport Design Editor version. 1.55###) to import objects on my list...

I see a STOCK ITEM name:jetway..that appears as yellow box..on the airport layout..yet when finish compiling this airport (I used the same bgl..just overrite it) and begin

my push back...these items...are NO SHOWS at the airport...

What am I doing wrong?  (note: new gate assignments work fine..its just that stock items named jetway.(looks like a long low roofed building) do not appear...

Any tips or help always appreciated,

    many many thanks..

    Chris

  9. Thanks for that tip..what I saw in my HKEY_CURRENT_USER's tree under the Software section were a Path for Microsoft FSX AND Microsoft FSX Steam (I had uninstalled the Steam program earlier.. after..i piddled with the Steam\steamapps\common\FSX and experimented with moving that to D\drive..[.boy did i muddy the water.]   Then was thinking i just start over..and get my boxed version fine tuned..and perhaps try FSX Steam later..but when i executed the FX FiberAccelerator..that Unhandled Exception message popped-up..until you helped me figure out where the problem..was..

All is working now...i have not altered...anything in the tree..other than rename..that AppPath..for the FSX Steam..(AppPathback)

I sure thank you...for helping me keep it going!

    Chris

  10. EUREKA!!!!!!  Happy Dancing! FX Accelerator..back in business...(reactivated serial number etc..and is working just fine)

    NO UNHANDLED EXCEPTION appeared...!

I hunted and hunted..and located the culprit..in the Registry Keys...as you suggested..i overlooked it probably..10 times...until it was caught...

I just renamed the AppPath to Apppathback..too scared to delete...LOL....

So grateful...for the expertise..and help...makes this old simmer...ready to fly! and enjoy it even more!

Could not make it without ya! (well...at least in simworld...

    So thankful,

    Sincerely,

    Chris

  11. It shows as follows:  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MICROSOFT GAMES\FLIGHT SIMULATOR-STEAM EDITION\10.0\(Default) REG_SZ (no value set) & AppPath  REG_SZ  D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX====That is where it's located..no references to FS Fiber Accelerator in this tree set...OR Dovetail..

Oooweee..getting closer to the solve..and yes...look at the above..and i'll get it gone...I should be ok...that's the only thing..the FSUIPC log found it and hopefully that's the fly in the ointment!

    Respectfully,

    Chris

  12. Ok..good news..i hope...i've located the Appath..to FSX-Steam D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX..in HKEY USERS...I don't even have Steam..on my PC..it's just in the registry..tree....

    I am so...jittery..on this stuff....Shall I delete..this appath!! at this locale???--------I don't even want to see...Steam...at the moment....anywhere on my PC...(but i'll give them a 2nd chance later) :-)

    I am assuming if deleted...my FS Fiber Accelerator..will find my fsx.cfg...in C:Drive..

Let me know...if i should just knock it out!

    Getting closer to resolve..i hope!

    Chris

  13. Thanks for the tips and instructions.....

I uninstalled the Fiber Accelerator..and reinstalled..unfortunately did not ask for the fsx.exe..

    It usually installs on C\Programx86\FSPS\FiberAccel...

Found in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE references to Dovetail..however no FSX\10 Install Path..just a "default" reference

MY current box version is set up properly according to REG KEY info...

Found NO STEAM reference at all...

And you are so right..Fiber Accelerator looking for the executable in D\Drive..but it's not there..

How can i configure Fiber Accelerator to look elsewhere for the correct FSX.exe..that's in Programfilex86/Microsoft\Microsoft Games\FSX etc....(Ugh...this wondrous technology) :-)

    Regards,

    Chris

  14. I sure thank you for your reply....

I was very careful..with Uninstalling Steam...w/exception of me trying to use..D:Drive as a stand alone with Steamapps/Common/FSX (my bad mistake)

I'll ck for Registry keys..and then i will see  if Steam support can assist..if push comes to shove!

    Respectfully,

    Chris

  15. Folks,

I'll be as brief as possible:

    A. I ran into some FS conflicts (my own stupidity) between Steam and my box version-so got "flabergasted" and started all over with box version first (Steam is pending)

    B. Box version up and running and wanted to run my FX Fiber Accelerator (nested in ProgamFilesx86) as I have always done..with box version just to squeeze a "weebit" more Frame rates with my FSDT sceneries and others.

        1. As FX Fiber Accelerator started to boot I got the ever familiar Net Framework pop up:  Unhandled exception in your application, If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to

run, If you click Quit the application will close etc. BUT there is more the pop up offered:  D\Steam\steamapps\FSX\\fsx.exe.

         2. FX Fiber Accelerator is looking for FS-Steam's executable in my D: drive (This is where I made the attempt to try Steam in different drive to see if it would provide better frame rate)

I transfered the steamapps\FSX\\fsx.exe also...and realized..not a real good idea in hindsight) (I removed it out of there)

    C.  My goal is to rid the pop-up and enjoy FX Fiber Accelerator ...the solution is  "Heck if I know" :-) I got myself into this mess...and hopefully my topic will trigger a thought..

          1. Should i attempt to place Steam back on D drive?

          2. I don't even see a Net Framework in my list of programs in Control Panel (Did those Redistributals C++ 2013 take care of that?)

          3. Attempted the Net Framework Clean up tool...Researched Forums: NO GOOD..(I was grabbing anything by this time...LOL)

D: Below are my pc specs: (Enjoying it for price I was able to afford..and FSX working nice...(yes had lots of backup files to re-enter)

         Gateway Windows 8.1

         Processor: Intel ® Core i3-3220 CPU@3.3Ghz

Installed Memory (RAM) 6.00 GB  5.87 usable

System type: 64bit Operating x64 based processor

    Need a GURU

    Respectfully,

    Chris (wounded simmer) (just kidding)

  16. Well..I knew my problem resolve was staring right at me!!!!!

I set the N1 settings manually..on my default 737-800 panel to rev up those engines..to get it to down the runway...

My normal "easy" flying..i just used the joysticks throttle lever to adjust speeds..thinking that's how these Project Airbus's would work...they were too slow..

but setting N1 to around 90...i have no issue now...

    thanks for helping charliearon..and hamoody!

Until i can't figure something out again...

    see in the forum!

    respectfully,

    Chris

  17. yes..other aircraft..do fine...no changes to my default flight..

I'll keep trying..to figure..why this A319 and the A321...won't get up to speed down the runway..for takeoff...

In review: I use the 737-800 default panel..tried to use..speeds the A318 had in the aircraft.cfg. (since it had no issue)

I bet the remedy..is staring right at me! knowing my luck..lol

    thank you (cross your fingers)
