  1. Hi everone,

I was searching for a sub-forum for ProAtc to post my problem, but couldnt find it so excuse me if I am posting in the wrong place.

My problem is that ProatcX sometimes gives me wrong instructions, like maintaining a high altitude during approach or sometimes follow different headings than the original route.

latest example was today in route from LHBP to LOWI, instructions were to maintain 13000ft until almost 15 nm from runway!

    needless to say...i crashed :)

Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  2. Bought ProatcX 3 days ago, I was also ATC-less and was getting board of erroneous fsx atc approaces and annoying voice. So far I can say that I am really pleased with proatc, the background atc chatter really gives it a whole new level or realism. appraches are dead on, and the voice is miles better than fsx. very easy to set up, and it also has a flight planner which is a plus. Have tried voxatc but really didnt like the interface, plus is didnt have a flight planner.

forgot to mention that it automatically imports the flight plan into fms, also a lovely feature is the copilot and checklists and the heading assisted guidance to runways and gates...simply love it

  3. Hi all, ever since I purchased FSX a year ago I have been running a goose chase to finally achieve a decent playable fps with addons that make this simulator seem realistic.

    Today, my rig specs are:

    Core i5 3570K overclocked to 4 ghz

    mobo Gigabyte Z77-DS3H

    Nivida GTX 760 2gb ram ddr5

    8 gb of RAM

    windows 7 64x

    Addons

    PMDG 737 ngx

    rex4 texture direct

    fscaptain

    Proatc-x

    Fs2crew

    sweetfx

    Some airports here and there

When on the air the fps is good, around 30-40 which is very acceptable, but on the ground it dips to 18-25, in VC, sometimes unplayable slideshow which really annoys me so much considering the amount of money I am throwing down this drain....

I have tried many of the tweaks suggested but no luck, so was just wondering how are you performing? just out of curiosity if someone with similar specs can give me an idea if that is acceptable, my system is outdated, I am too greedy, or am I doing something wrong!

  4. will have a look at active sky and cloud set, I also found that REX4 weather is coming out soon, I will go for the one with a reasonable price, hopefully wont be disappointed again.

Thanks a million guys, you have been of much more help than the official REX forums..cheers and big thumbs up!

  5. @mman thanks for the info, I thought I was doing something wrong with the settings, but it seems that without a weather engine, REX4 texture is useless and disappointing, oh well, you only learn after you pay :(

@Novation, this actually helps a bit, for an overcast weather its acceptable and looks more pleasing, but in fair weather with only few clouds, this popcorn formation raises my blood pressure. Thanks alot for your input!

looking for a weather engine now..hopefully that will solve the problem

  6. thank you both for your replies, unfortunately I have been trying to customize the cloud setting but its either too much clouds (overcast) or scattered popcorn like, but both look nothing like the real thing. I was really hoping this would have to work and look good without a weather engine, I could have bought the rex essential instead...I guess its my luck!

  7. Hi guy,

Just installed REX4 texture direct, and I was annoyed with the ugly scattered popcorn like clouds, eventhough all the settings are on max. I dont have a weather engine so I use the default FSX fair weather. Any help will be appreciated, how can I make those clouds look like the real thing, thats the reason I bought REX4. Thanks in advance, and happy holidays :)
