  1. Yes, I'm aware of that but, I would like to have the ability to cycle through the views with each press of a button then use the hat switch to pan the camera.
  2. Right now, I'm trying to get familiar with the operation of X-Plane using the demo until the full product arrives sometime this week. I have been trying to use the settings to get a button on my flight yoke to sort of advance from one view to the next like I could do in P3D and FSX and also get the hat switch to pan smoothly. For the life of me, my remaining brain cells can't seem to make the connections to figure it out. Anyone out there have the "simpleton method" on this? I could sure use it.
  3. So, flying is really interesting and fun and all that but, I find that when I start up P3D at my local airport (KRNO), my airplane is always sitting facing the airport building but, no passenger ramp is there pressed to the side of the airplane... in fact, I see no movable walkways at all except in a couple of random places at the airport. Also, airport vehicles are really hit or miss too. I may or may not have a pushback vehicle in front of the airplane but pushback function always works. I would sort of like to start going through the process of ensuring passengers are loaded and having the walkway retracted then get pushback and startup clearance. Do I nee3d to get addon scenery to get that going on? Is there a setting in P3D I need to change? Or is there something in the "Create Scenario" tab that will allow it to happen? Thanks folks!
  4. Smallish commercial jets land at South Lake Tahoe every day. Landing on runway 36 means you come over the mountains from the south, drop RAPIDLY toward the runway, and HOPE you've set up the airplane so you can land without running off the end of the darned pavement! At least, that's how I see it...
  5. Well, I did wome looking in the 3D settings in Nividia control panel and , guess what, there are options in there for DSR! Imagine that. Then, when I started up P3D and looked into the display settings, an option for 4K resolution was there...hmmm...I chose that option and...everything looks the same as it did before. The big deal here is that I was able, in a round about way, to choose DSR for P3D. Thanks guys... I got it now. I'm not all that impressed but, my question has been answered.
  6. The only DSR option I saw was the 4K. I'll check again when I get home from work in the morning.
  7. I've noticed that as I fly along, after 45 minutes to an hour or more, the FPS in the simulator drops a lot and when I land at the destination I have quite a bit of stuttering. Does P3D not use housekeeping to discard old data from memory or is it because of something else that builds up over time?
  8. sigh... it's always something huh? Well, since I can apply DSR to just one monitor, I should also be able to change the text size on only one monitor... I'll give it a shot. Oh joy. Windows won't let me set the size adjustment for only one monitor or even just for one graphics card... it's all or nothing. If I do that, then my addon, SimTouch Plus 2, won't display correctly on any of my monitors.
  9. I agree...might be the driver if you have 347.09. I installed that one and immediately lost the PAPI lights. Not sure of other lights were affected since I noticed it in a daylight flight. Went back to the older driver and lights were back.
  10. Why didn't I ever think of that?! Thank you! SO, I applied DSR to the monitor I use as the main display for P3D, FSX, and everything else. That caused the text and icons on the display to become so small that I couldn't read the text. From what I read, DSR is supposed to scale things up and then scale them back down before sending the image to the monitor. I have three monitors runing on two cards. The main monitor is on a gtx-760 and the two smaller side monitors are on a gt-610.
  11. I've been looking for a way to get Nvidia DSR to work with P3D or FSX but, since they are not "supported games", I can't find a way to get it to happen. I've been looking in the GeForce Experience since that's really the only "Nvidia control panel" type thing I have. I do have MSI Afterburner the "Riva Tuner" thing but don't see how those would help either. People here are stating that they got DSR going so, it must be possible along with other settings that I'm unable to find in GeForce Experience.
  12. Oh,I was under the impression that vox was generating AI traffic all the time unless I changed the slider for it in the settings routine... but then, why would they bother with an "enable" button if it did, huh? Sometimes my thinker goes on vacation...
  13. Hmmm... guess I could simply keep the voxatc window closed and move it's traffic slider to zero in the settings. Then I could move the P3D traffic sliders back to something normal. After all, P3D ATC doesn't interfere with voxatc or the other way around.
  14. Voxatc is an interesting ATC program and I do like it but, I want to remove it from Prepar3d for a while so it won't interfere with other ATC addons I want to experiment with. The problem is, I don't see an "uninstall" option... not sure of the proper way of getting it out of Prepar3d and I don't want to go messing around and having more problems than I can handle...
  15. One voice...male 4...used for both ATC and pilot... Here is the video and you can hear what I'm talking about...it's only 1.5 minutes total:
  16. One voice, two controllers answering up to FSS "Utopia radio"... I'm going to put up a video that illustrates it...give me a bit to edit my screen capture and upload it to youtube.
  17. I'll give that a shot in a bit! I want to listen to the voices again and find the one male voice that's most understandable... last night, it was about impossible for me to figure out how they came up with the pronunciation for Los Angeles! There was one male voice that had it down good enough but the others...not so much.
  18. First thing I thought of! Checked P3D to make sure the native ATC was silenced. It only seems to happen when using FSS to open VFR flight plans. Here is that voice config screenshot you wanted:
  19. It's not a huge deal but when requesting FSS to open a flight plan, I get two controllers responding, one after the other, that they'll open my flight plan. They both respond in the same way. It's just a bit strange and I would love to know what causes it so I can do things differently... it would be a real bummer if they disagreed on what was to be done.
  20. That's it! They have fixed every bug, updated every airport, added photoreal scenery, added every aircraft known to man, perfected ATC, AND.... Gone to 64 bit with legacy compatibility with all previous versions and addons! WOOHOOO!......
  21. Just checked with http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/prepar3d.com and it reports it's plain down for everyone.
  22. There are addons that will import the latest and greatest airport data for use in things like flight planning but, does it actually update the program's information and affect the NAV radio functions. For instance, the current frequency for the ILS system at KRNO is 109.9 but, P3D has it as 110.9. Using the current frequency then will not correlate to P3D properly and using the current frequency will not give you any valid ILS information...you have to tune the NAV radio to what P3D has in order to use ILS at all. The other problem is that P3D shows ILS only for one runway at KRNO (16L) when, in fact, ILS seems to have been installed for two runways now...34R and 16L according to my web search.
  23. OK, as usual, it was operator error. I 'thought' that the addon program I was using set the nav radio for me... oops...there I go thinking again. Once I set the radio myself, the glide slope indicator appeared 'like magic' on the right side of the HSI like it's supposed to.
  24. Hmmmm... OK, I checked and KTVL only has a LOC so, I went to KRNO (Reno) which has ILS and still didn't see any glide slope indication on the HSI or elsewhere.
