  1. did you download and install the freeware mesh for NZ from them? you will need that for Milford Sound to depict correctly Herman
  2. It is the cloud motion effect switched on, AS16 doesn't have a volumetric cloud effect. I switched it off to, it's very annoying. Another thing I have with AS16 and never had before with OpusFSI is that the longer the flight, the more stutters I get on approach and landing, especially on turning while taxiing, I'm talking about flights that are about 45 minutes and longer ( the longer, the more bad ), it's almost like AS16 is filling up space somewhere like a bottle that's slowly filling up, not to happy about that Herman
  3. SGSS is an enormous hit on your medium end system, set it completely off in NVI, and that will give you better frames, don't know for Steve's fixer I don't use DX10 Herman
  4. If the issue is gone then leave things alone, no reason to mess with it then.Herman
  5. Sorry I misread it, I talked about services.exe in the task manager, had this problem last year when checking for updates, it took like forever and this services.exe took about 20% cpu power and didn't stop anymore until PC was switched off. Wasn't easy to fix. Herman
  6. don't know why there are 2 on top? does the airport have a photoreal background? and do they both open and show the whole of the airport? My guess is on the second in the list, what altitude you read there in the airport properties? also you could try to disable the first one by simply adding a .off extension after the bgl ( looks like this ....bgl.off ) this way that one won't be renderd by the sim and then see what you get in the sim, look for stuff missing or so. Herman
  7. Services.msc has to do with the W7 updates, if this uses high CPU and memory then your update software is corrupted and needs to be fixed or switched off completely, if not, no need to do anything about it, not exactly something to do with flight simming but with any software you run on your system. Herman
  8. Open the stock WIMM ( file/open stock airport/ search by ICAO ), then when opend go to file/ airport properties and look at the altitude ( mine says 90ft for WIMM ), close the stock airport and go to the addon airport ( iopen airport from .bgl ) and go to your WIMM addon scenery/scenery folder, there should be a .bgl file with WIMM in the name and one with CVX and WIMM in the name, click on the first to open it and check the same way, probably the altitude is going to be different ( lower is my guess ), if so then go to tools/ change airport reference data and change the altitude to that of the default one, then click on "compile" and overwrite the one in your addon scenery. ADE will warn you about the CVX, let it delete that and make a new one. After all that, don't forget to add the airport to your my traffic software , don't have that so look it up or ask someone who has that to on how to add airports. Don't forget for ADE to work you need SDK installed to, look in the manual and online help files from scruffy duck. Herman
  9. Do you maybe have a file with WIMM in the line in your FSX/scenery/world/scenery folder? if so disable that then. Herman
  10. Had this to in some airports around Europe, even default ones, seemed FTX Vector was the culprit, find out with ADE which tile the airport is on and disable the same in FTX Vector exclusions, this one would be on 7430. Herman
  11. scenery complexity slider not maxed? Herman
  12. Hyper-threading on or off makes no difference, as long as an appropriate AF is applied. I see no advantage in using 3 cores to free up one processor for background applications. It's best if you just just limit background applications, and run on all four cores. Use the internal frame limiter! Frame stability depends on the internal frame lock. Unlocking the frames creates horrendous micro-stuttering. An external frame limiter does not alleviate the problem. Overclock your CPU. The increases in frame stability and average frame rates are quantifiable. If you still see some stutters, then temporarily lower your LOD_Radius until you are in a more suitable area to return it to the max value. Higher LOD values seem to be responsible for the longest frames, and it's probably due to the CPU just being swamped. I only read here exactly the same as I stated, don't know how you interpreted that info, first off all this is for P3D which was changed by LM, no AM is the same as an AM four cores and the guy states that OC'ing helped, he didn't test the OC with no AM which is a pitty which probably would have given the same results. I only gave an easy way for everyone to test the AM without disrupting there cfg ( I tested AM a long time ago and upon removing it out of the fsx.cfg I ended up with a slideshow and enormous stutters leading up to a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX, I think the AM put in the cfg messes the automated hardcore programmed AM up completely giving this result, therefore this easy and save way, no more, no less and up to people whether to use it or not, like I said in my post, I try to help people with simming problems, not to attack other people on there point of view and not helping somebody in no way so take it or leave it I couldn't care less, this is the last thing I said about this topic
  13. What cooling do you have, after market then try OC your CPU to above 3.5 or higher, use NVidia inspector set up in the right way and keep your sliders down; water at 2x low ( this one hits hard on med or high) scenery complexity at normal or max dense, autogen at normal, cloud draw distance not to high max cloud cover at medium, AI traffic at max 20%, no car traffic or leisure boat traffic ( hit hard to ), ferries don't matter since there are not to many in FSX. Try all that and see where you get. Herman
  14. For those non believers that want prove and those want to test AM for themselves without screwing up the cfg file; start your flightsim ( doesn' t matter which one you have and beginning screen is good ), open taskmanager, tab processes and find fsx.exe or p3d.exe, right click on it and and then click " set affinity", uncheck " all cores" then check the cores you want to work and minimize the taskmanager ( don't switch it off or it will revert back to all cores ) ( AM14 is cores 1,2 and 3 checked and core 0 unchecked, for those already have the AM in the cfg they should see here the same as the cores they set in the cfg, if not then your entry in the cfg isn't correct and unchecked means in contradiction to some believers that the core is switched off for your sim, if you don't believe that then AM is no more then a hoax ), now go flying a steady pattern which you can repeat and over some denser scenery and especially watch out for microstutters and stability in framerate and bluries, not a gain in framerate, repeat this with only 2 cores and 1 core to see the difference and see what happens in sim.If no improvement against all 4 cores then switch all cores back on and close task manager and forget about AM, don't look at the graphs, they don't tell you what your sim is using on CPU power, any activity left on a core that is switched of for your sim comes from your OS system, services running in the background ( 50+ services are still running ), your AV still roaring a bit un the back, your weather engine connecting to the internet and downloading and installing weather, maybe like I've seen some guys listening to streaming music while flying, others on a second screen checking the stock market to see if they have made enough money to actually buy the real plane etc, etc,. For those still thinking AM brings some improvement; if you have a 4 core with HT on you will see 8 cores in the set affinity tab, now for every core you have switched on put a "1" on a peace of paper ( lowest core on the left, highest core on the right), for every core switched off a "0", that gives you the binarie code for your AM, convert that with the many binarie to decimal converters on the net and you have your number to put in the AM. I hope this helps people to determine for themselves wether or not AM will help them and don't have to follow sites long discussions any more about AM from people only out for a discussion instead off helping people with real problems.
  15. FSX SE has an automated AM build in hardcore, it isn't in the cfg and there is no need for it neither, with your CPU you are better off without it and giving FSX all the CPU power it can get. A lot of the AM stories are no more then snake oil, put it in and you get more stutters, take it back out and you find yourselfs at the edge of a completely new install. You want some real gain? then in NVidia inspector or you NVidia control panel change the "prerenderd frames" from 3 to 1 and try to run FSX on high priority if your system can handle it ( download freeware Prio and install, then start FSX and in the taskmanager tab Processes right click and set the priority to high, then close FSX and restart your system to let that take effect, and enjoy FSX ( gained an average of 7 frames in KSEA PNW sceneries ( almost on constant 30 frames with the iFly 737 NGX)
  16. Add one version at the time, save and open FSX with that plane, if you want to many versions then it seems that the tool doesn't save them properly, must be a bug. Cargo doors open with CTRL+ E+2 after or ground power or APU fired up. Herman
  17. https://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html read this and install the right packages for you and that will correct the 3 RWY's with problems, then only 16L will be there to correct, ADE is free and after some hands you on can change some stuff easy Herman
  18. Is this stock airport? if so then the only RWY mis aligned is 16L, the ILS is a few degrees off in ADE, with ADE you can correct that, the rest is perfect, did you guys do a navaid and magnetic declination update or not? if not then it could be possible that the PMDG with a newer AIRAC cycle has a different course. Herman
  19. They should both go into the addon scenery/scenery folder or you create a new folder in the addon scenery folder with the name of the airport and in that folder you create a new scenery and texture folder, then put the files into that scenery folder and add the folder in FSX to your scenry librarie, the first way is the easiest. Herman
  20. Did a search on flightsim and the only EGNT I find for FSX is an AFCAD file without an airport background, that could explain your problem, this type off file can be put in the AI airports folder if you have traffic 360 or my traffic but not where it says it should go. http://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx/uk.html here you can find better stuff; Herman
  21. Does the add on have 2 .bgl files, one with the airport ICAO and some letters or numbers and a second one with the same letters and numbers but with the letters _CVX.bgl? the second one is absolutely necessary because that is the airport background taking away all autogen. Herman PS as for the max trees and max buildings in Charliearon's cfg, they are only there for a low end or medium end PC and are basically the same as reducing your autogen slider, no need for them thus. And for the first entry, that isn't even in the FSX SDK code so it will not be recognized by FSX and serves no purpose what so ever.
  22. Check your terrain.cfg in your main sim folder, surch for "airport background" ( about 26 entries ) and look for the render priority, it should be 200000 instead of 20000 and if in the header is the word "maskclass" then the remaplandclasstype should be changed from "none" to "airport", this is an old FSX bug. Herman
  23. Do you have FTX Vector or some other OTBX scenery by any chance? Herman
  24. G- effects on in aircraft realism settings? this causes this type of behavior. Herman
  25. If you are talking about the blurries then this is that your system doesn't cope with high demanding add ons, try lowering your settings, like water 2x low or max mid and autogen to normal. What value do you have fpr Texture_bandwidth_multiplier? set this to 80 for a good average between normal and photo real scenery, also fiddle with Fiber_Frame_Time_Fraction under the (main ) section in the cfg ( this isn't there by default so put in, default value is 0.33, lowering this increases frames but to low and you get blurries, increasing reduces blurries. Herman
