  1. Currently i5 9600k, MSI Z390 gaming plus mobo, DDR4 32gb memory, CM ML240mm AIO, MSI RTX 2060S 8gb gpu. A whole new build of 13th gen 13700k it means new mobo, new aio and new ram which means an additional $1700 cost here. But if i just go for an RTX 4090 with a new i9 9900k it'll save a lot but major concern is the bottlenecking. Mostly flight simming in DCS and MSFS at 1440p and i don't have VR yet but would consider in future. Budget is suitable for both but dont wanna spend extra 2 grands for a mariginal gain.
  2. Hello fellow flyers, I currently do have I5 9600k clocked at 4.6 with CM 240mm AIO Cooler and RTX 2060 Super. I consider going for a 9900k and a 3080 TI without having to change my mobo, ram and so on. Do you think it'd be a worthy upgrade ? I'm running X-plane 11 and P3D5 at 1440p resolution with high-end settings. Thanks in advance
  3. Hello I have been really interested in building my own free head tracking gear. I thought i finalized the deal yesterday but encountered some serious issues with camera failing to focus on LEDs only. I previously put a thin layer of old photo films ( was a totally opaque thing) and it didnt work. I then removed that thing and using camera without any visible light filter. Also i realized that the dimensions of the track clip was totally wrong. I just did a random cut to resemble the real thing. i actually dont even know that if it's an issue or no. Here are some pictures below of what i did so far. currently im not using any visible light blocking thing. Do i have to re-build the track clip with smaller dimensions ? and do i really need a visible light blocking filter ? Currently i dont have a floppy disk at home nor i could find it at any local store so far. I ordered some online. need advices to correct this all. Materials i used to build this stuff Some sturdy cardboard for the track clip 30 ohm resistor Electric tapes PS3 eye camera with removed IR filter 3x TSAL6400 IR LED 1x Battery box with on-off switch 2x AA batteries 1.5 volts each
  4. i have purchased a PS3 eye camera with old style lens ( good one with removable IR filter) and 5mm 940nm wavelength TSAL6400 model IR LED lights. Do i have to use sandpaper to clean up the plastic layer of the LEDs or not at all ? Thanks
  5. Thank you very much i really appreciate your time and efforts. I'll definitely let you guys know of results. ( God knows when 😄 )
  6. Fellow flyers ! I've been seriously thinking about building myself a replica of 737 yoke and a throttle quadrant. Yoke can be desktop style or with the column doesnt matter at all and also throttle quadrant not need to be motorized as it's something beyond what i can realistically accomplish. Regarding the budget for tools and gadgets, i'm pretty open with this but dont wanna spend horrible amounts on those ready-to-use ones. What im actually seeking here is a bunch of advise and a good list of materials i would need to start this off and i have a couple questions on that. I'd really appreciate if somebody already has a diagram for these things with realistic dimensions ( I do not have a 3d printer) 1. Can i just purchase any PCB with a couple of potentiometers for the axis and buttons or is there a particular type designed for this purpose ? 2. Which material would be the best one to build the control wheel ? ( In terms of weight, feeling and durability) 3. What kind of software would be needed to get Windows10 to recognize my hardwares ? Thanks in advance
  7. Hello there. I built a system with the specs listed in my signature. Everything was fine in the first place. I was getting min 48-55 fps in P3D V4.5 with Overcast clouds bad weather + ORBX global + openLC + Vector + PMDG 777 + Active Sky + REX Sky Force HD clouds + Aerosoft Mega Airport Frankfurt with high settings. A friend of mine had set the Nvidia control panel for P3D v4.5 and it was all good. GPU temp was reaching 62-65C max which is pretty good at Auto Fan RPM. Then i wanted to try something different with Nvidia Control Panel settings and my FPS dropped to around 29-33 with the scenario i mentioned above. Interestingly, it feels like My gpu is no longer being used fully by the sim and GPU temp is not rising at all. I dont really remember how it all was set up in the beginning. My current Nvidia settings like that. I'm in need of suggestions to correct this. Thanks in advance
  8. Thanks for the advices. But i thought P3D V4 requires at least 8GB Vram no matter what screen resolution you have ?
  9. Hello there fellow aviators. I'm thinking about building a new rig for p3d v4 and for the upcoming MSFS 2020. Need some real professional assistance that'd help me save some bucks. The planned setup is as follows: - CPU O1: I5 9600k - O2: Ryzen 7 2700X - Cooler: O1: Sycthe Mugen5 - O2: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports - MOBO: Z390 Chipset or X370 - GPU (really confused) : O1: RX 5700XT - O2: RX 590 - RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200mhz Gskill SniperX - SSD: 1TB m2 ADATA (TLC memory, 3500/3000mbs) - PSU: 700W BeQuiet 80+ Gold Screen resolution for now 1920x1080p, but may go for a 2k monitor as well.
  10. well my case and psu are still good enough. the rest is scrap
  11. Hello folks, thinking about building this rig Ryzen 5 1600x 3.60GHZ - 4.00GHZ with turbo clock CM Hyper T4 cpu cooler Sapphire RX 580 PULSE GDDR5 8GB 256bit GPU Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000mhz 16Gb Ram MSI B350 AM4 MOBO Crucial P1 500GB M.2 SSD (1900 mb/s read, 950mb/s write) Planning to run P3D v4 with a 1080p monitor I need your honest opinions on this rig and reasonable alternatives. Thanks
  12. Thank you everyone for taking time to share your opinions. I'll run the p3d v4 on a 1080p monitor so GTX 1060 6Gig will do the job from what i hear in the comments. As you guys said, i'll then consider upgrading gpu to 1070 or 1080 if i decide to get a new 2k or 4k uhd monitor.
  13. Hello fellow aviators , brothers and sisters I think the time has come to get rid of my write-off and build a new one with a sort of limited budget. First of all im planning to put an i7 7700k on a Z270 chipset MOBO which will probably be MSI Z270 SLI plus ( good price , very nice features such as SLI support) , GTX 1060 6GB 192 bit GPU (looks promising tho), 16 GB DDr4 Ram 3000MHZ, corsair liquid cooling ( just in case i get to fry the cpu during an overlock attempt lol). I'm not planning to put an SSD for now since it does not make a huge difference except for loading time. So i need the opinions of other simmers for this build and i need to know that if i can run p3d v4 on this machine smoothly with decent graphics. Thanks in advance Have safe flights all
