  1. I thought I was getting seizures last time I tried X-Plane with all the shimmering scenery...flashing buildings...etc. I must be the only one I guess because every youtube video I see none of that. Maybe you need a supercomputer to run but it was awful on mine (with a 6700k/970GTX). Maybe I'll try 10.50 just for grins but am not falling into the 'grass is greener on the other side' trick again cause it ain't.
  2. This seems a terrific upgrade from Carenado. The pitch axis is much less twitchy and the multi-intensity lights are great. The G1000 upgrades are nice as well with a few more formats I think (ARC HSI mode) and other things. The 'Fuel & Payload' loader in P3D will not update though? Can add fuel but payload forget it...just goes back to 2 180 lb first row occupants. I'll just live with it I guess but would be nice to recreate real payloads on this beast.
  3. I installed the WX advantage radar in to the Milviz C310R but get this message when loading the aircraft in the scenario screen: 'MV_WX.dll incompatible with this simulator.' Radar is inoperable of course. I'm using P3D v3.3.5. Tried a few times re-downloading installer from the online source (Flight Sim store) thinking maybe there was an update but still the same. Can anyone help?
  4. I couldn't wait hehe ...PTA appears to work fine and got that fabulous blue haze back.
  5. Daytime (high noon) is too dark for my tastes. Maybe my monitor needs calibrating. Anyway, adjusted 'Autogen shadows intensity' and 'Boost lite' to match default PTA to see if I could get the cockpit brightness back like the default in PTA, and it did brighten some but still way too dark and too much contrast. Then I reload the default and cockpit is back to good lighting. So there is some setting somewhere still that has to be darkening the interior. But its all good love the outside lighting and can adjust to it and keep 'tweaking' until I stumble on something (for sure that's what it will be hehe)...hey that's why its called PTA
  6. I'm using the ultimate realism pack with P3D v3.3 via the PTA tool per the instructions in the README. The outside world looks amazing and bright, however inside the plane it is so dark I can hardly make out anything on the instrument panel. What setting will brighten the interior? Especially with a dark panel like the SR-22 nothing is really readable except the glass part (G1000)....and even that is very dark.
  7. There is also bad flickering in KPHX (FBS). Some of it was going on prior to v3.3. but it has gotten much worse. The taxiway markers flicker like mad especially, and also the jetways.
  8. Flight Plan Go. It's free. It has everything imaginable...including moving maps with option to superimpose approach charts on top. Great flight planner with real world routes to select and creates a very detailed nav log updated in real time. I've dumped searching for expensive tablet apps since finding this as it does everything. Also I ditto FS-Flight Control also mainly for the approach training and ability to simulate various failures...great training tool.
  9. Not sure if I'm the last person on earth to find this or what, but FTX Central was updated when I re-installed FTX Global with NO hybrid mode! All regions and global are active at all times and no more switching between them! Wootwoot!
  10. Want to 2nd rick66 in that Steve's post was the most clear and easy to understand explanation by far to date on how HT and AM works. It has alluded me totally up to this point and trying to piece together bits of info from all the posts in the big AM thread. Now i see....sort of  And please is there anyway we could have some kind of beginners guide on this so it is readily available? Maybe now I might try the HT with AM setting with my new i7-6700k. Thanks!
  11. I have just gotten this plane also and find it amazing...especially the flight model. One thing though that I was wondering if someone could help with...I am using X-Camera and the default camera that is created when enabling acts well...strangely. As I pan up with the mouse look, the viewpoint seems to move forward as the view points up to the point where the instruments change to a oblong shape, and the panel looks 'tilted'. Its like the person in the plane is moving forward while looking up but its distorting the view. No other of the X-Camera views in other planes does this. This is the only drawback and otherwise love the plane, but can't take this effect. Also, maybe I should use TrackIR and that would correct it. Anyway, I am brand new to X-Plane so was wondering if anyone else is seeing this and could help. Thanks!
  12. The engines are over-torquing and failing. I had this also and finally figured out that 3/4 throttle was needed to keep the needle just inside the red line. Haven't quit since.
  13. That view above is one of the best I've seen. Could you share your settings in the shader pack, and whether HDR is on or off?
  14. Thanks for the update Andreas. Yes I have seen those missing STARS now at KABQ since updating. Looking forward to your update of SIDs/STARs directly on the maps. That should help a lot as for me at least, it is really cumbersome trying to pick the correct SID/STAR based on the general departure/arrival quadrants without having to open them up one by one. A visual que on a map indicating which SID/STAR is used for the direction of flight would be awesome.
  15. FS-FlightControl for the approach training and multitude of other features. It trumps any other approach training product IMO being controllable from ipad/android and actually puts the airplane in position 100% of the time instead of on the ground by houses or in a death spiral to the ground. Flight Pln Go for the most awesome FREE tool for a moving map and charts right at your finger tip (which now are even superimposed on the moving map!)
  16. Thanks for the quick reply Andreas. That is awesome news as I find the 'Approach Training' one of the cooler (among many cool) features of FS-FlightControl. Is it possible to have another trial period to check the SID/STAR fixes update? I think I have under a week left of my trial. Anyway, trial or no as long as all the arrival/approach data is there then I plan on purchasing the full version. One more question if you could on moving aircraft to a selected position for approach training. Does this work reliably for any 3rd party aircraft? I had all kinds of issues with another product where some aircraft just would not cooperate and others were fine, but generally they would either spin right into the ground or be placed on the ground somewhere between houses. Just don't want to run into that nightmare again as it was infuriatingly frustrating. Thanks again for your quick response and willingness to push out an update so quickly. Greg
  17. Hi Andreas, I have also been enjoying the trial version of your product but have a question about the 'Approach Training' module. Generally, this is working nicely and places the aircraft I've tried at the correct locations and in a stable state, but there seems to be some missing STARs and waypoints for some STARs. For example I was trying a STAR approach to KABQ from the east and wanted LAVAN3 but its missing. So I tried the KRKEE3 RNAV but the CABNO transition was not in the list of waypoints. It seems also that there are no non-RNAV STARs available I could find. Of course this could all be 'user error' and something I'm missing, hence the question:) Thanks! Greg
  18. Want to think Paul for starting this thead. I think it is my ATF thread:) Just also tried FlightGo and it is...just...awesome. I have been trying to find a user frindly charts/procedures program for Android and here it is. Between finding FlightGo and FS-FlightControl this has been a great day! Greg
  19. I have to also chime in and say based on just a few hours using the trial feel this product is amazing. I have only used the 'Approach Training' part so far and and if it only had that it would would still be worth the price. Other 'IFR training' products I have tried could never get working reliability with certain 3rd party aircraft and causes them to just go into an immediate unrecoverable spin or places the aircraft on the ground by houses (kind of funny if it weren't for the frustration of that). This program is rock solid with the same aircraft and can do all types of approaches with STARs and lots of weather condition options. And this is just a fraction of what it can do, including flight planning, moving maps, synoptics, failure injection, autopilot, statistics showing my crappy approaches to improve and exporting those approaches to Google Earth to analyze, and more. Quite a polished program this is IMO. Oh and the final piece that is what will decide for sure for me...compatible on Android tablet!
  20. I use a .90 zoom typically and this effect is still awful. Especially if the sun is low and behind all the houses are lit up then sudden blury darkness at the LOD radius. It almost has me running back to FSX until this improves, but there are so many other great things with P3D I'll live with it.
  21. Well blow me down. I hadn't a clue about setting in nvidia. But now after amping up all 3 (brightness, contrast and gamma) non-HDR is stunning. Days are bright...fields are green (not pastel green!), and the ground textures seem so much crisper than with HDR. I'm with odourboy and would like to be enlighted on HDR since it seems to me to have more negatives than positives over non-HDR.
  22. Was just curious about what other's HDR settings are and thoughts on it. I have been tinkering like a mad man trying to get it just right....HDR no HDR ( none is too dark always for me), then on the HDR sliders. I noticed the saturation literally goes from black & white to full color so for the most color that is 1. The brightness at default 1.1 is just glaring so that had to come down some, but under 1 it was just too dark. Then I started fiddling with bloom. Someone said 0.45 was good and liked that but eh that seemed too drab after awhile with the brightness turned down to 1. Then I said you know just try what the 'nominal' settings are likely....1,1,1. And I have to say it is perfect (for me). If you try that in the PNW region you too may like it! The colors are vibrant again. I'm finally content with HDR now and ready to move on and have some fun! BTW...I am a newb on here and don't post much but I had to share this it was so exciting:) I've been unsatisfied with the lighting in P3D until I stumbled across this today so thought I'd share... Greg
  23. I was just on a flight in northern cal in the GTN 750 equipped C182 and midway through the flight the frame rate dropped to around 15-20 and stayed there. Exited the flight then created another scenario on the ground at KPHX in the Phantom 300 and frame rate was the same. Then had to reboot the pc to clear it out. I'm wondering if this may be from a GTN 750 crash and the process was still running causing the FPS drop until rebooting. As it was happening I didn't think to look at the GTN as I was more concerned over what was going on with FPS/stuttering, but after rebooting and clearing it I thought of the GTN since that is another running process so it could be related.
  24. Ok, but how/where do I access the support email? I've uninstalled the Mindstar G1000 software for the moment and had to manually remove the hypergauge.dll and link to it in fsx.cfg to remove the pop up message. Also, I'm not sure my available installs of the Mindstar G1000 has or will soon reach its limit, though, as I've uninstalled/reinstalled a few times already trying to get it to work.
