  1. How did you solve your issue in your youtube video? The one with the AI off in the grass?
  2. It didn't seem to solve the problem. The planes still turns off into the grass (runway 1) and disappears. An aircraft landing on the other runway taxied off the runway OK but took 3 tries to park at the gate. That runway is not used much.
  3. Am I the only one who has these AI issues? Can it be fixed please? If not going to buy a product that has these issues with 3rd party airports.
  4. I had another problem tonight. All landing traffic into KDCA Runway 1 (DD design Washington) take a turn-off into the grass instead of the taxiway and then are promptly deleted. The departing planes all seem to follow the taxiways properly which is strange. I tried renaming the MYT file for KDCA and nothing changed. The plane just misses the turn-off, taxied off into the grass and disappears. This is my only KDCA add-on.
  5. I'm a new user to VOX, and I have been using the Beta for a few days now. I noticed that planes have trouble parking at some airports. For example, at aerosoft Dublin, some gates would cause issues for some planes while others parked fine the first try. The problem aircraft would appear to park fine (there was plenty of room) but then would do a 360 turn out of the gate, taxi over the grass, turn back and try again multiple times, without success. Finally after several tries, around 4+ it would shut down. I'm using Mytraffic 6 planes and I ran the indexer. Any thoughts on how to solve this or is it just a bug? Another issue is planes landing on cross runways into each other. I experienced this at Cork airport (default). When the wind changed, the planes were landing right into each other on the same runway also. Since there is no parallel taxiway at Cork with default scenery, the planes were taxiing up the runway for takeoff and other planes were taking off right through them in the opposite direction. Very strange. Also, I noticed planes going through buildings at Aerosoft Dublin. This probably happens at other airports. To be honest, I would have a hard time buying this product if I can't fix this issue.
  6. That's great, thanks very much for the info. I'll probably go for the Queen first then. John Beck.
  7. I'm a NGX flyer and I need a long haul plane. Deciding between this and the 777. I heard the latter has a feature that accelerates long haul flights with better time compression called auto cruise or something like that? Does the 747 have this too? Thanks John Beck
  8. I'm relatively new to the product but I'm wondering what is going on. I Was flying over the Netherlands tonight and got hit with huge amounts of towering cumulus cells near AMS... This doesn't seem right at all. I looked up Netherlands weather and there are no T-Storms just wind warnings. I don't think massive t-storms are usual in that location at this time of the year. I use AS16 + ASCA with P3D and FSlabs A320..
  9. I recently bought a MSI 1080 gtx gaming x (slightly factory overclocked) and I am wondering what are some good setting? Maybe I'm expecting too much. I am running a 4K monitor and the xeon version of the 5930K overclocked to 4.5ghz on air cooling. I have the Orbx scenery but I disable the regions because I seem to go OOM very easily. I use the land classes and global. I strictly fly jets, mainly the PMDG 737. I also use activesky/cloud art, mytraffic (traffic level set at 25 percent), and GSX I am getting only around 17-22 frames on the ground taxiing at major payware (aerosoft, FSDT, etc) airports (EGLL, EDDF, KJFK, KMIA) and in high density areas like SFO and LAX the frames are pretty poor with default airports. Less than 20 on the ground at default LAX for example. I get decent frames at small payware airports in less dense areas (30+) like Corfu. My settings are pretty high with most sliders one notch from full right and a lot of shadows turned on (vegetation, buildings, etc). I am running 8X anti aliasing and 4k textures. Scenery complexity is Very Dense, Autogen Very Dense, Level of Detail is Ultra, Shadows are high, cloud coverage is max, Texture detail is one notch from right. I would like to get around 30 fps at major airports at least. Perhaps it is necessary to acquire another 1080, a different CPU, or do some tweaks? Thanks Heathrow.
  10. Ok thanks all for the advice. I'll definitely start to switch to FLCH or V/S to avoid this issue. I'll check out some ATC add-ons that deal with STARS/SIDS properly too. However, is there any way edit the default ATC to make it start vectoring you later so that that it allows you to fly more of the STAR? I inputted the STAR waypoints into the IFR flight plan but the vectoring started after the second waypoint on the STAR was reached. In real life, how much of a STAR does a typical flight follow before getting vectors?
  11. I was descending on a STAR with VNAV when p3d atc took me off it early and gave me initial vectors for approach. I followed their altitude instructions and heading (heading select) by inputting them into the MCP with VNAV remaining on. However, Vnav seems to descend very slowly at times doing this and I got the "expedited descent' message often. I wonder why it doesn't get you down faster when I push altitude intervene on the MCP after an instruction by ATC. So, Is it usual procedure in this case to remain on Vnav even if you are not going to be near your STAR waypoints and their associate altitude restrictions? Is this messing up the VNAV descent profile somehow? Should I be using a different mode when ATC starts vectoring me off my STAR and giving different altitudes than my STAR has? The final waypoint in the plan was of course the final approach fix for the runway, which was 2500 feet. My cruise was around FL250. Also, is there anyway to be able to fly most of the STAR using p3d?. I had a flight plan loaded with the waypoints, but they took me off very early. Thanks John Murphy
  12. Excuse the newbie question, but I think I did something wrong when I installed 3.1. I uninstalled 3.0 and installed 3.1 right after, leaving all the other add-ons untouched. When I opened the sim, I received errors about various Orbx libraries not being found. Also, the PMDG NGX is no longer listed in the aircraft selection. What is the best thing to do now? Thanks Heathrow
  13. Regardin that photo up there, the water does indeed appear to move from altitude on Slew mode with the sun shinging on it or when you are down low. My waves indeed move with the wind up, but the effect from altitude is still that of a big blue painting.
  14. Here is an examle of unatural looking water with linear pattern that doesn't move much, especially when you are high up. My water does move, but it is not noticeable from high up looking across the ocean. Instead you see this repeating pattern of static lines that look like a painting. They also shimmer giving off a strange effect. Here is one that shows the water looks OK with movement but only from certain angles.
  15. I'm using REX4 in p3d v 3 and I'm not liking the look. What are the best settings in REX4 for realistic water?
  16. Thanks, but unfortunately I don't have 4 months (daily work) of time to dedicate to this. I guess I'll have to just suffer what ever is on the market.
  17. Hey, I notice when I fly over the ocean at a reasonable altitude (around 5000 feet + ), the water looks like a painting, with a regular linear pattern that seems frozen and strange looking white reflections from the clouds. I don't like the effect, because it looks like someone painted it with blue paint and left these undulations with a paint brush. I don't see movement from above, just this shimmering effect and lines going across the screen. I am running water on Ultra. I notice that when I zoom in, the water is indeed moving, but the effect from altitude is very bizarre! Is it just me or does everyone have this? I'm running REX4, and I've tried different textures to no avail.
  18. Wow... What is required to make this, any guides? I'm a total newbie in that area.
  19. Thanks for the advice! Good to know that it can work reasonably well in p3d. I may now pick it up.
  20. Ok, I used MegaScenery which was disappointing. I'll look into the GenX scenery. Also, I may get the Swiss Pro scenery if it works with P3D, as there is no Orbx region in that amazing part off the world.
  21. I bought a photoscenery of Ireland and, although it's accurate and good from high up, the flatness ruins it for me on approach and take-off. The houses and buildings all look flat from a decent altitude as well. That said, Orbx doesn't exactly satisfy me either. You need photo scenery with Autogen.
  22. So, will Switzerland Pro X work with P3D and FTX products? I have FTX Global/OpenLC, and I want better Swiss scenery. Thanks
  23. Ho guys, I have the full Orbx stack (global, vector, openlc) for Europe, but as I do a lot of flying into Austria (LOWI) and Switzerland airports, I am wondering what is the best scenery for there? I especially want the alps to look amazing and some of the towns. Nothing recent seems available for P3D, so I am looking at older products: Approaching Innsbruck, Swiss Pro, and Austria Pro. 1) Do they work with P3D v3 easily? 2) Are they still good enough or are they dated looking by now? I would only be buying if they were a decent step up from the ORBX stuff right now. Thank you all, Heathrow.
