Yup. 14 CFR § 91.151 -
Pointless resurrection really.

Comanche How to Start.
FrankR409 replied to Bobsk8's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Sim. I should clarify, however, 20 to 30 gallons total would be my usual situation. Although, I confess one trip from KBKL to KEKM saw me landing with about 7 gallons and conservation measures were needed.. -
Comanche How to Start.
FrankR409 replied to Bobsk8's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I don’t disagree. I recreate flights that I would have otherwise driven to clients, those flights average around 1 hour to 1.5 hours. I am notoriously cheap and carry a light fuel load as I am trying as best as possible to get the cheapest fuel possible and/or mitigate landing fees that might get waived with fuel purchase. Hauling fuel burns more fuel. So keeping the tanks as balanced as possible works for me. I am planning a longer trip from KEKM > KHIB in about 3 weeks that will certainly have me topped up, and we will drain from the tips before we hit the mains, and surely it won’t be every 20 minutes. I think we can all agree though, that this plane has created an enlightening experience into the subtle realities of ownership for everyone who is serious about GA. -
Comanche How to Start.

Very concise, thank you. I read this as well over at that forum. I only go at it with the fullest tank, and switch out about every 20 minutes or so. -

I am guessing that Bob could give you a pretty good argument about this statement… -

MSFS wouldn't start this morning
FrankR409 replied to Bobsk8's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Same issue here, and looked on AVSIM first to see if it had been reported. I figured Windows did an update or something. Once I got in and flying there were no issues. -
Looking for a new U.S. Airport do
FrankR409 replied to Verticalsim's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
KSBN - South Bend, In. Home to several airlines, has a FedEx facility, a couple of busy FBO’s. Home to the Fighting Irish! Nobody has done this airport. -
Maybe to get this back on track, and without prejudice to anything written previously in this thread, but the speed feels and my sense of it seems accurate.

A2A Comanche has been released!
FrankR409 replied to abrams_tank's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I am only on my third flight, but you certainly appreciate all of the small details. I started mine as a new airplane, and am doing everything possible to fly it by the check lists, and great prudence as well. My last landing at KBMI was so smooth, that I simply can’t wait to go back. It really makes me want to learn more about the plane, which I am doing now. It will be difficult going back to any of my other planes. This was a long time in the making, but my utmost appreciation and respect for what the A2A team did here, as they exceeded any expectation I had for this project. -

It would be interesting to hear of any interesting maintenance events that occur during the journey! I just took my first flight and it clearly exceeded my expectations. -

Accu-Sim Comanche 250 MSFS Cruise Video
FrankR409 replied to Sethos's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I suspect it’s pretty close. Regarding the other comments on price, I always have lived by the principle that price is what what you pay, value is what you receive. -

I’m gobsmacked really. I can’t wait to watch the videos that are coming. Also hoping they do a c172 someday, but I’ll happily be buying it on day 1. -
What do you think is the future of MSFS and AI?
FrankR409 replied to Purr's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Here is how AI (via chat gbt) feels that ai could enhance MSFS Enhanced realism and immersion: AI algorithms can be used to improve various aspects of realism in the game. For example, AI could be employed to dynamically generate more realistic and diverse weather patterns, including accurate cloud formations, wind patterns, and atmospheric effects. AI could also simulate more realistic air traffic patterns and behaviors, making the virtual skies feel more alive. Intelligent virtual copilots: AI-powered virtual copilots can be developed to assist players during flights. These copilots could provide useful information, such as weather updates, navigation suggestions, and system status updates. They could also assist with automated checklists, aircraft performance optimization, and even offer suggestions for emergency procedures. This would enhance the solo flying experience and make the game more accessible to novice players. Advanced AI-controlled aircraft: AI could be used to simulate highly realistic behavior for non-playable aircraft within the simulation. These AI-controlled planes could follow realistic flight paths, communicate with air traffic control, and respond realistically to environmental conditions. This would add more realism to the virtual world and create a more immersive experience for players. Smarter ATC and air traffic management: AI algorithms can enhance the capabilities of the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system in MSFS. AI-powered ATC can intelligently manage air traffic, provide more accurate and realistic instructions, and dynamically adjust traffic flow based on changing conditions. This would result in a more authentic experience and improved immersion. Intelligent procedural generation: MSFS utilizes procedural generation techniques to create the vast and detailed world. AI could improve this process by generating more realistic and diverse landscapes, including terrain, vegetation, and buildings. Additionally, AI could assist in generating more detailed and accurate airport layouts, including runways, taxiways, and parking areas. Adaptive learning and player behavior analysis: AI could analyze player behavior and adapt the simulation to the player's skill level and preferences. By monitoring the player's actions, AI algorithms could provide tailored feedback, offer personalized tutorials, and suggest training scenarios to help players improve their skills. Real-time flight planning and navigation: AI could assist players in real-time flight planning and navigation. By analyzing weather data, traffic conditions, and other factors, AI algorithms could provide optimal flight routes, fuel management suggestions, and alternate airport recommendations. This would assist players in making informed decisions during their flights. -
What do you think is the future of MSFS and AI?
FrankR409 replied to Purr's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I’m still trying to get through how it benefits me at all, to be honest. I do use it in business for certain mundane writing tasks. I can easily imagine how it would benefit me in household tasks, but haven’t gone there yet if it extends to hobby. This is a thought provoking question for certain. -
I haven’t seen the new trailer, and now here it is posted in a central place where I can learn about it. Some of us don’t spend hours on YouTube watching their commercials. Thanks, David.

Just Flight traffic
FrankR409 replied to Jack_Sawyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Jack, I’m afraid you will have to do a complete reinstall of windows, as well as MSFS. It wouldn’t hurt to change all of your USB plugs as well. 🤣. Sorry, Jack! -
What's the Caribou like ?
FrankR409 replied to Paul K's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
1962 Brochure of the Caribu, 36 pages and really good information. http://www.c-7acaribou.com/history/images/Caribou_Brochure_Web.pdf -
You have to admit, the gulping oil sound at startup, worth it for me and I don’t even own the plane (yet)

Anyone still having Default ATC issues?
FrankR409 replied to Dillon's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
It has happened recently and while the voice stops the instructions in the log do not. I missed an instruction because of this, and my IFR was discontinued mid-flight. -
60 second pause is back, begging for help.
FrankR409 replied to Jack_Sawyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
This sounds like very good advice, Jack. As I suggested in my PM to you, maybe we could press the issue with Jetline Systems a bit harder first. Unless the PC is out of warranty, one would hope they value their reputation. Additionally, they should at least have some unique insight about MSFS since they do install it. I’ll leave you alone now, but still rooting for you!
