Glad it's sim flying. Carry on. 🙂

Bear in mind though that by law, you are required to be able to fly to your destination and for 30 minutes thereafter at normal cruising speed. Most pilots will tell you (those with more than two brain cells to rub together anyway) that you always want to plan on landing with 1 hour of fuel in the tanks. Personally I'm very conservative on fuel.

    Yup.  14 CFR § 91.151

It’s really personal preference, but I would consider that too often. I agree with what was mentioned above: change 30 minutes after departure, and then once an hour after that.

I don’t disagree. I recreate flights that I would have otherwise driven to clients, those flights average around 1 hour to 1.5 hours.  I am notoriously cheap and carry a light fuel load as I am trying as best as possible to get the cheapest fuel possible and/or mitigate landing fees that might get waived with fuel purchase.  Hauling fuel burns more fuel.  So keeping the tanks as balanced as possible works for me.  I am planning a longer trip from KEKM > KHIB in about 3 weeks that will certainly have me topped up, and we will drain from the tips before we hit the mains, and surely it won’t be every 20 minutes.

I think we can all agree though, that this plane has created an enlightening experience into the subtle realities of ownership for everyone who is serious about GA.

About using both tanks at once, one thing that was pointed out in the A2A forums is that if you do so, there's risk of unwanted fuel transfer between the tanks during turbulence/maneuvers (which isn't very serious), and if there's something wrong with the fuel system (leaks, contaminated fuel etc.), it's harder to identify which of the tanks is having the issue (which could be very serious). What I do, assuming both tanks have more or less the same amount of fuel at take-off, is switch tanks after 30 minutes and then again every hour afterwards.

Very concise, thank you. I read this as well over at that forum. I only go at it with the fullest tank, and switch out about every 20 minutes or so.

What a great plane, after a weekend reading through this thread I could not resist anymore!

Don't regret buying this at all, it has indeed a great feel when flying it.

I am only on my third flight, but you certainly appreciate all of the small details.  I started mine as a new airplane, and am doing everything possible to fly it by the check lists, and great prudence as well.  My last landing at KBMI was so smooth, that I simply can’t wait to go back.  It really makes me want to learn more about the plane, which I am doing now.  It will be difficult going back to any of my other planes.  This was a long time in the making, but my utmost appreciation and respect for what the A2A team did here, as they exceeded any expectation I had for this project.

My VA has a Tour in the Philippines. Just did the first leg in the Comanche, and it flew great. Looking forward to doing all of it.

        Flights:
    Leg: 1 - FVNPPI01 - RPLL to RPUM
    Leg: 2 - FVNPPI02 - RPUM to RPVP
    Leg: 3 - FVNPPI03 - RPVP to RPMJ
    Leg: 4 - FVNPPI04 - RPMJ to RPMZ
    Leg: 5 - FVNPPI05 - RPMZ to RPMC
    Leg: 6 - FVNPPI06 - RPMC to RPMD

  6. Here is how AI (via chat gbt) feels that ai could enhance MSFS

    1. Enhanced realism and immersion: AI algorithms can be used to improve various aspects of realism in the game. For example, AI could be employed to dynamically generate more realistic and diverse weather patterns, including accurate cloud formations, wind patterns, and atmospheric effects. AI could also simulate more realistic air traffic patterns and behaviors, making the virtual skies feel more alive.

    2. Intelligent virtual copilots: AI-powered virtual copilots can be developed to assist players during flights. These copilots could provide useful information, such as weather updates, navigation suggestions, and system status updates. They could also assist with automated checklists, aircraft performance optimization, and even offer suggestions for emergency procedures. This would enhance the solo flying experience and make the game more accessible to novice players.

    3. Advanced AI-controlled aircraft: AI could be used to simulate highly realistic behavior for non-playable aircraft within the simulation. These AI-controlled planes could follow realistic flight paths, communicate with air traffic control, and respond realistically to environmental conditions. This would add more realism to the virtual world and create a more immersive experience for players.

    4. Smarter ATC and air traffic management: AI algorithms can enhance the capabilities of the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system in MSFS. AI-powered ATC can intelligently manage air traffic, provide more accurate and realistic instructions, and dynamically adjust traffic flow based on changing conditions. This would result in a more authentic experience and improved immersion.

    5. Intelligent procedural generation: MSFS utilizes procedural generation techniques to create the vast and detailed world. AI could improve this process by generating more realistic and diverse landscapes, including terrain, vegetation, and buildings. Additionally, AI could assist in generating more detailed and accurate airport layouts, including runways, taxiways, and parking areas.

    6. Adaptive learning and player behavior analysis: AI could analyze player behavior and adapt the simulation to the player's skill level and preferences. By monitoring the player's actions, AI algorithms could provide tailored feedback, offer personalized tutorials, and suggest training scenarios to help players improve their skills.

    7. Real-time flight planning and navigation: AI could assist players in real-time flight planning and navigation. By analyzing weather data, traffic conditions, and other factors, AI algorithms could provide optimal flight routes, fuel management suggestions, and alternate airport recommendations. This would assist players in making informed decisions during their flights.

Yes.  They both show 1.0.3.  Guess that’s what I’ll do, sad too because it listed my exact problem.  Funny thing was it was working.

Jack, I’m afraid you will have to do a complete reinstall of windows, as well as MSFS. It wouldn’t hurt to change all of your USB plugs as well.  🤣. Sorry, Jack!

In my opinion, this site is a scam.  Let's start with the lack (or non-existence) of reviews.  The only comments are from people that are waiting on their product.  Then, look at the company's landing page.  Not only do they spell "welcome" wrong but they can't even get the spelling of their name right.  I plugged Javasimulator.com into sites that verify websites and it does come back that they are in Thailand but no other information exists.  The trust level is at 14% which basically means don't trust them.  If you look at bottom of their website, it gives information about the company but I plugged that into Google Translator and it detects that is in a language called Oromo.  I googled this and it is a language from Ethiopia.  Most email scams I get are from Africa.  So, you decide if this is a scam!!

They must think that flysimmers are stoopid or sumthing.

I dont want to be combative at all but just very curious.  Why the big push for this engine type?  I wonder what significant change one would see within the cockpit or general operation.  A 321 or A319, sure, I get it... but engine type??

You have to admit, the gulping oil sound at startup, worth it for me and I don’t even own the plane (yet)

He could have suggested that to me with my USB disconnect problem but he didn’t. He was methodical in checking all hardware before deciding the powered USB hub was incompatible with W10.

He’ll be familiar with ProcMon and I’m sure will identify the issue in a few minutes.

This sounds like very good advice, Jack. As I suggested in my PM to you, maybe we could press the issue with Jetline Systems a bit harder first. Unless the PC is out of warranty, one would hope they value their reputation.  Additionally, they should at least have some unique insight about MSFS since they do install it.  I’ll leave you alone now, but still rooting for you!
