Low fps on big cities with 4090.
FrankR409 replied to yonipony's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I have virtually the same machine specs, all ultra (or highest setting) and terrain LOD at 400 and am still getting over 90 fps over New York for example in full 4k, so it isn’t that. Hope he finds what it is. -
My new system is up and running, the result were better than anticipated, not just in terms of frame rate, but in terms of fluidity as others have remarked. I went from an 10900/rtx3090 system to my new 13900/rtx4090. My settings are all ultra (or highest allowed) with DLSS quality and Directx 12beta. The previous benchmark test for me was simple. Leave my home airport of KEKM in the Steam gauge 172 and fly west over KSBN around 2500 feet. I would use a preset weather of clear at 2:00 pm. My frame rates would generally be around 53 frames per second. Not bad really, and it certainly would go lower with clouds and weather in non benchmarked flights. Today I simply used live weather and local time around 9:00 am. I knew I was in for an unbelievable treat when I was laying at 160 frames on the runway, and absolutely no regression from that in the air either using the same flight plan as before, in fact I managed anywhere from 160 to 165 frames in flight with very little deviation. The panning was completely fluid as well as every other aspect of the flight. With the new hardware setup and frame rates now tripled from before, I am completely amazed. If anyone is on the fence over migrating to the newer 40xx series cards, my advice would be to just do it if you can. The 13900 has a role in this as well as the newer ddr5 memory, so I think this isn’t just the card, but still incredible nevertheless.

Like others, I have have never seen the benefits of it and leave it off, from the beginning. I do understand why those with slower internet connections might get a benefit though. I have never had stuttering on any hardware that I have run this simulator on either, but can’t really credit the cache being off to being a factor in the equation as I have no comparable to measure against. I’m not surprised to hear that having it off gives a better result though having said all of that.

Can’t wait my 13900/rtx4090 is arriving this afternoon. Should be functional not later than Saturday. (so excited that I somehow double posted!)

I am expecting a new system soon with a 4090. My 4e inch 4K monitor runs at 60 hz and is not gsync. If I am understanding this, I would cap the simulator at a fixed frame of 60? above that there would be screen tearing? I ask as with my 3090, at higher altitudes I have frame rates much higher than 60, and do not notice tearing. appreciate your replies.

I was so lucky recently to be carted around in a Citation XL and get a chance to have an inflight review of systems and then have have lunch with our pilots to talk more about systems. The developer did a fine job of modeling HJet.

My system based on the 13900 and 4090 is due mid-December. Can’t wait to get things going around my holiday time. Thanks for the encouraging results Ian! -
This isn’t on you, as you merely found the video and reported on it here. Perhaps FBW should more carefully vet who they invite to their discord accounts. it’s also reported here in FSNews. https://fsnews.eu/new-flybywire-a380x-for-msfs-in-game-footage/

Anyways, back to the OP’s question…it doesn’t look like MS will getting around to it anytime soon. Pick one of the two options. I have Accuseason and find no fault in it. Also, they don’t disappear from the grid unpredictability, nor do they come to this website accusing people of stealing their Intellectual Property.

They are both great, the 737 is a bit more complex, but you can’t go wrong with either (or both!) -

I have been following this fellow, and chatting with him a bit as well. He is of course flying the real thing, and has some nice short videos. In this one, he is working through the preflight and programming the flight plan on the FMS. Other videos from him show the plane start, etc. The plane is a great buy, and I know I have enjoyed flying it. Watch the speed, it will get away from you quickly. -

The HJet is indeed Good! In anticipation of one of my clients picking me up Monday in their C560xl, I thought it might be fun to get myself in the mood with my own private jet. It did take a few turns for the worse before I got the knack of flying it, but with the learning curve out of the way it just gave me the most perfect landing I have ever experienced in MSFS. Navigation is just spot on, and fine tuning the landing speed was almost perfect as well. The work done by this single developer is the most amazing part of it all. Very happy flyer here! -

So interestingly enough, in the video that prompted me to ask if the plane can follow a flight plan, the vnav also went out and wouldn’t re-engage and the pilot had to go to vertical speed instead. -

I am contemplating getting the HJet, but noticed in several videos it doesn’t seem to follow the FMS flight plan without the pilot using the “Direct To” feature in the fms. In at at least one video it was blamed on the Working Title G3000. Does this plane follow a flight plan on its own from waypoint to waypoint, or is this intervention required? -
I am using Rex, it does what it supposed to do for less money I believe and they didn’t make AVSIM posts every so often accusing people of stealing their code.

FSRealistic Pro is out!!
FrankR409 replied to JETPETER2's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
I don’t know who is right, and who is wrong, but I accidentally flew without the product on today and the difference in realism is profound. I don’t know how they do it, but with the product off, I lost the same feeling of immersion that I had when it is turned on, so what ever it does, or is supposed to do, it does it very well. -

Oh good, mine said “what a landing”. If I recall, there was a bunch going on at that moment, ha ha! -

Yes, 6$ and various misinformation. Great product, very immersive and a huge improvement. Just had a decent landing in KDTW and it said “what a landing” I hope it wasn’t being sarcastic, I tried really hard to flair the 737.
