  1. Sorry, when did we get ground friction? Did I miss the memo again?
  2. Aeronca Champ, perfect example of form and function. ACA Scout a close second.
  3. So, dumb question here but what's the latest speculative/notional date on the SU15 thingy release?
  4. The only thing we know for sure is that the community will be in an uproar about one thing or another. No matter how well it actually goes. 🙂
  5. You guys keep talking like this and the developer is gonna delay the release just to add this feature, and we'll never get the thing...
  6. That's the way. It's odd to see some users get into a snit because there are such frequent updates, when all you have to do is blow them off until you have time or interest to install the latest one.
  7. Manual is here: https://docs.miltechsimulations.com/v/miltech-simulations-ch47d/
  8. What I thought would be a straightforward familiarization flight at KHLI ("I'll just see if I can start up the engines") turned into a couple of hours of playing around. There's a lot to appreciate with this one and she definitely proves that big girls can be fun! Very cool to have sling loads... Grandpa and the kids appreciated getting a better boat...
  9. Here's the official product page. Given the feature list and apparent quality of the product I was expecting a slightly higher asking price particularly compared to some other helo releases. I'm pleasantly surprised and will certainly be picking it up: https://miltechsimulations.com/products/miltech-simulations-ch47d
  10. Thanks for passing this along - looks very exciting!
  11. Greetings everyone I hope your virtual flying escapades are going well! Here's the question: Does anyone know if there's a mappable command to the rocker switch on the AP that adjusts the vertical speed (shown below as highlighted button with "VERTICAL ADJUST" callout)? I'm just trying to map it to a switch on my VKB STECS and I'm not using anything like Axis and Ohs or FSUIPC or any other addons, Just hoping there is a default sim command. I've tried INCREASE/DECREASE VERTICAL SPEED, INCREASE/DECREASE AUTOPILOT REFERENCE ALTITUDE and INCREASE/DECREASE AP PITCH HOLD REFERENCE but no bueno. For reference this is in the BlackSquare Baron 58 with the KNS 81 AP but I believe this autopilot switch type is common to many other GA aircraft and so would love to make a common mapping I can use across the board for aircraft so equipped. Flying the FSW Lear 35 with it's cool control bindings has spoiled me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
  12. An additional question might be, how long did it take you to type all that? Seriously though, apart from postulating on the general ills of society, it's not clear what your point here is other than the integration of some add-ons into MSFS is not always seamless. But it's also not much different than turning wrenches, albeit virtually in this case, on most anything else out there whether it's an aircraft or plumbing or a vehicle or whathaveyou. Foozle's Law of Shade Tree Mechanics applies: "Bolt-on parts, many times don't". Most people who read your post(s) are going to be willing to assist you with something, if that's what you're after, but not if you can't concisely identify something specific you need assistance with.
  13. I never imagined that things would escalate so quickly after I happened to mention FSR 3 support in MSFS to my fellow flight simming buddy when we were having a few beers in a local brewery. Someone at a nearby table must have overheard it, then mentioned it to someone else and... well, here we are. Everyone, please let Asobo know that I am perfectly OK with them taking their sweet time to implement FSR 3 support. Sorry about all this.
  14. I tried this widget and like it. I wanted to try this adaptive-LOD thing that all the kids are talking about these days but didn't want to go through a setup/configure process and then have to back it out if I saw any negative side effects, so this makes it really easy. Yes, there is a popup window that shows for a fraction of a second as you transition through the configured altitude but it's no more immersion-killing than other things like the occasional micro-pause or having Mrs. Stoopy wait until I'm struggling with a crosswind on final so she can ask me questions about yardwork projects or finances...
  15. Because when the product is free, you are the product. 😉
  16. Used to love doing this stuff with the old fsrecorder tool from Mathias Nunguesser (sp?) Back in FSX. It was so easy with that tool! Shame that we still dont have something realky comparable. There is a way to do it with FRC but its a bit convoluted so I'll play with it over the weekend and write it up if no one else is able to assist. Was just doing a formation flight with a recorded instance of the FSW Lear 35 last weekend but forget the exact steps right now Supposedly SkyDolly is able to do something similar but I never had any luck with it myself.
  17. Not to go too far O/T but your post absolutely resonated with me - only because I was fortunate enough to get some time in the C-141 simulator at Norton back in the late 80's thanks to a friend in the CHP who had connections. Was a big deal to a non-pilot like me (2 successful landings!) The wife and I lived in Mentone at the time on the other side of Redlands, downstream of the departure of RWY6. It was always fascinating but a little unnerving to see you guys take off and then slowly sink a little bit down toward the orange groves while building up speed, heading directly toward our house before turning South.
  18. I'm confused. Are we comparing actual aircraft to own and fly or comparing addons for a flight simulator? If the latter, don't things like operating costs and safety (not to mention the type of lav) take a back seat? Or are both of such a sufficiently high level of quality that the lines have become permanently blurred?
  19. Like many others here I have them both, and can't resist comparing to vehicles: The HJET is like my Honda Ridgeline. Call it the RidgeJet. It's sensibly designed and functional, surefooted, capable, hauls just enough stuff to be useful, not the most exciting thing in the world but will get you around without any drama. Automated to a high level with glass cockpit, Bluetooth, VNAV, Adaptive Cruise Control, nice displays with checklists built-in, Lane Keep Assist and other NannyBot safety features. Can't do a burnout but handles great and is decently quick. Fairly economical to operate. The FSW Lear 35 is like my Mustang GT. Call it the LearStang. Much more stylish, faster, old-school cool, steam gauges, no VNAV so you row your own altitude with a manual trans and Pitch Synch through a Hurst shifter, louder thanks to dual Garrett TFE731-2's breathing through a custom FlowMaster exhaust, a bit more cramped but much more rewarding to fly correctly, and lots of fun to cruise around in. Higher fuel burn but much more likely to put a grin on your face at the end of the flight plus chicks dig it. Really you kinda need both.
  20. Likely that's the Trim Clackers clicking (or knocking) with every trim adjustment while on AutoPilot. They seem to be much louder with the 1.05 release. You can disable them in the tablet, at the bottom of the first page.
  21. It's like the Cessna 414 on steroids. That it's getting so much love from 2 of the best repainters out there is icing on the cake too.
  22. Confirmed per the hole that my butt bit into my seat cushion during my first landing after the update!
  23. I'm not a bizjet guy but I do have very fond memories of learning the fine art of shooting touch'n goes with the wireframe Learjet way back when in the FS4 days circa 1984 or 5 or thereabouts. So I couldn't resist the temptation to pick up the new FlySimWare Lear 35A and try my hand at it again after all this time. Lots of fun to look around and spend time figuring out how to crank it up from cold & dark and get the ol' gal ready for a trip around the pattern, Suffice to say I love the way it flies and feel this is the rebirth of a beautiful relationship. Not perfect yet (fr'instance, got the doors open after landing and shutting down but textures not completed in that area yet) but I'll be enjoying watching this beautiful lady mature...
