  1. Well I think their purpose with the cryptic post was to get people talking about it again and speculating about what their intent is etc. Ultimately when a company implements a marketing campaign like this its just to get people to think about the product again. Let's face it, they've gone many months without providing any updates regarding whether or not the thing was still even under development. I wouldn't be surprised to see an initial release with a handful of voices, and then later they release another voicepack with voices/accents from various countries.
  2. Greetings Gents, Would any of you be willing to post a quick video or sound clip of your results? I might be interested in using one of your processes outlined above to enhance the immersion of my TTS voices. @mkurver
  3. Dave, Thanks! Very helpful information and I really appreciate your support. I'll run some tests tonight when I return home from work and let you know if the issue is resolved. -Ben
  4. Thanks for the prompt response Dave, much appreciated. I had a couple of follow-up questions I was hoping you could address as well.... I was a little confused by the Pilot2ATC guide, should I run both the Taxi import AND the gates update or would it only be necessary to run one of them? From what I have read on other forums I would also need to be running Pilot2ATC as admin so that the makerwys app can run effectively?
  5. Greetings All, I was hoping for some help with an issue I've been experiencing and trying to troubleshoot for the last few days without success. I have purchased a copy of Pilot2ATC and have installed the Lorby Addon manager per the instructions in the guide (installed into my main P3Dv4 directory where the .exe is located) and have run the export feature in the addon manager so that the Pilot2ATC can read my complete scenery library including all the addons. After using the export feature the window in the Lorby addon manager instructs you to leave the window open and run the scenery scan in the 3rd party software (Pilot2ATC) before clicking the restore scenery.cfg My understanding per the installation guide for Pilot2ATC is that in order for Pilot2ATC to update its scenery database I would need to run either the taxiway or the gate import feature. I have run both of these and do not see any of my addon airports showing up. Is there another process I should use to import my scenery library? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm just at a complete loss at this point. For further information, I'm primarily a bush pilot and am trying to ensure that my Return to Misty Moorings Airports show up in the database. What's interesting is that I have several other programs that also use the makerwys application have been able to successfully detect these airports and add them to the database (Airhauler2, FSCaptain, etc). Any help that folks could offer would be greatly appreciated!
  6. Nick, thats great news! The inability to control spot views with mouse or spacebar is my biggest gripe with EZdok right now, so I'm super happy to hear this is being addressed. Keep up the great work! One question I did have is on the Effects control panel (the one with all the sliders). In the "Surface" section you have sliders for rigid, bump, and no passable. Can you explain what each of these sliders represent? Specifically, I'm confused by the no passable setting.
  7. I also used to use CP and found that although it did include some cool features (such as importing community cameras) some of the effects I was most excited about were cumbersome to set up (exits/virtual walls). I also found that their version of the dynamic breathing and head movement did not feel very "realistic" and at least for me, was very difficult to tweak. I also noticed that I had some framerate issues and micro-stuttering with CP active. When I purchased EzDokV3 I was pleased to see how loaded it was with features. I was particularly impressed with how the turbulence system and Dynamic Head movement all links up to Active Sky and responds to the weather in your area. Any tweaking that was necessary was all done through slider bars which was extremely intuitive as well. Even more impressive was that they seem to be exploring how to better simulate ground friction as well. You can modify the stiffness of your gear/fuselage and how it responds to the "bumps" on the surface of the landing strip you are on. In addition, you can even modify in real-time the bumpyness of the strip. As a bush flyer this feature alone is pretty cool! I also found that the engine thrust simulation on the aircraft also feels more realistic than CP as well. Overall I think you're comparing Apples to Oranges. CP is a great piece of software that allows you to set up internal/external/world cameras with relative ease. EzDokV3 really is venturing more into what I consider a more realistic physics simulation and although it does have a internal/external/world camera feature I did find it a little cumbersome to set up. Just my thoughts 🙂
  8. Disregard... I'm an word not allowed 😞 Apparently you need to install the freeware versions first THEN install the payware version, once I did this everything looked as it should. A little counter intuitive if you ask me but at least it's working now.
  9. So I sprung for the $20 package and installed everything per the instructions but I do have FTX Global and Vector enabled, it almost looks like the global textures are showing through the photoscenery as there is a lot of mismatched tiles. Any suggestions on folks have theirs setup?
  10. Thank you gentlemen. I've used the freeware versions in the past, but I'm open to shelling out to for the upgraded version if its as worth it as you say. Photoreal with no autogen is just a really an immersion killer for me. Do you guys use any of the addons they have as well?
  11. Hi all, I was curious if anyone has any recommendations for some good Hawaii scenery for P3D 4.4? I know about the Hawaii Photoreal project by the flightsimjewels team, but the current lack of autogen or custom objects makes the surroundings feel pretty bare. Also know about the FSDreamteam Hawaiian Airport collections but from what I understand is that they are only the airport areas and not the whole island chain. Just looking to see if anyone knows a good package out there that I'm not aware of yet? Additional Info: I also have FTX Global, FTX NA, FTX Vector.
  12. @simbol, would you be able to share an example of your enhanced beacon or strobe effects? Those are what I'm most interested in at this time. I've got a few aircraft whose effects are.... underwhelming to say the least. Would love to see what you were able to accomplish on a small GA aircraft.
  13. I would definitely be interested in this video as well Simbol!
  14. Highly recommended! They are currently refreshing all their scenery locations to work beautifully in p3d v4.4 I'd encourage you to go ahead and register on their site and utilize the support forums if you need anything. Much like here they are a great little community of flight simmers. Again, please be sure to read the requirements on their getting started page to review all the necessary addons needed to for their scenery to work correctly.
  15. I'm also a huge fan of the Misty Moorings freeware. However, it should be noted that misty moorings does require some payware to work correctly. For their Blue Wave Energy Partners freeware (one of their prominent Alaska scenery packages), you would need ORBX Southern Alaska, ORBX Global, ORBX Vector in order for everything to align correctly. Plus you wouldn't want to be using 3rd party mesh software such as Ultimate Terrain... In essence if you're looking at freeware always be sure to read the readme files and requirements. Especially for high-quality freeware there could be payware addons that are required for it to look as intended.
  16. It is a great program but you need to be sure that any addon airports have AFCAD files otherwise the program will not detect them. Usually this is not an issue but as a bush flyer many of the Misty Moorings strips are not detected because they do not include this information. That's not a slight against Air Hauler 2 or Misty Moorings, just thought it would be worth mentioning. I remember FS Passengers allowed you to basically "begin" your flight within the sim and it would log your flight without having to choose destinations from an external program and worry about the issues I mentioned above. It essentially just detected when your aircraft took off an when it landed.
  17. Sure when I get home tonight I'll give it a shot and post something up here. I'm really trying to use the .fx files from the Carenado aircraft since they have the best strobes/LED beacon I've seen. But if you have any freeware suggestions with great effects I'm open to those as well.
  18. FSCaptain is pretty good with its own FCDU that you use to control announcements, payload of your aircraft, monitor passenger satisfaction, get assigned parking, etc. One of the other neat features is it even evaluates your performance on the flight. You're able to customize a lot of the components of your airline including failures of your aircraft. Another option for simulating communication with your passengers in addition to actually monitoring their satisfaction is a upcoming release from TFDi called PACX. Click the link to see the demo video and learn more.
  19. Great point. I assumed they were .fx files because they showed up in the effects folder and when I add them to the aircraft .cfg file they actually do show up on the aircraft, they just don't blink like they normally would when the switch is thrown they just stay on. That leads me to believe there is simply some other input that I'm missing that I would need to add to the models or the panel.cfg Any ideas anyone?
  20. So I've learned how to change aircraft lighting on vehicles by identifying the appropriate .fx files on the p3dv4/effects folder and then modifying the aircraft config file lights section with the appropriate lighting names. Most of the lighting effects I've been able to swap around are from various freeware aircraft that came with their own specific custom lighting or the shockwave lighting package. However I also have a vast library of payware aircraft some of which have excellent LED beacon and strobe effects. What I'm trying to do is utilize some of these lighting effects from the payware aircraft on some of my other payware aircraft or freeware fleet. To be clear, I'm not re-distributing these models nor am I suggesting that should occur. This is purely for personal use. I've noticed that when I assign the lighting effect to the new aircraft I would like it work on the light does light up using the default lighting command "L" or "O" respectively. Instead, it simply lights up and does not actually blink. I assume there is something I'm missing that would be triggering the effect? To be more specific I'm looking to utilize the Carenado strobes or LED beacons. Any thoughts?
  21. Figured out what my issue was as well. I reviewed all my scenery entries with Lorby's tool and was able to find that I had two entries of the same scenery located in 2 different locations. When I deleted one of the repeating entries it ran normally and was able to finish installing!
  22. That's a bummer, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I'm hoping I don't have to resort to that lol. I might just try updating the p3d client to 4.1 and seeing if that fixes anything. Did you ever hear back from Tegwyn?
  23. Yikes! Kevin would you be able to list out any non-aircraft addons that you are using (weather, environment, graphics, etc.) Also did you use the migration tool at any point?
  24. So can anyone confirm that disabling addons is the solution for this issue?
  25. I should note that my issue with the indexer being stuck on the weather/themes folder is on P3D 4.0 not 4.1 Have tried some of the fixes suggested above but they were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. It appears to be something with the indexer.
