I have not seen fountains in mine. Mind you, I had trouble finding the White House.

I managed to re-install my XPOI after years of gathering dust. I had to download a new add on manager from https://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_xpoi.html I tried a flight using Drzewiecki's Washington DC and was a bit surprised to see that the White House was not pin pointed! I managed to find it but I would have thought it would be one of the first buildings they put in their database as it must be a major tourist attraction.

I cannot comment on SE as I have only got the boxed version but up till a days ago I was running FSW and Aerofly FS 2 via Steam as well as my seldom used unoptimised and buggy non Steam FSX. Then I moved my PC out of the study and lost Steam and my games. So I have taken the opportunity to unload my complete FSX installation and to reload it in the recommended order to optimise it and all my add ons. I am pleasantly surprised what a bit of care and tweaking achieved. I just find it nice not to have to be concerned about Steam and those constant updates for a while and I wondered if there were any other retro users out there too.

Just out of curiosity has anyone else gone back to FSX boxed version after problems with Steam?

I have the same issue and would love to know how to fix it.

Personally I do not care what they do with the weather providing you get the option of putting the clouds a couple of thousand feet above the ground everywhere. Clouds on the ground at Big Bear are ruining that fine scenery. The moving map tool .... well if I remember rightly from their website FS-Control sold for a heck of a lot more than 23.95 on their website although it had a few more features including real weather. I might buy the moving map but probably not the view tool.

I am not deleting my FSX. I have spent thousands on it over the years too but if you divide years into cost it really does not add up to much for the amount of entertainment it gave and still gives me. I do have two of the latest, FSW and Aerofly FS2 both bought through Steam. I will buy the DLC's for them and watch them develop but I have found that if the internet goes down and you cannot get onto Steam then I cannot play them. One more reason to hang onto good old FSX. Still a very good sim imho.

Sorry and no offence but now I am getting confused. So Orbx PNW for FS2 will not be the same as PNW for P3D and neither will be as good as Ortho4XP which is photo real? I thought that FS2 is photoreal. Our NYC DLC is truly amazing.

I dont think youneed to run a 3rd sim. P3DV2 is already supported by Orbx for the PNW region.

We need something like a motorised hang glider or maybe an FSX like trike to fully savour the great scenery.

Bit of musing here apropos of nothing in particular but the sims I use at the moment are FSW and also Aerofly FS2. I am constantly finding that they are almost complimentary in that what I am unhappy about in one is usually present in the other. Aircraft for example for example. No jets or military planes in one but plenty in the other. No world wide scenery in one but the other has it all. I think that tells me that we need diversity and should not be "one eyed" in our sim choices. I do not know if we will ever have the complete sim for everyone but I do know that not everyone would be happy even if there were such a product.

I am happy to use the Washington demo till it is "fixed" for FSW and am very glad to have bought the NYC X V2.0 that IS labeled as FSW compatible. Drzewiecki makes such great stuff.

Stanislaw Drzewiecki replied to me on his website forum. He said FSW installation is a selectable option on his sceneries but only for testing purposes. I think he will let users know when they are fully compatible.

Like a few others I bought the very first FSW compatible scenery which was NYC X V2.0 and I am happy with it although there are no airports in that scenery it functions very well and is extremely detailed. Yesterday I downloaded the Washington X demo and as Drawyah pointed out back in August I found that there is an option to install to FSW. However, because that does include an airport scenery KDCA Ronald Reagan International it does not work properly. You can fly to KDCA but not from there. Try flying from there and I get a CTD. I suspect this is to do with no jets? If anyone knows, is Drzeweicki fully onboard with FSW? Getting info out of them is like milking a bull. They have a brilliant Seattle scenery that is nearly finished that would make any user salivate. That would be a fantastic add on for us.

Is there any commercial interest for producing more scenery or aircraft yet please?

Just out of curiosity I flew in my other simulator this morning Aerofly FS2. I noticed that from above they too have the 2d cardboard effect in their trees. Maybe all simulators are similar? Sort of surprising given it is 2017 and these are new products.

Did not mean to be harsh. The colours are great, they are just too 2d for me.

Hi rjfry. Are you saying they are better in your P3Dv4 than FSW? I think that in Big Bear scenery they remind me of the trees and buildings in Virtual Sailor from 1999.

Those trees ..... anyone else notice they are 2D like cardboard cut outs? The colours are good though.
