  1. That's an awesome roadmap of cool features. Is it possible to add Varjo Aero support to the list ? EDIT - Fantastic, just joined your Discord and saw the great news about the Aero
  2. That was my sense too. FPS didn’t seem greater but it felt smoother in VR
  3. v1.1 is now on FlightSim.to https://flightsim.to/file/27114/authentikit-tuning-app-for-trim-wheel-sensitivity-and-more Updates Built in preset for Honeycomb Bravo Automatic button detection rather than having to know the number of the input button Tray icon start/stop/exit Windows bug fixes
  4. True - the ideal would be that MSFS has a configuration that allows you to say how many pulses you get per revolution of the wheel, or auto-detects it, so that you can exactly match sim to real. That isn't the whole story though, as then there is the question of whether the aircraft is modelled correctly. In my experience they aren't, as the the developers err towards usability whether it's for people using mouse scroll or key press rather than accuracy. So, until all that is resolved, an app like this allows you to set it the way you want - either an accurate match of rotation speed or a comfortable/natural/precise amount of movement per angle of rotation.
  5. Getting better all the time. Some of it is the balance of the device. I just got the Varjo Aero and it balances very nicely and feels light Reverb G2 is good, but Varjo Aero, well it's pretty much there..... I know what you mean. You are disconnected in VR. I don't mind it... mostly. Again getting better all the time, there's a thing out where you use a real pen tablet on your knee and can scribble on it and you see it in sim I remember that. It was wierd. I felt like the real world was a sim. But it only lasted the first couple of times for me. Personal choice I guess. You are far from the only one who has got super excited, loved it and then dropped VR though. If I had a massive wrap around screen I may feel differently.
  6. Put the two together. I got so carried away by VR I started a home cockpit freeware project (AuthentiKit) primarily for VR i.e. only focus on the tactile stuff you want to grab hold of in VR and put it in the right place. Spitfire cockpit here - sets up in 5 mins and reverts to a desk even quicker. Quick release plates so I can swap from my Spitfire controls to my Bird Dog Cessna controls (latter are WIP). I'm even thinking of making overhead flight controls now as I'm rather tempted by that twin otter.
  7. sky4sim would work fine. I have it and like it. Best of the 3 I've tried for the job.
  8. Anyone tried it? To gain FPS you’d need to render at lower res and have NIS rebuild the pixels edit: ok, i’ve checked this out and it looks very useful. Written by a microsoft employee, openxr dev as a personal project. It takes the openxr scaling and applies 70% (configurable) downscale and then seeks to restore sharpness with 50% NIS https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/nvidia-image-scaling-nis-and-vr/474969/25
  9. Just upgraded to 12900k, 32gb DDR5, gigabyte 690 board, zotac 3090 on Win11. Built by Overclockers but not overclocked as i understand, I have zero overclocking experience. How much am i missing out on here? The curiosity/tinkering aspect has no appeal to me and i don’t fancy upgrading my water cooler to anything beefier. Also not sure if it would need a bigger PSU than my 850w.
  10. This video seems to be saying that upscaling and sharpening along the lines of what DLSS could do for MSFS can be available to us without Microsoft offering explicit support which they have not shown much enthusiasm for.
  11. Mark says at the end that "it won't correct you if you make a mistake". Does that mean that FS Academy won't say that I'm too high above the glide slope or point out any other errors or score me on my landing?
  12. Thanks Ray. That's a great post (as usual) and includes so many things I do with mediocrity at best. If I had something that graded all these things and gave feedback I could act on I think it would motivate me to get them all just right.
  13. I’m looking for something to help me improve my flying skills in MSFS. Better circuits would be one thing and some VOR nav challenges. Is FSFlyingSchool any good for this? Any feedback on this software and any good alternatives would be welcome. https://www.fsflyingschool.com I fly VR only btw.
  14. I had an issue with elevator trim wheel fighting me and returning to a position. Turns out the latest SU7 had enabled all the auto assists including auto trim
  15. Next flight control is out. This one's a beauty with new tech included - hydraulic damping.
  16. Can i add something to the debate? Do i stump up the extra for DDR5 or just sell the one kidney for a new DDR4 i9-12900k system? Think i’ll actually go KF
  17. Who do you trust in the UK for a full system/combo deal? I’ve only bought from overclockers in the past and their aftersales has been very good so i’m a bit cautious about going elsewhere.
  18. Thanks for that information. Guess a 10900k would be just as good as a 12900k then. Still, might as well be futureproofed. I like to skip a few generations each time I upgrade.
  19. Same here, googling "i9-12900k" most days for latest leaked benchmarks. My poor 3090 is being choked by my aging 6700k
  20. Where did you copy the ebag folder to? I'll have to check if mine still works - must confess I haven't used it months though.
  21. Releasing on November 18th. The very day I retire. The stars are lining up well.
  22. I just watched this Reno video. My eyes are on stalks! Prior to this video I wasn't that excited about the Reno pack but now.... Flight sim meets iRacing. AND it includes a P51 Mustang - I must get this AuthentiKit baby built ASAP!
  23. I got the same. It might have been to do with the fact my drivespace was too low. My notification showed a failure message. Then a wierd thing happened and my steam credits for the ju52 seemed to get spent without my input on an airport. Anyway zendesk did reply after 48 hours or so and sorted it.
