  1. If I may ask, where was this? I did a quick google search but nothing came up for a Level D 777 sim in Miami. If I ever go down to Florida I'll be sure to book myself a couple hours as well. Sounds like you had a great experience! Speaking of Level D sims, does anyone know of one within reasonable distance of central New Jersey. Preferably a 737, 777, or 747 sim because those are the PMDG aircraft I have experience with.
  2. I followed QW's development on their 787 for a long time, and I bought the aircraft the day it came out. It's certainly not bad. Pretty good actually. But the thing is, I stopped flying it after two weeks. There are a lot of great things about the QW 787, but it just doesn't feel the same as when flying something by PMDG. The QW 787 has things missing, or not working as intended, that PMDG have incorpated into their aircraft near flawlessly. I'm so used to the quality and detail PMDG has put into their aircraft that anything less just doesn't feel enjoyable, sometimes frustrating, even if the aircraft (like the QW 787) is actually pretty darn good for the sim world. Take, for example, the ability to put TESGA270/20 into a PMDG FMC. I often use that to help plan circling approaches. I can't input that in the QW 787. At least, it hasn't worked when I tried. Maybe I've been spoiled by PMDG. Who knows. But I honestly think that if PMDG made a 787, it would sell as if the QW 787 wasn't even a thing, simply because it's PMDG and the 787 is a popular aircraft.
  3. Hello, I was just wondering if a fellow pilot could assist me with the autopilot of the 777 (in other words I'm not asking for PMDG staff to help me). Today, I'm flying from RJTT to RCSS. Usually, my flight planning involves a copy and paste of the flight plan of the real flight I see on flightaware. Sticking with this, the real flight is using the AA1B STAR into RCSS. Looking at the chart, I saw something I've never seen before. It says to join (and subsequently fly) a DME arc. Is it possible to program the FMC of the 777 to fly said arc? Or do I have to fly that manually? If it is possible to have the autopilot fly the arc, how would I program the FMC to have the autopilot do so? Thank you in advance (and sorry for the inconvenience), James
  4. I have and I see the part where it says you must uninstall and download the new installers. I will definitely be doing so. My post was not asking if we had to do so. My post was asking why we had to do it again. Nor was it a complaint. I was just curious.
  5. We have to uninstall the 747 and 777 again? Aren't the installers for those updated after uninstalling and downloading the new installers from the previous update?
  6. Well my eyes seemed to glance over that. You're right. My mistake.
  7. Actually, the QW787 will be released summer 2017 for both FSX and P3Dv4 (and the plane will be 64bit in v4). QW made a post about it on their Facebook page as well as pricing. But I definitely agree that people shouldn't expect a PMDG level simulation coming from QW. I think a while back QW stated they were only modeling 80% of the aircraft (can someone confirm?). And not to mention they don't even go into simulating failed systems much at all. But even with that being the case, it will be the most complex aircraft QW has ever done. And I do believe it will be an aircraft that is enjoyable and one that people will spend many hours in.
  8. And it seems like I am in fact incompetent at searching for liveries. You are right John he does have one. Thanks!
  9. Hopefully I'm in the right place. If I'm not, my sincerest apologies and if an admin/moderator could move the thread to the right place that would be very appreciated. So I was looking online and I could not find any up to date EVA Airways liveries (excluding the hello kitty liveries...) for the 777-300ER. PMDG does have an official livery for EVA Air but it is outdated. The airline has since taken on a new livery scheme for their triple 7s and future 787s. Are there any skilled painters out there willing to take on a request? If so, thank you in advance. Best Regards, P.S. It is possible that I may have missed an up to date livery while looking online, so if anyone does know of one feel free to point out my incompetence and provide a link.
  10. Hello everyone. Today I bought the QW 757 since I saw a thread on steam that explains how to get it to work in steam edition. It said to first download the FSDT add on menu, which I did. However, upon installation of said menu, my menu resolution got severely messed up to where the menu has such large dimensions the fly now button is under my hot bar and I can't click it. I went into the settings to change the resolution but nothing changes to resolution of fixes the dimension. I have uninstalled the add on menu, restarted my computer, and directly messed with the CFG files. Nothing fixes the issue. Before I go uninstall and reinstall FSX (which I really want to avoid due to all my PMDG aircraft and VRS superbug), does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance,
  11. Thank you all for taking some time to help with my question. Some of you have asked whether I am running a laptop, yes I am. That being said, is it possible to upgrade the CPU of a laptop or do I have to go build a new machine? I don't have the budget to build a better computer up to the standards which people normally run FSX or P3D for a couple more years but I'll save up eventually. Follow up, Jude said to aim for a i74790K. Are there any other must have components you guys would recommend (to meet the recommended requirements) because I'm going to go for the cheapest option possible for all other components not vital. Thanks Again, James Ward
  12. Hi All, I just got the Queen (along with everyone else) and I'm noticing that it is taking a much heavier toll on my simulator than the NGX or Triple 7. I know it's early in release and the majority of people here have limited time with it, but I'm open for any suggestions on improving framerate that one might have so far. In case anyone is curious, here are my system specs (first version Alienware 13): Processor: Intel® Core i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.40GHz Installed Memory (RAM): 16.0 GB System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-Based Processor Graphics Card: Intel® HD Graphics Family NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M Hard Drive: 1TB Thanks, James Ward
  13. Is it safe to assume there will be more official liveries after release? James Ward
  14. I'm with you man. An Eva Airways 747-400 would be awesome! I take Eva Air 31 and the returning 32 every summer. Triple 7s run this route now and I'd wish they would use a 747 on it one last time before they retire their 747 fleet.
  15. Observing that there are already two freighter EVA Airways liveries, is a passenger livery planned? B-16401 holds a very dear place in my heart as it was not only the first Boeing 747 that I flew on, but the first aircraft I ever stepped foot in. James Ward (I haven't been a forum member long enough to create a signature)
