Not the -8.....its about the 744 My throttles are Ok. When reaching TOD in cruise thrust goes to IDLE as it should. Not in early descent however....

Hi all, I was wondering if I just remember wrongly or if it is not working correctly: When on a Vnav Early Descent (started within 50NM of TOD) upon capturing the Idle descent path the AP pitch mode changes to VNAV PATH as expected. However the Thrust mode stays in HOLD letting the speed build up. I was expecting an automatic switch to IDLE followed by HOLD. I saw that 2 times now since the latest update....So not sure, if this is supposed to be like this ? thanks for any clarification

Thanks Dan , I know that reverse thrust is most effective at high speeds . So the overall result is not fully realistic due to sim limitations. Thats exactly what I thought... of course I refer to landing rollout with AB 1-3

Apologize if that has been discussed already some time ago.. As far as I understand Autobrake provides for a certain deceleration rate taking into account the usage of reverses. That means that the deceleration rate will be the same with or without reversers, the reversers thus mainly helping to reduce wear on brakes ... At least on a dry runway with normal braking action I suppose Am I right that this is currently not modelled in the PMDG 744? (At least some tests I just did suggest that as the stopway with reversers using the same autobrake level is significantly shorter than without reversers) I can imagine that to be something quite complex in the given P3D environment though...

As far as I understand by using derates in certain conditions TOW can be even INCREASED due to the possibility of choosing lower V1 (due to lower VMCG)

Thanks Dan...so that is about 12 knots above what I have experienced...quite some difference actually....very strange I will try some more scenarios and also how much I would have to trim down to get the same result as you did....

Dan, if you dont intervene at all, will it start rotating allone anytime after Vr? If yes, at which speed? Would be interesting to know if its just a matter of some knots or if it doesnt rotate allone until quite highr speeds... also PD3v4.3 btw

To ammend that: I just tried the scenario again. Same result. Rotation started 1-2 knots before VR without any intervention ZFW was 518.6 FUEL LOAD (set by directly entering the amount , not by ground operations): TOTAL 338,0 --> Center 81,4 / Main 2+3 83,5 / Main 1+4 29,3 / Res 2+3 8,9 / Stab 13,2 PAX GE variant

Hi Bryan, I am a bit confused now. I already opened a ticket yesterday and already got some answers to it (ticket number: 4049): Strangely I got some answers by email stating that PMDG said that " RAAS was working in the -8" !! I dont have the -8, I am talking only about the 747-400 BCF and F models best regads

My calibration is definiteley fine, I always calibrate controls before each flight It rotated until liftoff, I allowed it to do so in order to see what happened (it was a nice rotation rate just as if I had done it manually :) ....NO BOUNCING.. its was ROTATING cant remember nor define the exact speed, maybe 2-3 knots before... exactly this Never had this behaviour before the update. And I did quite a lot of flights, believe me :)

I experienced the same behaviour with the 744, never saw that before the recent major update.. TOW was around 856000 (payload set by RANDOM function) / Flaps 20 / TO 1 derate / CG 22,6 / Trim settings 6,7 and Vspeeds as suggested by FMC (and except for V1 identical to those suggested by topcat) : Vr = 170 Aircraft startet rotating on its own some knots before reaching Vr.....

Hi Bryan, any news on that here? I opened a support ticket with PMDG but they are saying I should contact you. So now I feel left allone a bit with this....I never had any problem with the module until teh recent major update for the 744... best regards

Please apologize if I bring this topic up again.... I also brought that up in the FS2CREW support forum (where I suppose it rather belongs to) and Bryan told me some days ago that he tried to contact PMDG in regard of that but didnt get any response yet. I meanwhile made another attempt installing everything from scratch. I ran the RAAS uninstaller, I uninstalled the PMDG 744 and also Aerosoft Airbus, I cleared all leftover folders from RAAS. Then I installed the PMDG again from scratch...Same result: No RAAS in those models (BFC and F), but working in PAX and ERF I installed Aerosoft Airbus and RAAS is working there, too So I really dont know what else to try. Would it be possible that somone from PMDG could give a statement about that. Is it clearly a FS2CEW issue? Or do I need to file a PMDG support ticket ? No hurry to solve it, but would be great to just know that somebody is looking at it ...thanks in advance

Just another little observation: I noticed that the SQUIB TEST buttons for CARGO AFT and FWD in the BCF-model dont work - there seem to be no clickspots anymore since the last mayor update. However there are two clickspots directly over the IRS ON BATT light and slightly above which act on the ENGINE SQUIB TEST buttons...I suppose that should not be that way ? I didnt check in other models...

Not needed anymore with the latest version 4.86. Just make sure that you run it as administrator...

I posted that also in the PMDG forum - with not much feedback actually...There seem to be some people which are having problems with RAAS since the last updated (which was a required full install, and I tried it already twice) But I didnt get any response from anyone to my suggest to also try if it is model-related as in my case.........

Hi all, since the last mayor update to the PMDG 744 I am having a problem with RAAS (the restricted version). The module is not loading (not appearing in the P3D menu) for BFC and F model. However it is loading and working for PAX and ERF models... (BTW it also loads and works with Aerosoft Airbus A319) In ALL models the option in the aircraft RAAS INSTALLED is set to YES !! What could be the problem here? Any help would be highly appreciated ! best regards

Those steps will unfortunately not help if you have the same problem I have (and which appeared with the latest update to 744): Maybe you can check if you have RAAS working in other models than the one you normally use... maybe the option "RAAS INSTALLED= YES" is getting ignored in some models.

Thanks Dan, just to avoid missunderstanding. I am talking about the restricted version of RAAS which came with the 744 (and also with Aerosoft Airbus for example). So this one I suppose should and will only load for the aircrafts it is restricted to, doesnt it? The dll.xml entries are there (I am using P3D V4.3) , and it also gets loaded and is working perfectly for PAX and ERF models of the 744. The question is why isnt it loading for F and BCF models also ...? So , could that be something in the model files which might be wrong ?
