  1. This thread is all over the place. Let's calm it down a bit gents. 1. The Carenado c172 is a good bird. Documentation is lacking on how to activate/install the SVS. Jim, if you would like help please PM me and I'm more than happy to guide you. That said, if you open the SimObcjets/Airplanes/C172_G1000 (or whatever it's called) folder you'll see a SVS manual that is, at best, a minimum start guide. 2. SVS can in fact be applied to other Carenado G1000s (a la Phenom). I'm not an expert, but from what I gather, someone with beginner experience in XML can add it to any of the Carenado G1000s. Anyone up for the task? 3. WebSim Connect isn't charging anything for SVS at the moment. That said, it's absolutely correct that you can enable or disable SVS. If, whenever that point arrives, there is a subscription involved and you choose not to invest in it, you can fly the aircraft just fine without any loss besides SVS. 4. As a rw pilot and someone who's been in the hobby for over a decade, Carenado is fine. Bugs galore at times, but beautiful aesthetics and adequate immersion for sitting behind a monitor. Frankly, I enjoy this hobby for the ability to relax while still experiencing what I love about flying. The rw stuff is where I get my jollies off with procedure porn. Alex
  2. Nope, not dreaming. Still buggy. G1000 is still a marginal upgrade over the default GPS. That said, the SVS is cool. Just wish I could get it to work without error after error.
  3. Synthetic Vision is an interesting pieces to the puzzle...not unique to the C172 though as it would appear.
  4. Ken, As much as I’d love to tell you that it’s my sim, it’s just a photo. Maybe one day we’ll have textures sharp enough to pass for a photo :)
  5. Strange. Glad to know it's not just me. Twenty6, I'm referring to the this button on the center console.
  6. Do I have a bad installation or is this a bug with the P3Dv4 installation of the Phenom? In v3 when you advance the throttles and are not configured for takeoff, you get an audible warning sound. Also, when you press the Takeoff Config button you get either a "Takeoff Okay" or "No Takeoff" warning. In v4, those sounds are missing. Just me or is it a v4 Carenado bug?
  7. Thanks for the reply Twenty6. Sad to hear that it's not possible.
  8. You see the option to install in to P3D v4?
  9. Might be a sign of things to come... http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php Notice the product page now says V4 compatible.
  10. Not to add insult to injury, but has anyone else noticed that the "T/O Okay" or "NO Takeoff" sound files are missing in P3dV4? Or is it just me? Also, on those that have the Meridian with the Navigraph extensions installed, are you getting the annoying double press on the first letter of an entry? Minor annoyance, but would definitely save some time if there's a way to fix it.
  11. Forgive me if this has been asked before. I tried a quick search and wasn't able to find anything. Is there a way to install the GTN and cover the radio stack in the CJ2? From my understanding having the GTN installed makes the radio stack redundant.
  12. Having the same exact issue with the Phenom 300. Carenado recently released (two days ago) an updated Navigraph installer. That resolved the symmap.dll CTD and now I can enter waypoints and origin/dest fields without a CTD. But any time I try to select a PROC, I get a CTD and the dlls vary. Frustrating to say the least.
  13. Looks like the Phenom 100 is plagued by the same problem. Glad it's not just us.
  14. The interesting bit is that I have the Meridian with the Navigraph extension, and short of a few annoying bugs (the first key stroke when entering a navaid always results in a double letter entry for example) it works flawlessly. No CTDs or anything. So I think that either the update to the G1000 on the Phenom was botched, or it still isn't fully x64 compatible. Needless to say, I'm more and more tempted to just install the GTN mod.
  15. For me at least, the CTD would originate then I enter my desination airport. It would be a symmap.dll error. I did a complete reinstall of everything and am now getting a CTD when I try to select a procedure for any field. The CTD varies between different dlls. On a side note, the updated install is also missing the "Takeoff Okay" or "No Takeoff" soundbites. This is one of my favorite birds and it's frustrating to be grounded.
  16. Has anyone installed and successfully programmed a flight? I keep getting a CTD every time I try to select a procedure departure or arrival.
  17. Cees, Was the extension not compatible with v4 prior to today? I downloaded three days ago and the website said v4 compatible. However, I have been getting CTDs with the Phenom Navigraph extension. The Meridian extension worked well.
  18. Argonox, that problem can be solved easily. It was for me at least. Just go into your fonts folder in Windows and reinstall the fonts in there. That issue is caused by the font not installing correctly. Once you do that, the text should be appear.
  19. Recently installed a fresh copy of P3D4 along with the Phenom 300 and the Navigraph Extension. Bird loads fine and flies fine. However, any time I try to enter a flight plan, after entering the waypoint and hitting enter, I get a CTD. Anyone encountered a similar issue? I've installed the Carenado Meridian along with its Navigraph expansion and that operates flawlessly without any CTDs.
  20. From the Carenado team: "Official Carenado Statement about the recently released Prepar3D version 4 June 9th, 2017 With the recently released version 4 of P3D, all our aircraft have been grounded. All of them were developed for 32-bit, and don´t work with the new 64-bit platform, causing internal logic incompatibilities (no problem with the model and textures). The solution is not too complicated, but requires work. We know how to make them compatible, and we will start working on them soon. The process will take time because we will have to update more than 80 aircraft. We hope to accomplish this task in the next months and start re-releasing a fair amount of updated aircraft each month. For now, customers could be confident about their investment because all of the upgrades will be free of charge."
  21. ...to reiterate: FREE OF CHARGE UPGRADES
