  1. 27 FPS? Is that all? You really should be getting 40+ FPS with that machine, even using those addons. Are all your settings maxxed out?
  2. So I am trying to "re-word" my question as I am not sure if my other questions were clear enough to get a correct answer. Please bear with me: So when ASP4 "injects" weather into the sim, will it find the weather for the weather station that is nearest to you and load that weather everywhere in the world, or will it check individual weather stations and load each weather stations' weather above where each weather station is? Thanks for bearing with me and answering my questions. Caleb
  3. Ah, ok. That's what they're called. Rain shafts. I didn't know that. Does anyone know of any weather engine that does simulate rain shafts (seeing weather even though you are not in it)? Thanks.
  4. Ok, thank you, it seems the real-time dynamic texture reloads are the only thing I won't have if I don't use ASCA with ASP4. Thanks again.
  5. I'm sorry if this was included in your previous answer, but from what I understand, when using ASP4, I can see rain, clouds, low vis etc. next to me even when you are not in the rain, correct? Or do I need to be in the rain to see rain? I have encountered this in real life many times, where we live in Florida you can fly between and around thunderstorms and you can see the thunderstorms next to you. I was wondering if Active Sky simulates seeing the weather when you are not in it. Sorry for so many questions, I just want to be really careful about weather engine purchases in the future.
  6. Ok. Thanks for the reply. Are there a list of features somehwere that are not achieved without ASCA besides the real time texture installation? Thanks
  7. The "In Cloud Motion Effects" as advertised in ASP4/AS16, do I need ASCA for those to work or can I use another addon like REX SkyForce along with ASP4 and still have the "In Cloud Motion Effects"? Thanks.
  8. I might get PTA eventually, but I won't rush it. @Adamski_NZ I will keep your presets in mind when I do get PTA.
  9. It still is a bit slow but thanks for the update Jim I see that things are still being transferred.
  10. Testing a reply to see how long it takes to post.
  11. Yes! We live in Florida so elevations aren't a problem. There's a Comanche 400 in the hanger for trips that require a high altitude. I've heard people get those up to 15,000 to 20,000, even though that's far above the service ceiling!
  12. Ok, thanks. It's good I found this out before I bought Tera Flora... Thanks again.
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems that I am not missing out on anything huge, it seems like option 2 and 3 are true. I'll probably hold of for now. Thanks.
  14. This new version of P3D sounds interesting. I've never heard of a P3D "SP"....
  15. Thanks for the reply. That explains things.
  16. I saw this here: https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/154890-ftx-hd-trees-with-ftx-england/ Does this mean if I have an FTX Region and if I have TDFI's Terra Flora, I will not see the Terra Flora trees in the FTX Region, as the FTX Regions have their own trees that overwrite the Terra Flora ones? Thanks
  17. It seems as if the site is still a bit slow. Is this just me or are others still seeing slow loading here?
  18. The longest I remember was back many years ago in a 1956 Cessna 172 we just bought from somewhere in Virginia (forget the name or ICAO) to our home in Delray Beach, Florida, FD08. One stop for gas and to pick up a friend I think. It was able to get as high as 8500 feet I think, but that was before we got an annual inspection and the mechanic said the timing on the cylinders were messed up and he "fixed it" and now it barely makes it up to 4,500!
  19. I don't have PTA. Am I totally missing out? I do have some other graphical enhancement addons such as REX Sky Force and Texture Direct though. Which one of the following would any of you say is true? 1. PTA is an incredible addon that really boosts your graphics more than any other graphics addon. Buy it ASAP. 2. PTA is great addon but I wouldn't rush to get it if you don't want to. 3. PTA is just "another one of those graphical enhancement addons." You don't need it anytime soon if you have REX Sky Force and Texture Direct Thanks.
  20. Yes, I have considered getting a 500 GB (or similar) SSD but I think I am good with what I have for now. I currently have a 2 TB SSHD. I want to not get such a small drive, especially with Orbx's new TrueEarth photoreal products for Prepr3D v4 coming out in the near future that seem to be in the 75-120 GB size range. FS loading and PC bootup speed is not very important to me, I am mainly concerned about FPS. I have heard that the type of drive does not effect FPS, so I think I am good with what I have for now. When/if I get (and can afford) a now PC, I will go latest and greatest with an SSD with hopefully over 30 TB of capacity.
