Anyone still bothering with the achievements?
MrFuzzy replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Nice necro... really, 19 USD for what? Achievements are already tracked in the store (MS or Steam), you can see the percentage of completion for each icon. BTW in the meantime I completed all of them, so I take the opportunity to brag 😛 -
Frame generation for all RTX cards
MrFuzzy replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Impossible for now, we need MSFS native FSR3 frame generation for that. -
That's crazy because the news would have rather damaged PMDG's reputation 😄

How to remove MSFS from a computer I sold.
MrFuzzy replied to Vineguy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
You should have formatted the SSD/HD, not only remove MSFS... there is a bunch of personal information in a PC, no matter how you clean it. Even formatting, something can be recovered but it's much more difficult. -
What a Performance Upgrade!

Fenix or Asobo A320 v2... Thanks -
What a Performance Upgrade!
MrFuzzy replied to iFlySimX's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Hi, can you please make a short test at LFPG? I have very bad performance at this airport (30-35 fps), with or without FSLTL and I wonder if there's an issue with my installation. -
TAA for quality, DLSS if your GPU is the bottleneck. DLSS / DLAA is deep learning AA at native resolution and does not bring any performance benefit. Displays and water from low altitude will look bad in both cases and there is no remedy. It's just a subpar implementation in this game, as well as DX12.

Confused about performance metrics in MSFS
MrFuzzy replied to RaptyrOne's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Yes, you are right. Even upgrading the CPU would not bring great benefits compared to the cost. Ideally a 7800X3D would give you maybe 10 more fps but would require a motherboard replacement. With a 14900K the improvement would be negligible. -
New beta update 1.37.8.0 out
MrFuzzy replied to turbomax's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
LOD & draw distance will continue to be sacrificed for payware addons, to accommodate the needs of XBox users who lately experienced avionics shutdowns and other issues on addon aircraft. The "memory optimizations" that Asobo boasted in the last interviews are aimed to that. Something must be offloaded when the shared memory is full and scenery elements are more expendable than avionics. Hence the reduced draw distance and the stuttering when panning the view and reloading the assets. There was no need to "optimize" memory usage on PC, where we have many sliders to accommodate every kind of configuration and also considering that on high end PCs both RAM and VRAM are underutilized. The only hope is that FS 2024 will have this aspect improved, even though FS 2024 will be an XBox Series S title as well. Sadly, we will never see again in MSFS the graphics quality that it had when it was still a PC game only: -
Censorship in official MSFS forums
MrFuzzy replied to AnkH's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
LOL, I posted the pre-alpha video in the reduced LOD thread today, to show how the graphics and LOD / draw distance have been degraded through the years, and it's been removed completely after a few minutes, without even a notification on my account or a "tagged by the community". Now they started removing posts without leaving any trace. Absolutely pathetic. Enjoy and share 😄 -
I did not notice worse LOD but I haven't tested it before and after. What I know for sure is that the performance of this beta sucks big time, and SU15 was supposed to increase it...

Major stutters all of the sudden
MrFuzzy replied to Danthepilot77's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Idem... Hopefully FS 2024 won't be a beta for FS 2028 😄 -
MSFS + 4090 + 7950x3D = surprising results
MrFuzzy replied to RobJC's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It's probably a matter of settings changed in between the reinstallation of the GPU and its drivers. Considering that people hear sound improvements just by putting spikes underneath the CD player though, it could be placebo as well 🙂 -
Same here. Don't hold your breath, it's pretty much abandonware since the payware A300 release.
-
That's DLSS frame generation, I thought you meant the AA technique...
-
How do you set DLSS + TAA??
-
For me it's smooth and stable for now, even horizon panning and bloom stuttering seem improved. One thing I noticed - and found confirmation in another thread - is that ground handling and landings have become even easier than before. Even small GA aircraft seem to be on rails. I will have a better idea after further testing anyway.

MSFS LAGS/FREEZES Only on touch down
MrFuzzy replied to DLOXNG's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Minimum specs and hard disk in 2024... -
Yes, when implemented it will be not only more official and supported, but also not affected by flickering of static elements (ATC window, handlebar, subtitles...), which will be excluded from the frame elaboration.
-
If you have a 4000 series, nothing. If you have an older card, it opens the possibility to use frame generation.
-
But remember... no interrupts, no in-put!!! 🙂
-
Correct, save the time and ignore the MSI utility for your GPU. Welcome
-
I am using it and it's OK, works with FG as well.
-
Basically interrupts are needed in order to process any input (for example a keypress). Each time you do something (move your mouse, press a key, move your stick, etc.) the system has to stop its elaboration for a short time in order to process the input. With the old-style interrupt request (IRQ) system, there is a limited number of hardware lines that can address the requests and peripherals and devices can cause overlaps, since IRQs are shared. With the MSI system, the interrupts are requested by writing a value in memory. Having a portion of memory at its disposal, the command is delivered along with the interrupt request, preventing a device query on what is the nature of the input and thus minimizing the latency. P.S. MSI = Message Signaled-Based Interrupts, not the motherboard manufacturer 🙂
