  1. Hi

    I just need some basic advice on the built-in a320. Obviously the aircraft has 2 engines, and I can get them running.

    The problem is I need to use my joystick for getting throttle, out of both engines at the same time! I can start the engines, and even move the aircraft if I point to a throttle, but I need to do that with both engines. Where do you do that on the joystick?

    I hope that makes sense? Please help,

    Gary

  2. I'm having real trouble with this account. I don't log out, but after a while it logs itself out , and it never uses the same password I have I before.

    So.. every time I try to log in with the password I created before, it says it's the wrong password and keeps me out. The only way to get back in is to change the password, so it's secured.

    Can you help, please?

    I clicked on your "Gaz on Facebook" link (stalking! 😄) and noticed where you're from.   I used to live in Easington Village. 😎   Small world!   Living in Sedgefield now and sometimes fly from Fishburn airfield.

    Yeah, I'm from Easington. I really like it there! I've moved to Birmingham and now in London. Heathrow is my favourite place!

    Request from @JYW and @virtuali . I have a big problem with this account on Avsim. In order to get into my account I have to ask for a reset. I can never use an account password twice, it always says I have the wrong password, so every login requires a new password! 🤕

    Any help would be good.

  4. Thanks for that. Isn't Simbrief only available of the PC?

    The problem for me is that I gave it the route using it's own route finder, but it doesn't want to figure out the fuel amount - those are two different things.

    In addition to getting the weight and balance window up, how do you tell it to add fuel, there's no OK button.

    I used to use p3d on the PC. But I don't want to use the PC now.

    Please help!

  5. Hi

    I am neww to MSFS and I have maaged to get quite a bit running (on the A320). I do have a problem with calculating the amount once the fight plan is loaded.

    if i get MSFS to create a flight for me, how much fuel can I determine I will need? I would have thought the WEIGHT AND BALANCE window would help, but it just doesn''t take the plan into account.

    Thanks

    Gary

    As a first step to resolving CTD's I always first delete the compiled shader Cache and the Scenery index .dat files

    Both will rebuild with nice fresh and clean values.

    How would you do this?

    Just for info, this is always execrated before my flights:

     @echo off
    echo before LastDownloaded
    del /q %appdata%\HiFi\ASP3D\Weather\LastDownloaded.Wx
    echo LastDownloaded.Wx deleted

    echo Clearing of Shaders
    del /q "C:\Users\mail\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Shaders\*.*"
    echo shaders emptied

    pause

  7. I'm only flying on Aerosoft A321, but I think this may be an error - not thinking of the aircraft (general  problem??):.

    The entire error message is:

    What could possibly be the problem? It appears to be a problem with terrain.dll, but I'm not an expert on this.

  8. Thanks to @pgde , I have managed to get this working:

    After the software for extra traffic, you need to go into the file system and take the following file to copy it : C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\ .  Then you need to create this folder in the Documents folder : C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\, then copy the content from the v5 folder to the v4 folder.

    Bother folders should have the following files in folders:

    <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
      <AddOn.Name>FsDreamTeam Addon Manager</AddOn.Name>

  9. I do have this folder: E:\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\

    The add-on.xml file there contains what was in my previous post you're replying to.

    Should I have a separate xml file for your 2 extra entries? If so, where? I can't put it in the E:\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\ folder as that already has the add-on xml (above).

    Gaz

  10. Interesting, I don't have that folder on my system.

    Do I need to add it manually? Right at the moment I added it to in an existing file E:\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\add-on.xml file. The content of that file here:

    <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">

        <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utLive Aircraft</Path>
      </Addon.Component>
    </SimBase.Document>

    Do I need to put the utl_client.exe files and the utLive Aircraft path toward the end of the file. Should those two new entries you gave me be in  a different file?

    Thanks, Gaz

  11. I've done the above, and it works, but not for some. Example, 'out of the box' EGSS still not working, but the same with 'out of the box' Bristol does work! Neither does LEBL !

    This has never failed before on some airports! It worked or completely failed.

    Why do some big airports have aircraft working, and some not?

  12. Well, I found the problem and fixed it. I have notes for my self, but once I installed the airports, it didn't work. The following is my notes, but one of the apps I have entered on top stopped it working, and I have had to do it again (fixing things):

    In my case, add this text to the E:\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\add-on.xml document. Note that the default files are in the standard Documents folder (normally C:\Users\mail\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FsDreamTeam Addon Manager\add-on.xml) :

    <Addon.Component>

    <Category>EXE</Category>

    <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utl_client.exe</Path>

    </Addon.Component>

    <Addon.Component>

    <Category>SimObjects</Category>

    <Path>C:\Program Files\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic Live\utLive Aircraft</Path>

    </Addon.Component>

    It seems to have fixed my problem. Others came up with this problem and fixed it, I have just documented it as it works on v5.3.

    Gaz

  13. I have found a problem with the scenery. This is annoying because I found it before and I got help with which text file I need to modify, but I don't remember it.

    This time, I added certain airports, and only one works with the traffic. Isn't there a text file I need to change?

    • I have added EGNT which worked with the traffic.
    • I have added EGKK and EGLL, neither of which work with the traffic - there is none
    • EGSS, which is set to default traffic - I have not modified it - has no traffic. I am confused here.

    Here is the link to the Scenery Library: https://photos.app.goo.gl/mnK79FryTYawiYyn9

    Any help would be good.
