  1. Hi guys, I have a Saitek ProFlight Yoke that I've had for quite a while. Never had any problems with it. I just noticed recently that there's a pretty big dead zone when turning left. There is no dead zone turning right. I had it calibrated through P3D and then calibrated it through a registered version of FSUIPC (with the joysticks disabled in P3D) and it does it in both cases. It's not horrid or anything, it is certainly usable, but it's a bit annoying. Any thoughts on causes or solutions? Thanks!

    GTN 750

    Sure. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/115857
  3. Sorry fellas, but I have P3DV4.5 with Environment Force, Sky Force, UTX Caribbean, FlyTampa St. Maarten, A2A Cherokee, JustFlight 152 and Arrow III, running at 30-50 FPS on fantastic settings. It looks absolutely gorgeous for VFR flights, works wonderfully for IFR with the GTN750. I have my iPad Mini connected for running the 750 on a separate touchscreen. It's click and go - no fuss, no delays, no snags. I sit down and 90 seconds later I'm flying around the Caribbean in weather synched to real-world. The scenery is absolutely stunning. If MSFS can beat this out of the box on my system (8700K with no OC/1080) I'll eat my hat. Anyone who thinks MSFS is going to blow the world away on today's hardware and without a zillion MBPS internet connection is friggin' dreaming.
  4. Hi guys, I bought the Carenado Archer yesterday for P3D because it's as close as I'm going to get to my '73 Challenger apparently (which is a 180 with the Hershey bar wing and the updated panel, but with the ASI in MPH and not knots). Is it possible to change the ASI to one with MPH instead? if I find a suitable gauge, how do I swap them out? Thanks!
  5. My post got deleted, apparently contrary opinions aren't welcome here. Good. Enjoy waiting. And I hope you're young.

  7. I sent them a rather unsubtle email about this yesterday. Problem is, you sometimes don't get the sale price on other websites. Took me 90 minutes to buy a plane yesterday. I told them I could've just stolen it off TPB in 3 minutes if I had wanted to.
  8. I've heard the same. It's meaningless, nobody knows the specs of the PCs. It was at a controlled, invitation-only Micosoft event. Absolutely meaningless.
  9. I'm sure they were, on $10k PCs. I hope you're young and in good health.
  10. This is the height of idiocy, in my opinion. Don't hold your breath. FSX was released what, 15 years ago, and most people still can't run it maxed out. So enjoy the wait. I hope you're young.
  11. "Is it me, or is XYZ a performance killer on my Windows XP machine?!" How are we to know what the problem is? I have both programs you mention on my 8700K/1080 machine, and guess what? I love them. Set it and forget it. Gorgeous scenery.
  12. Anyone who thinks that the MS sim is going to look like the videos and run on an everyday computer, I've got some waterfront property to sell ya. Ain't gonna happen. I am taking absolutely zero consideration for MS Flight Simulator in any decisions I make. None. I have P3D running beautifully right now and I intend to keep it that way.
  13. What exactly does this software do? It will project traffic in the sim as ADS-B traffic on ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot?
  14. Already provided, that's what God made links for.
  15. Couldn't possibly disagree more. The Guadeloupe freeware is patently amazing.
  16. PS: Dude also did St. Bart's: St. Bart's Freeware If I didn't already have FT SXM, which includes TFFJ, I would download this in a heartbeat.
  17. Hey guys, I found an absolute gem: freeware of the island of Guadeloupe. So far as I can tell some dude just did this for fits and giggles. It's almost 10 GB, and rivals absolutely any payware I've seen of anything. Simply OUT. STANDING. Guadeloupe Freeware P3D Whoops - already posted this!
  18. Just to confirm, it's not a laptop.
  19. I've noticed this a few times recently - flying VFR, everything looks fine. But if I fly IFR, the runway and taxiways look normal, but where the grass should be is all black. And once you're airborne, the ground has a glow to it that illuminates through the clouds. It almost looks like the ground is burning. Anyone experience this? Could it be because I don't use Environment Force when flying IFR?
  20. I say "new" - the one from May. Tell you what, significant performance increase. Probably 30% overall, but at TNCM, where I was getting sub-15 FPS with FlyTampa's scenery, now I'm getting 35. It says "Fixed performance issues seen on some systems and configurations." Definitely true for me.
  21. Just to throw this out there - an absolutely ASTONISHING freeware of Guadeloupe: https://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/68/912 It does not rival any payware out there, it beats any payware out there. Just an amazing job!
  22. I don't know how dumb I can possibly be, but I installed this without thinking about it. Started up P3Dv4.5, elevator control doesn't work, VJoy driver doesn't work, so I can't use RealTrim. Just rolled back to 1809, hope it fixes everything. (1903 also screwed up other things - VPN no longer working, etc.) Edit: rolled back to 1809, everything back to normal.
  23. Fair point as well about the MVA! The specific approach I noticed this on is in a flat area, and the MSL altitude that ATC gives you is 200 feet above GS intercept, so it's a perfectly safe altitude. But it's below the altitude specified at the IAF, and I just wondered why. That may be the answer.
