  1. P.S Just as a roundup of the type of changes I'm talking about when handling models and textures:

    1. Each livery texture needs a corresponding model directory instead of all pointing to the same model (This one I don't understand why, it seems painful and wasteful if you have to duplicate models, maybe symlink everything?)

2.Each DDS texture file needs an accompanying .json file that describes its channels and alpha (which I just copy from another plane and rename)

    3. you need the layout.json at the top level of the package that lists all the files with filesizes (theres a drag and drop tool for this)

Overall it feels like the level of pain required to get custom AI traffic installed and working jumped by 3. Hopefully a tool like OCI comes along to take care off it for you because managing it manually is near impossible now which is a shame.

  2. Update for anyone else following along with MSFS 2020 trial and error. (thread in Alpha India Group forums)

FSX model files (but not P3D converted ones) and liveries have been shown to work in MSFS2020 once you conform the package to the new format, adding json files for everything etc. But it does crash to desktop pretty quickly with these MDLs.

At least for a few moments I was able to see an FAIB 737-800 with the Southwest livery in MSFS2020 using PSXT 18.7 (That model isn't PBR so it was almost glowing at night time) With the amount of work it took me to do one livery I can't see converting hundreds of liveries or a few dozen aircraft types without automation into the new MSFS file structure.

Also through the Developer menu you can access the list of simobjects and from that list you can get the old AI Traffic view for each plane.

It's all very hacky right now but you can see bits and pieces under the hood that could work (some time this century)

  3. Thanks, I was just trying to isolate which planes were loading because I was getting crash to desktop if too many planes were loading.

Turning off player traffic and reducing PSXT distance to 5nm let me see traffic work for a while...MSFS did eventually CTD though eventually. Probably too many 747-8s etc loaded? These are probably too heavy to be used as AI Traffic models.

  4. Just a note about AILGenerator, the MSFS directory trees are really deep, I reach the AIG path character limit in the UI very quickly and can't fit much more than the path to the Community packages level.

    Excited for each step forward.

  5. Nico,

Thank you for jumping on this. Really appreciate the exploration and letting us know.

I tried the new FSUIPC 7 beta too. Simconnect works well enough to remap controls but destroys frame rate when it's in use. They have a lot to fix with simconnect.

    All the best.

  6. Hi,

This is an old issue but I searched the forum but didn't find any posts about "landing gear".

I find that some planes with large landing gear trucks like the FAIB 747, FAIB 767, FSP 787 & 777 their wheels tilt back up into an angled position after landing, as if the altitude of the plane is a little off the ground. This tends to happen as the wing flex is changing, but that might be a coincidence.

I've tried playing with the static_cg_height in the aircraft.cfg for AI model but this only affects the new planes spawned at gates, not planes that have just landed.

Anyone else confirm this? Kiek, is this an airport altitude value issue or a data provider issue?

    All the best!

  7. I've been running 18.1 64-bit with P3D v4.5 HF3 for about an hour and the log is so far free of any of the simconnect errors that 18.0 had almost immediately.

I have installed v5 HF2 on the same machine so maybe that version of simconnect is installed, but 18.0 64-bit refused to connect to P3D v4.5.

Intentional or not, I'm happy it's working as smooth as 17.6 so far.

    Thank you.

  8. I also started getting "No 1sec system event"

The only other simconnect addons I can think of is the latest ActiveSky and couatl.exe from FSDT scenery.

IMHO, P3D v5 isn't quite ready for prime time even thought HF2 fixed some stuff. v4.5 HF2 was pretty solid.

Thanks always appreciate the work you've done!

  9. Switched to 18.0 today (downloaded again 30 minutes ago for your update , but i'm getting these errors which seems make simconnect unstable and make Coautl scenery (FSDT etc) exit and disappear. (Getting this with V5 and V4.5)

Is there any way I am allowed to run my existing 17.x which was working fine up to now. Also 64-bit PSXT doesn't connect to P3D 4.5 anymore (correct?)

  11. Tested in both P3d V4.5 and V5 Hotfix 2, PSXT17.5 give me the same messages in both.

Each aircraft that is duplicated is one that is reported in the log as "will be removed", so maybe the removal process is instead causing another copy to be created somehow? Is it possible to make this new check an option? I think the Simconnect add message from p3d might be too unreliable as all the aircraft seem to be correctly created initially.

Also if I quit and restart PSXT right away so we are looking at the same traffic, different aircraft get the errors the next time, so I don't think it's livery related.

  12. Reposting as new thread:

Using V5 and PSXT 17.5 64-bit and  I've been getting these types of errors in the log

AAL1331  N147AA   DFW ->DFW  A321 stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed
ANA5     JA732A   LAX ->NRT  B77W stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed
ANZ2     ZK-NZN   AKL ->LHR  B789 stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed
ASA278   N843VA   LAX ->SJD  A320 stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed
DAL1543  N821DX   MSP ->LAX  B752 stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed
N100TL   N100TL              C208 stream size: 10, no add msg rcvd from SimConnect ?!, will be removed

    and seeing multiple duplicate planes.

PSXT 17.1 does not give me these errors and works normally, I know this is new since 17.4....

Also do not get these errors with P3D V4 with 17.5, only since v5. For now I have to stick to 17.1

Anyone else? or just me? Is it due to input data stream specifications? or purely to do with messages back form P3D?

    Thanks!

  13. Hi,

I've been having PSXT also close itself for at least 3 or 4 point releases. Very hard to track down, cleaned out all possible liveries errors but still closing at random intervals, sometimes OK for a day, sometimes multiple times in one day.

Has happened on two separate machines, which lowers the probability of bad ram.
