I wan't slowly appearing "pops", shouldn't be hard to do with shaders and stuff, with the alpha value. I also want morphing transition between lods, there are numerous papers on the internet that explains how to do that. Please focus on that stuff MS before focusing on anything else, it's very important. And the LOD distance is extremely low, if I have a high end graphic card like RTX 2080, I'm expecting LOD distances at least 5 times larger. Without the pops, the stuttering and the flickering. Plus I feel like it goes from "full density" to nothing" very quickly. The level of detail needs more variety

Microsoft cannot dissolve Asobo, they don't own it. Asobo is an independant company. They can however, defund the flight simulator project, but I think it would be unlikely.

Volumetric clouds are extremely hard to handle compared to the clouds we knew before. There are no more things such as cloud textures. It's purely volumetric data and shading which gives the visual result. MSFS clouds looks fabulous in some lightning conditions, but also ridiculous in some other situations. I hope it will only get better. Personally, in terms of volumetric cloud rendering, I haven't seen anything better in other softwares.

I found this very surprising that MS would buy 3d model from PMDG. They have access to very talented modelers at Asobo and they have a partnership with Boeing. I wonder how much they paid.

I don't believe the author is right I both develop in vulkan and opengl There are no background process that switches textures between RAM and VRAM in OpenGL OpenGL and Vulkan both allow to send textures directly to the VRAM, its nothing new. The only advantage of Vulkan is its multi thread abilities and gives more access to certain functionalities

Its going to be weird because PMDG & Fslabs will be competing against MSFS MSFS have good developers in large quantity but they lack knowledge and experience in coding airliners But PMDG & FSlab aircraft will give them all the ressource they lack, what would prevent MSFS developers getting their ressources from 3pd aircraft ? In some way 3PD will be in a position where they will indirectly help their competitors (MSFS) who will make them go away once they acquire their ressources and experience

I'm moving a lot in real life and for that reason I have a laptop, and no ram is not cheap when you have to buy a new laptop just to add some ram...

I only have 8gb ram and I never had problems in any software but it seems like msfs is only chosing people with 32+gb ram for tech alpha, why ? it is quite worrying, if they're not confident at this stage that below 32gb ram, we may have OOM errors with specs like mine
