  1. Only license/install fixes it seems. Update – December 13, 2022 - [12/12/22] Resolved login/connectivity issues for some users - [11/08/22] Prepar3D v5 compatibility updates - [09/27/22] New license handling and application support for additional license types - [05/10/22] Implemented new multiple licenses for a single user account/email address support including simultaneous usage of multiple licenses/devices on a single account NOTE: This is only for licenses activated on or after May 10, 2022. Previously activated licenses using separate email accounts, as previously required, will continue to use individual email/accounts NOTE: For new licenses, to associate the new license to an existing account, simply use the standard LOGIN method with the existing email account, and new installations of ASP3D will ask for the new license key on first login, where you will enter your new license key. - [03/17/22] Fixed issue with Installation showing error message regarding VC++ runtime redistributables, if a newer version was already installed – Also updated message if a general error during VC++ redistributable installation occurs, indicating that operation can normally continue as long as the redistributables have been installed previously, or will be installed manually
  2. Yes it's an extension, not standalone. Need one of the other two, Envtex or Envshade.

  4. If you are using Active Sky (am guessing you probably are) then there's no need to keep Rex open. It's an old issue with Rex where it crashes simconnect after around 6-7 hours.
  5. Are you using Rex Sky Force and do you keep it open all the time? The way you have described your issue points all the fingers to Rex sky force which has a bug that crashes simconnect after around 6-7 hours of flight freezing all the other apps.
  6. You don't need to. Your issue is using 4.5 which was always an FPS hog. Upgrade to 5.3 for $60 and you will have miles better performance than 4.5. I am using P3D v5.3 with "very high" settings on just a 1080ti and it runs very well on that. If you don't trust me, try the $10 developer license for a month and see if yourself. 🙂
  7. It's weird if anyone thinks that a defence and space research organization would stop doing what they are doing and start concentrating on a VERY tiny population of users who play flight sims. I've mentioned it here from time to time that P3D was never targeted to us casual users. The only reason why it "started" gaining popularity amongst us 0.000001% users in the world was since there was nothing out there and we as regular sim users should be thankful for that. Imagine after the abandonment of FSX had P3D not happened? Will we still be flying the beautiful planes that we currently have in sims? Will PMDG and FsLabs continued to be in existence? I use xplane too but I can see a lot of shortcomings in that sim mostly regarding the weather/scenery/lighting. Also I don't understand why is everyone (not everyone but a select few of course lol) is actually angry that LM is quiet about their plans? When were they even vocal about it? I've been using P3D since v3 and they never revealed their plans to us. Remember the v5 release post? Just one week before the release BAM, "We're releasing v5". They were always like this, not sure why would a new game in the market change anything in their agenda or make them stop manufacturing F35s and start concentrating on P3D game. The world doesn't revolve around gaming, there's a lot of other things out there too. 😄 Regarding future updates, I am pretty happy with how 5.3 works. It's stable, perf is excellent, all my addons work in v5. What else one can ask for? I still use P3D for long hauls (I use all sims :P) So as long as it works, its good for me. Even if there's no update (which is very less likely), I am still happy since we just don't have ONE sim now. 😉
  8. I am a little lost about what the current topic of discussion is, pilots looking out during cruise? reporting posts? scenery?
  9. Now he will run to reddit saying that "aww boohoo avsim mods threatened me" (like he did last time) and show a screenshot of your post while not showing the garbage that this guy has been posting here for a long time now.
  10. Why are you so worried about what other people like or dislike in the first place is what is baffling to me really 🤣 That's like saying "hey a new burger spot has opened, stop eating in the old one".
  11. This topic had already gone off-topic 4 pages ago.
  12. What?? lol What silly point am I trying to prove here when this issue persists in even the latest versions of the game?? Feel free to check out these links if you think am trying to make the "sim look bad". https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/photogrammetry-melted-issue/392526 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/melted-buildings/282136
  13. And we're back to the old MSFS vs P3D argument again...........🙄🤓
  14. Has anyone got a reply from him? I emailed him a week ago without any response so far. I appreciate doing the hard work but keeping download links away from the public is not healthy for a "community" when there are thousands of free software available on the internet.
  15. Not sure if you tried this, go to this folder "Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons", there will be a folder "ActiveSkyP5", delete that folder. Open ActiveSky and it will ask you to install the connector. Try opening P3D after that.

Check in Event Viewer (Its a Windows app) it should tell you what caused the crash or point you to something. Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application. Look for "Errors".
  18. False news, Yes they remove the links to older versions from their website but they still remain in their cloud and you can download it if you still have that link....
  19. Even if it does, you can still stay with the older version which is a good thing.
  20. Not sure where you are coming from but I have been running P3D with administrator privileges for years without any issues..........
  21. Do you by any chance use any Razer software? I was getting micro stutters as well and I figured out it was the Razer software doing that. Also which nvidia driver version are you on? The last two drivers are known to cause issues with P3D. The current stable version for P3D is 512.59. It also depends a lot on your settings. If all the above is good, then I'd suggest you clear your shaders located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Shaders\ and even Prepar3d.cfg to restore your shaders/settings to default and see if you still get those stutters.
