Likely the Windows Apps listing is failing to work properly due to the P3D installer (the msi installer files) not setting an "InstallLocation" registry key, thus the Apps filter option won't correctly filter.

If you right click on your desktop P3D icon and select "Open File Location", you should find the explorer window opens at the actual path where P3D has been installed, and as long as that's Ok all is fine.

The 35 GB on C drive will relate to the installer packages as Windows keeps a copy if the msi installer files on C for things like repairs and uninstalls.

If you were to manually set each of the P3D "InstallLocation" registry keys to the path where P3D is actually installed you'll find the Apps filter by drive function will then work as you'd expect.

For reference the root registry key is,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Where the actual registry keys are recorded under a GUID number value, try searching the root key for Prepar3D v5 to find the packages.

Hi all,

I have returned to flight sim after about 1.5 years. I have reinstalled my P3D, but the problem is that it always installs on my C drive, altough I specificly select a folder on my much larger E drive. I know it needs a  minimum of 35 GB on the C drive, but in my PC settings, under the apps section I see that all of the four components are installed on the C drive, wich is substantially more, than 35 GB.

If you know a soloution, I am glad to hear it!

Dear Simmers, Vatsim pilots!

I am looking for a new headset for my Vatsim flights. I accept every reccomendation in 60-70 USD bugdet. My only request is, that the headset should have a popfilter (the black fury thing in front of your mouth, on the mic), and I do not want to buy a giant, flashing gaming headset. Dear People!

i reegistered to Alpha testing back in june, since that I did not got any emails regarding news for insiders and oher stuff! (I'm not  complaining about that I am not being chosen, it is just wierd for me that I did not get any emails. I assume I messed something up at registration) Or if this is normal please let me know, because I think everyojne hwo signed up properly, got some news emals from the MSFS team.

I only got an email about the first alpha round start and since then my letterbox is empty. is this normal, or is there a problem?

Dear Everyone!

This is my firsrt post here, so very sorry if I this is the wrong place to discuss this.

In the first place I'm asking if anyone has a used Saitek yoke (I don't need the throttle) because the original price is unaffordable for me. So if anyone wants to get rid of his saitek yoke please notify me. The same goes for the (saitek) rudder.

The other thing is that my current Thrustmaster T flight hotas X is not working properly, because it was slammed to the ground and as a result all planes in P3dV4 and XP11 are ruddering themselves to and fro in the air and on the ground, does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
