Probably been mentioned in the 34 pages but I noticed when my AGL dropped the TLOD & OLOD remained at their highest values I set them 😐 seemingly it's not working correctly as shouldn't they drop back down when the AGL goes below the values set? edit: the TLOD & OLOD at 177 AGL should be 75 each but they're not, this is after climbing to 1500+ AGL

Frame generation for all RTX cards
MarcG replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It's Nvidia that will do something about it more than likely in a future driver update, they can't be happy with this. -
Frame generation for all RTX cards
MarcG replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I don't post over there but I have noticed an increase in thread deletion, post removing, locking off threads for no or poor reasons and general censorship in recent months. The flagging system is pathetic as well, but anyway not for this thread sorry carry on! -

I rarely fly higher than 10,000ft and usually only out of tiny/medium sized airports, so I've set up my LODs as follows; <add key="tlodPairs1" value="0:50|500:75|2000:100|5000:125|7500:150|10000:175" /> <add key="olodPairs1" value="0:50|500:75|2500:100|5000:150|10000:175" /> Using VR it's imperative I maintain a decent FPS at all times and that it cannot dip below 35 where I start to notice stutters & issues, I've not actually flown with the above yet (and only briefly tested this mod in the past), as I had default in game values set to 125 for both TLOD & OLOD originally I should notice a difference. I'll report back later.

January 11, 2024 MSFS Development Update
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
As feared by a few there may well be bugs fixed for the next sim so they'll be "paying for a bug patch", personally I don't go with that thinking at all. But to have DX12 in beta for sooooo long and still not get to grips with this issue in the current Sim isn't a good look, of course if they actually communicated about particular issues instead of these one liners in the Roadmaps which leaves us all guessing then we'd all know what's going on...! -
How have I not heard of these guys? WinWing
MarcG replied to eslader's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Original poster doesn't trust online reviews so asks for online reviews and people can't trust the manufacturer based on the very first 1 online review 😄couldn't make it up! -
January 11, 2024 MSFS Development Update
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
So they've given up fixing the DX12 Beta texture issues at airports with this Sim and moved onto MSFS2024 instead saying it's "improved", hmmm 🤔 -
January 11, 2024 MSFS Development Update

I see they've stuck to cherry picking questions instead picking those with the most votes, be interesting to see if they pick up on the SU14 performance regression..... -

Toussus-le-Noble (LFPN) freeware

Mod conflict perhaps? Try loading the airport on its own if the above doesn't work. -
World Hub: Closed Alpha Sign-Up Now Open
MarcG replied to Krakin's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Dunno if it's possible with this hub, but a way to start Cold & Dark on small airports with no parking would be great, or simply all those airports without parking to get parking spots! -
Fstl traffic injector updated to 1.6.4
MarcG replied to grandfred29's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Nope that's an Opt-In branch that doesn't require two installs IIRC. -
Fstl traffic injector updated to 1.6.4
MarcG replied to grandfred29's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
- At injector startup, if the injector finds multiple versions of the sim installed (or partially installed)... I'm struggling to understand why someone would have two versions installed in the first place, anyone care to explain? I can't think of one reason! -
Happens to me randomly in VR as well, I have a button bind to show/hide the toolbar and every now and then it doesn't want to show up. I have to repeatedly press the button and eventually it jumps into life.

New Installation Tool (Simstaller)
MarcG replied to Tuskin38's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It's the world we live in, next time you get in your car tell me if you turn the headlights & windscreen wipers on manually 😄 This is a cool tool for those that will forever need help with PC usage, we're not all experts 😉 -
Frame generation for all RTX cards
MarcG replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Because they won't sell any new units, they want these features in latest cards only to cause hype and purchases from consumers. So from a Business side it makes perfect sense, they're probably fuming (hun) that this was made possible by a modder and they're no doubt looking at ways to break it in a future driver update. I'd be amazed if they released an official patch personally. -
Frame generation for all RTX cards
MarcG replied to MrFuzzy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Today I mentioned to a mate that I'll never quit VR until my eyes can't take it any more, as I've always vowed since 2016 that VR is the only way to Fly or Drive in Simulators. But, there's always a but, the room my PC/VR rig is in gets baking hot in the summer months, the VR barely gets touched, so with that in mind and an ever curios benchmarking mind I just had to take a look at this mod. I did my usual Benchmark flight, 2mins long with standard Sim AI Pilot, ULTRA settings as default; Twice the performance 😮😮😮 I think it's safe to say, when it's too hot for VR (which will always be King for Sims), then I may just fly in Pancake mode, nice! -
MSFS tops Navigraph 2023 survey results

It's a shame that grown adults in this thread are incapable of doing just that, amazed this thread wasn't locked after 5 pages let alone 33. -

December 14, 2023 MSFS Development Update
MarcG replied to David Mills's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
The thing is why should he have to alter settings because of regressions to performance from the developer? That's ok to do in the short term but; It's on the developer to A) Better test betas before public release and listen to the testers when they tell them there's a discrepancy, B) Provide better optimisation standards when performance drops significantly enough (as has been shown with SU14) and C) and the main one, fix what they broke with regards to performance regressions in the first place. If every update gradually lowered performance we'd all be running on Low settings by the time they've fully moved onto MSFS 2024, it's on the developers shoulders to do better. -
New Installation Tool (Simstaller)
MarcG replied to Tuskin38's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
One thing I've come to realise since becoming addicted to fight Sims in recent years, is how there's a section of enthusiasts who can fly complex aircraft blind, but they cannot do the fundamental basics of PC usage. They struggle with windows explorer, they can't use discord, they've never gone into windows settings etc etc. I see this tool as something perfect for them, they don't need to worry about managing zip files, extracting, copying and pasting etc, it's all done for them nice and easily. So this tool is catered to some but certainly not all. -
What was the best / worst of MSFS in 2023
MarcG replied to scotchegg's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
The best of 2023: Comanche A2A is awesome Vulcan from Just Flight is awesome Continued free updates including World Updates are always welcome Support from community modders creating fantastic content (free & paid) carries on and has gone up a few levels - Thank You The worst of 2023: Lead Devs who continue to ignore blatant VR issues and lack of expanding the features Extremely bad Quality Control for updates & past issues/bugs continues on for another year Beta Periods being practically pointless as seen with SU14 I haven't bought the F-14 yet...
