  1. Did he specifically say "promise" though? I don't recall he did, that words carries very strong in the English language.
  2. That's where I'm a bit concerned, the product I bought in 2020 has of course evolved in many ways of which I am eternally thankful. But there has been regressions in both bugs and features, will those get "fixed" for this Sim? Or will they only be sorted in the new Sim? If the latter, is it ok to spend more money to purchase a new title whereby the older title should've got those fixes in the first place? (No I'm not gonna list them, the bug reports are there for all to see on the official forum!) That's where the lack of communication regarding exactly what "support" MSFS2020 gets in the future is troubling, fine it's ok to continually wait for information but until then the lack of communication just leads to constant guesswork and further questions & very valid concerns. For the record I will be buying the new sim, but I'd still like to see the current Sim have those regressions fixed before they call time on it....whenever that may be.
  3. Or maybe they were keeping up this image knowing full well (what we didn't) that a new game was coming, so that all might change now, none of us can say for sure either way.
  4. They've been advertising that role for ages and yes I do know how hard they could be to code, but it's not impossible and both have been very slow progress.
  5. Reminds me, Jorg did say they were talking to Nvidia ages ago about a "mask" or something over the Garmin screens so that they're not so blurred, wonder if that is now pushed back for MSFS2024...
  6. Jorg also said in early 2022 that he'd talk more about VR "next time" and that there was something happening for VR (big thing or a feature, I forget) that he was excited about.....also never happened. Hence I take everything he says with a very large pinch of salt, he may mean well but he's clearly playing the marketing game in those Q&As, smiling pretty and saying what people like to hear not want to hear.
  7. @MattNischan, Great post Matt and I've never said they don't do anything, but ATC, & AI are glacial, the severe lack of interest in improving VR (and fixing bugs they introduced) is another prime example. Sure they have done a lot and I applaud them for that, but there's a lot they haven't done in equally the same time that arguably needs attention (I disagree with the METAR weather, for me it's not as good as pre-SU7 with huge issues (bubbles) still present not to mention a severe lack of cloud variation 1.5 years on).
  8. One thing that constantly strikes me is the lack of bringing other teams in, like Working Title, to help Asobo with this mammoth project. It's been quite clear from the very beginning that they've struggled in many areas, yet WT are the only ones to be given a specific area to focus and improve. Perhaps of course there are no suitable other teams, personnel available to work as WT do alongside Asobo, either that or they're simply not actively looking for help and want to do everything else by themselves at a glacial pace🤷‍♂️
  9. Yeah attention spans have gone out the window the past 15 years, everyone wants everything yesterday and they're looking for the next thing when it's released! I'm sure we'll get more, as I said this is but one video, no one can base the entire Sim off that one video (some are trying!) and yeah let's hope future ones delve more into specific areas for those of us with attention spans longer than 20 seconds.
  10. I don't think any marketing video is gonna show 2 minutes of "look at these bugs we fixed!", they're there to show pretty things that the masses may be interested in and we've only seen *ONE* video. No doubt we'll get more, perhaps ones focused on individual areas and what not in the future. I see lots of panic over nothing but assumptions, of course the severe lack of communication from MS is to blame for that so it'll be interesting to see what information comes out in the following weeks....which by then the fire of assumptions will be in full on rage mode.
  11. As it stands we should brace ourselves for whatever monetary system MS desires for the new title, so those hating subs might wanna prepare yourselves 😉 personally I don't think it will happen, game pass is there anyway so I think we'll get the same/similar options as the current Sim. Again personally and as said elsewhere I have no issue with a subscription, I've played years of iRacing and MMORPGS the past couple of decades so it's water off a ducks back for me. Whatever system they choose, I'll be jumping onboard.
  12. I can see the Q&A now; "what tornadoes in clear skies bug?" 😄
  13. Dont see why, if you don't want to read it don't open it, plenty of folk still chatting away so all good in my book. What I'd like to see more is Jorg actually say something, about time he opened up and told us what's what
  14. Oh I'm well aware of how they do things, I had some hope they'd learn after the distaster of the VR communication before SU2 and subsequent other failures but no...! Times like this I think it needs the actual developers (Asobo) to communicate not the uniformed marketing department, but unfortunately they don't.
  15. I've no problem with a sub model, I've played enough iRacing to get used to that and I played MMORPGs for many years that required a monthly sub. Sure it feels more like you're "renting" the product rather than fully owning it, but as long as I'm playing then I'm fine with it.
  16. I guess people read things differently, the only real regativity that I've seen is about the incredibly poor communication at the time the video was released - which IMO is negativity that is perfectly justified. That lack of communication started a wildfire and resulted in people not understanding fully what this new sim is, they've read false info and so that's a small bit of negativity as their minds are warped from the actual truth - of which we still know very very little due to the aforementioned lack of communication! Overall though I've seen very positive views towards what MSFS2024 could become, but of course there's lots of apprehension regarding how it will play out, again perfectly acceptable because we know practically nothing at this moment in time.
  17. It's not a new engine though, you seem to be basing your texture theory on absolutely nothing.
  18. Betrayal is a great song by Strung Out, MSFS2024 however is not betrayal in any way shape or form....clickbait yootoob nonsense.
