  1. Who cares about MSFS 2020 ATC when you can have live ATC on VATSIM. https://www.vatsim.net/news/big-day-vatsim
  2. I had trackir5 for fsx for a bit before moving on to a full cockpit build..before moving on to VR. However, I didn't want to miss out on all the fun waiting for September or whenever msfs is releasing the VR version. So, I dug my trackir 5 out of storage. Anyway I got it working and tried a couple flights. Well, it is now back in storage because it turns out that msfs2020 or any kind of flying is no longer fun without VR. If you haven't experienced VR flying then you won't understand this...if you have then I know you have a smile on your face in anticipation of the VR release. 🙂
  3. If trackir blows you away I can't imagine what VR will do for you.
  4. They can just truncate quote to 3 lines when quoted. You should not be able to edit someone quote.
  5. Look above...I can type in your quote box. That should not be possible. I have started a topic
  6. IFR = instrument flight rules. Meaning you are flying by instruments...meaning you should be able to locate and land at an airport without assistance from ATC (or GPS).
  7. I agree from my limited ATC experience so far. I guess they will vector you in based on the wind so you might have to switch approach plates on the fly...which is annoying.
  8. No. I don't use ATC in IFR...I navigate from VOR to VOR and finally to the ILS runway. IFR to me means departing from one airport and landing in another airport in possibly zero visibility without any GPS or assistance from ATC
  9. You must need a better PC or something because I have had no issues at all. MSFS2020 has raised the bar to new heights and I can't wait for the VR version. I uninstalled DCS and currently fly aerofly FS2 VR. I never had Xplane but aerofly fs2 VR is amazing with orbx scenery packs. Check out Innsbruck. Have you not tried aerofly fs2 with orbx scenery? We are already there. The G2 and MSFS in VR will be a new era in simulation.
  10. Here's what you do. 1. Closedown MSFS 2020. 2. Go to Amazon and order a G2 Reverb. 3. Enjoy the sunshine because once the VR version is released you won't be going outside much anymore. 😎
  11. I never use ATC for my IFR flights...purely VOR to VOR to ILS. It would be cool if ATC could follow along though but I don't want them messing me up 🙂 As far as testing IFR I just completed one of my favorite IFR flights from fsx in msfs2020 no problems.
  12. Ya I thought that too when I was hearing about VR because I had physical knobs. I also flew almost entirely IFR and didn't think I could in VR. Fast forward to now and I do all my flying virtual...and almost all IFR... however I do enjoy VFR much more. I have been where you are...you twist your HDG knob and the plane turns. It's cool...feels real. But then you sit there...glance at your chart...have 12 minutes to kill according to the DME. You run upstairs to grab some snacks...or head to the other desktop to check emails etc. Trust me...in VR the action of twisting knobs or pulling levers is visceral enough...it has a haptic-like ticking sound that is quite satisfying. I don't even care for getting haptic feedback back honestly...that's how little I miss actually touching the knobs. I would much rather have hand tracking. I still fly with my physical yoke, throttle quadrant and rudder pedals, and have a rocker chair so I feel the bumps on the landing. 🙂
