Latin VFR: Global Vehicle Traffic
Espana Pete replied to HiFlyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Are there many more tow trucks to enable those with faulty steering / those relying on Sat Navs and doing three point turns in inappropriate places / those driving on the wrong side of the motorway / those crashing into solid objects, each other, to take them away to insurer approved crash repair centres? -
It don't get no better than this
Espana Pete replied to AOB's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
It sounded like "Flatten Me" or something else beginning with an F which I cannot quite work out. -
REVIEW: iniScene Heathrow
Espana Pete replied to FilbertFlies's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I believe I am right in saying that the wonderful freeware Gatwick airport has different versions available so that those who are not lucky enough to have fairly high spec PC's can choose to install a lower spec version which gives them better FPS. Perhaps @iniBuilds and those who have been suggesting that a better version would cripple their PC could bear this in mind and perhaps consider offering two versions for sale in the future? -
What a pleasant surprise in FBW's A32NX

I doubt if I am the only person willing to pay good money to turn that option off if it ever materialised 🙂 -
REVIEW: iniScene Heathrow
Espana Pete replied to FilbertFlies's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I was really looking forward to the UKs premier airport coming to MSFS as currently I over use the excellent freeware Gatwick & Stansted airports when landing in the South of the UK. I would have been quite happy to pay circa £20 including VAT for a product in line with Gatwicks quality but what I have seen of the video has left me somewhat underwhelmed. I am not bothered about the interiors of an airport of this size but my overall impression is that it looks so grey and washed out. Now I have not visited Heathrow for donkeys years so this might be what the buildings look like in real life which cannot be blamed on the SW developers but the architects. One of the charming aspects of flying into the UK in real life is the green grass, especially as I now live in Spain, but even this looks washed out in the video. The tarmac roads seem to have been constructed by somebody who offered to do the job with some tarmac left over from another job nudge nudge, on the cheap and I had to stop watching the video about two thirds of the way through as it was depressing me. I truly hope that after an injection of cash from initial buyers, the developers continue to enhance this product but at the moment it is definitely not one I can feel justified to spend my kids inheritance on. -
Next step up from CJ4?
Espana Pete replied to Espana Pete's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I will take another look at the FBW A320. I just tried the stock Longitude and it felt a bit mickey mouse to me, not that I pretend to be an expert by a long shot. I do not really understand why there is such a shortage of business jets, I know the Honda is/might be on its way but there are plenty more I would have thought worth developing? -
Next step up from CJ4?
Espana Pete replied to Espana Pete's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I have never touched the stock version, always WT from the start. I bought the Aerosoft 550/700 and played around with it but was hoping to master a plane in between first. -
Next step up from CJ4?
Espana Pete replied to Espana Pete's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
The only assistance cheats I use are unlimited fuel and assisted ATC :-) will take a look at the Longitude shortly. -
At my age I am not a very fast learner and have taken a year to get from complete novice to being able to get the CJ4 from Heathrow to New York reasonably easily, so I am looking for advice on the next step up from the CJ4 into a larger aircraft. I have "played around" with a few of the larger beasts and there seems to me to be quite a jump up in the learning curve now when I would prefer to take it in simple steps up. Can those with more knowledge than I suggest the easiest challenge up from a CJ4 please?

The only drawer back is that he has always stated " Expected Completion date 2030" now he is back in his real time work post covid. Now I have no idea if he really believes this or is simply offering himself the luxury of a giant dollop of wiggle room. I still find it hard to understand how he managed to produce Gatwick on his own whilst teaching himself how to use CAD (or whatever is used to produce these add ons) in such a short space of time, the thought of taking on Heathrow with its complexities just blows my tiny mind.

It might help if you quantify how long is "a long time"? Is your opening screen (while the sim is loading) a picture of Sydney harbour? Have you made sure that your Windows installation is 100% up to date? Have you pressed the Get Updates button (top right) in Microsoft Store and does it work for other apps you have downloaded from there?

Sorry to throw the cat amongst the pigeons but I am on Win 11, used Edge and have Bitdefender installed and downloaded it all easily too. Perhaps there is another common denominator for those having problems?
-
After going through the video for the fourth time, I realised that I had an unzipped "BijanSeasonsV7.1" folder inside my "Bijan Season" folder which was causing the problem, all good now.

Hola David, Thanks for that. One last question you might be able to help with, if it is installed correctly, what should appear in MSFS community, I cannot see anything new?
-
Sorry to appear a bit dense, but a) how does one check if they have Java installed and b) following the link you supplied it mentions that "In Windows 10, the Edge browser does not support plug-ins and therefore will not run Java". c) the email update notification I got stated that "No Java required". All very confusing.

Iberian update coming to MSFS in March
Espana Pete replied to Espana Pete's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Certainly Spain & Portugal, I too am in the dark about about further updated coverage. -
Captain Sim has released one too. Problem is that the sleigh is based on the Asobo 747 cockpit and needs double the number of reindeer to pull the extra weight. Only £9,99 in the sale but they have promised lifetime updates.

New PC Build - Permanent CTDs with MSFS [SOLVED]
Espana Pete replied to Nemo's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
If you are on Win 11 you need System - Display - Graphics - Default settings and it is in there.
