Visual reference points? Msfs uses satellite imagery so plenty of those around on the 2d view as regards 3d buildings someone better qualified than me will have to help. I had ALL the orbx scenery for fsx so was tragic leaving investment of thousands behind but for the most part the move has been absolutely not regretted.

It's going to be painful, but I'm not buying anything else for FSX

  2. It's apparent that 'quite a few' VRP assets are missing from FSX (not withstanding my Europe Base ORBX).

To upgrade to the highest level ORBX of the UK would set me back 30 quid a pop so I'd be looking at about a ton.  And there's no guarantee all the VRP's I'm likely to need would be included.

So, as 2020 is currently at 60 quid should I move over?  I'd be pretty word not allowed if I found some VRP assets were still missing, though.  Exclude any discussion about the financial investment I currently have in FSX or the hardware required to propel msfs.

    What did you guys do?

  3. Ive installed Spad to get my saitek FIP and AP/multipanel working as the logi drivers were doing my head in.

While it is a relief to get them working in not much time at all, 24 euros is a little expensive for what should have been a pretty simple task for logitech.

I'm a lazy weekend flier and use the OBS exclusively on the FIP and have no need to reassign any commands on the MP.

Can anyone give me a good reason to buy or not to buy Spad?

    Cheers.

Edit, I fly VOR using ILS approaches so it's that gauge with the course/heading, nav flag and glide slope ind, etc.  It's a standard issue saitek gauge.  A word not allowed one at that.

The Cessna 404 Titan was a twin piston with a very long range, about 2000 statute miles when packed with fuel, but it did not have radial or V-engines.

For a twin radial, yes, the Lockheed Ventura did have long legs.  With ferry tanks, it could fly up to a quoted 2600 sm.

The Douglas A-26 Invader could make 3000 sm with ferry tanks.

Hmm.  Not used a Titan.  Will give one a try.  Thanks 🙂

  5. Calling vets who could throw a few suggestions into the hat.

Free or payware, what ships have the longest range?  Civvies at the front of the queue.

radials or inline.  I'm visualising DC3's or maybe Ventura variants only because they're the ones I have already.  I vaguely remember the DG dh98 has some legs as well.

    Any ideas??

PS this should be a FSXSE forum???
