in the image notice how the united in the top left shows registration ground speed and altitude. and the all the other planes show no info. i know nav map is grabbing the info because clicking on them brings it up in the side window.
i have always had the feature work with default settings in the past. now it seems it only works sporadically with one or two aircraft at a time and no amount of adjusting map labels. reinstalling. setting default settings, can fix it. also seems i needed to turn the "details map labels" to highest in order to get it to show just that one plane that it grabs in the way I'm describing which also makes the airports themselves have huge labels. and like i said ive always had this feature work fine previously without this issue.
windows 11 msfs 2020 and only notable add on that ive changed is beyondatc's new traffic injector needed fsltl installed for models.
