Saw this and it caught me by surprise. I was told directly by the lead developer of BATC (and yes, this is a word for word quote), "We make most of our money on the voices". This was in direct response to a question I asked about why their product is only $30. I remember it well because the comment took me off guard, because that's not what he's stated elsewhere. I asked again. He again confirmed. This was at their booth, at FSEXpo in June, in a conversation with the owner of BATC. So either he's lying to his customers, or he lied to me. This explains why they've been so adamant about getting traffic out the door, when their product has thousands of pretty nasty bugs.... traffic = more voices = more money. Obviously, there's no problem if they want to make money on the voices. That's a business decision. But LYING about it is next-level scummy. (No question they're getting bulk pricing from EL and just pocketing the difference -- which is why they won't let customers bring their own EL keys).
