Hi, I'm having serious issues with the toe brakes on my saitek pro flight pedals. There's a real nasty and sharp deadzone kind of thing at the lower end of their range of movement. What i mean is that before i push the brakes over something like 20% of their range of movement (where 0% means that the brakes are off and 100% that they're on), absolutely nothing happens. Then, when i press them beyond the 20% point, they suddenly snap into action (As you can imagine, this is not good). Between 20% and 100% they are smooth as silk, no sudden spikes or anything. I've even tried setting the pedals up with FSUIPC, still no luck. Is this caused by bad calibration or are my pedals broken? Cheers KorRacer

I need help deciding which joystick to get.My options are the Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y. 5 and the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.1) Will either of these sticks be able to last a year without losing calibration? Which one will last longer before losing calibration?2) Which of these have better controls? (not going left or right when the stick is centered, good precision etc.). I've heard that the Logitech turns the plane right when the stick is centered. Is this true? Does the Saitek have any such problems? If you can answer the above questions and recommend which one to get, that'll be great!

Hello, I have been using the saitek evo for years. And now I think it might be a good time to upgrade it as the PMDG NGX has came out and the saitek evo just doesn't conrol like a 737 or any Boeing...So, can anybody tell me anything about their Yoke, whether it's worth or not? Are they well made? Is it currently the best yoke?(I know there are more expensive one, but I can't afford them!) Cheers,Frank

I am making a renewed effort to use my Saitek throttles with the NGX and 777X. My specific question is for those that use Saitek throttles with PMDG what "Delta" do you use in the 'Axis Assignments' page in FSUIPC? The default is 256. Both my throttle axis are setup as follows: Reverse: -16193 < 0 Idle: 0=< 2476 Max: 16192 I am going for smoothness (and without using 'sync pos' as much as possible) and I feel that 256, which equates to roughly 53 throttle detents, is a bit small. Thanks! I DO NOT want this turning into a debate or complaint thread. I am seeking advice.

Hi All, I am a longtime forum-lurker, newbie member and first-time poster! I have already built a fully-loaded custom made aluminium Main Instrumet Panel (MIP) targetting GA (single, twin etc.) comprising the following Saitek modules: - Cessna Yoke, Rudder pedals and Trim Wheel - 2x Radio Panels - 2x Backlit Information Panels (BIP's) - 2x Throttle quadrants - 1x Throttle, Prop, Mixture panel (TPM with switches) - 11x Flight Intrument Panels (LCD FIP's) - 1x Switch Panel - 1x Multi-Panel - 1x iPad on flexi-mount My plan was always to focus on GA / low and slow (I hope to start on my PPL/CPL soon), hence this 'equipment' - with an occasional 'play' at the heavy jets. Maybe with a side joystick. Having relocated to Australia and spent the last year on a road-trip (immediately following completion of the MIP - which I have never used!), my MIP has been (and remains) in storage for the foreseeable future. So I got to thinking.... What if I were to extend what I already have to provide better support for jets? After lot's of research, I am now fired up to do this! My plan was to enclose the MIP in one of Sim Samurai's enclosures (the CS-1 Stallion, for which I already bought the blueprint). I reckon I could squeeze some jet bits in, so am looking for some guidance before committing $$$ to my purchases. On the Boeing vs Airbus debate: I will probably go Boeing primarily (though maybe with room for a PIC joystick for Airbus - just in case!). I like GoFlight stuff but am swinging towards VRInsight for their: CDU III panel (CDU II + LCD), 737 Overhead panel - and, if I need it, MCP Combo II (EFIS/MCP/COM). Oh and their GPS 5 panel, 'cos I can. Which leads to the million $$$ question: if I sacrifice the "realism/immersion", how much of the jet workload can be mapped to the GA-biased MIP? Obviously, early 737's would map better, with more 'steam' guages, though 11x Saitek FIP's should help either way? For me, getting the CDU III is a no brainer, especially with it's LCD. I 'think' the GPS 5 would also be useful - even if only to extend the GA capability. And I guess, the overhead panel could also be a no-brainer (I know it tends to only get used at the beginning/end of a flight, but it is an 'easy' add-on, just stick it above my head!). More matched to iFly than PMDG I understand (in terms of functionality that will work) - shame! Where I 'do not get it' yet, is how much practical overlap I have with existing instruments and the MCP combo? I see some COM and autopilot potential overlap, but lack the experience with both GA and commercial to make a sensible decision on whether I can get away without the MCP Combo - or whether this will prevent a sensible, more realistic workload. Any thoughts from others who fly both types please? Thanks!

I'm tired of flying the PMDG 737 with only a joystick, so I've decided to splurge and build a whole cockpit. My budget isn't bad, but it isn't great either (let's say maybe... a few thousand dollars over the course of one year). Anyways, I want to begin my project by making the throttle quadrant first. There are two ways I can go about this (that I know of): Buy two saitek throttle quadrants and merge them together, which would give me six slots - 2 Throttle, 2 Reversers, 1 Spoiler and 1 Flap, plus six switches that I have yet to decide a purpose for < OR > Buy an Arduino chipset and Make my own throttle box, which might give me more room to customize, but I need to know: can Arduino chipsets support incremental controls like throttles, or do they only support simple on/off states?Do fellow simmers here have a preference over these two options for custom cockpits? Are there any other recommendations? Thanks, Leif

Hello. I just received the Saitek radio panel and in my hurry to see if it worked I forgot all about SPAD. I had read that some people just plugged it in and it worked without using the disk or any other drivers other than what might have install when plugging in the USB. I tried this and it didn't work so I used the provided disk. The radio worked great with all of my planes except the Flight1 King Air and the Majestic Dash 8. This makes sense considering that the other planes radios/gps run off of the FSX ones. And if I remember correctly it wouldn't tune the A2A ADF, but worked fine for everything else. I realize that I may not be able to use it with the Majestic because quite honestly I'm not even sure exactly how the communication/navigation work with such an advanced, complex aircraft. I did notice a com 1 little window in the center console and I did find a screen further back on the center console that looked like it was where you would set frequencies, but that type of aircraft is out of my league considering my current aviation knowledge. Will it just simply not work with this aircraft? The King Air is a little different. For about every 15 "clicks" of the knob the frequency might change once. And I know it won't swap frequencies at all. With this planes G1000 it should be able to do this in my mind. Is there any chance that if I delete the Saitek drivers and use SPAD drivers that these issues would clear up? Thank you for any help.

Hello all. I have been eyeing the Saitek Multi Panel recently to help finish up my sim pit. I have advanced aircraft such as A2A 172, Aerosoft Twin Otter, Flight1 King Air, RealAir Duke V2, Majestic Dash 8 and will get some PMDG products in the future. My question is, how well does the autopilot features of this panel work with these type of aircraft? I realize PMDG and other larger aircraft will have differences seeing as how the panel autopilot is designed around a very simple general aviation aircraft. If I were to be flying the King Air or Dash could I set an altitude, vertical speed and heading and it would all work correctly? Is this just a waste of money if flying these type of aircraft? I feel that it would work just fine with the A2A 172, but I'm not positive. I read somewhere that someone had to use LINDA to get it to work with more complex aircraft and I think that is beyond my comfort zone with FSX. Any help or hearing of any experiences would be a huge help. Thank you.

I have only found Linda in the last few days and have a small query which I think is an easy answer but for the life of me I cannot figure out. I have the Saitek Yoke (and Throttle), Rudder, Multi Panel and Switch Panel and I'm using FSX Acceleration, FSUIPC 4.937 and SPAD 0.5.0. I have the PMDG 747 so thought I would simply have to download the module developed by Pero and voila! I would be able to assign actions to buttons to my hearts content. Unfortunately, whilst the PMDG 747 is listed there are no options to choose from. I get the choice of Edit Modules and System Functions but under System Functions only "InitVars" is displayed where I was expecting to see a whole list of Functions. None of the documentation I have read seems to say that I needed to do anything else to get this to work (or maybe I am doing a "man read" much like my partner accuses me of doing "man looks" when trying to find something) Can someone please tell me what I have done wrong? PS. I installed Linda (2.5.5) to the root of the FSX Modules folder i.e. the path to Linda is C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Modules\Linda.exe Cheers Harry

Good day , A few days ago I downloaded and installed Prepar3D v2.5 and Addons However P3D dont recognizes Movements of the Saitek Yoke, but the buttons as also the Throttle Quadrant work .. Its the same with every plane. The latest Saitek drivers are installed. Does anyone else know a reason? cheers Chris

Hello all. I just finished my sim pit and am working now at setting it up and fixing all the small issues, but one has me puzzled. I have a Saitek multi panel with the flap switch connected to a powered usb hub and am setting up the A2A 172. Just using SPAD and not FSUIPC, which I do have the registered version, it worked the first time I tried, but would only go from 10-20 degrees, and once in maybe 10-15 tries to 30, but never to zero. I saw that FSUIPC seemed to have a way to set up flaps under Joystick Controls, but it seemed confusing so I avoided it. I tried to set up through FSUIPC Axis and Keystrokes, but it wouldn't recognize the flap switch. I got into SPAD and set the switch to keypress mode, or whatever, and assigned the standard F6 and F7 keys. I also went into FSX and deleted any other buttons that were set to these keys. It worked perfectly! 0-30 degrees any time I wanted. I reloaded the aircraft so I could show my father that it was working. I went to use flaps and nothing happened at all. I went back through, checked my settings, reset my settings and fiddled a ton. I cannot for the life of me get it to respond. Anyone know what the heck could be going on? I will keep fiddling for now. One more thing. I have the Saitek radio, multi panel and switch panel all on a powered usb hub. SPAD recognizes the radio and multi panel every time and allows me to make my adjustments, while SPAD doesn't say anything about a switch panel being connected in the upper left corner. Should it be showing up? Shouldn't it show up so I can make adjustment through SPAD. When I got it a few weeks ago I tested it to make sure it wasn't damaged and the starter knob and more than half the switches worked without changing or setting up anything. Should I try a different usb port? I have no Saitek drivers and I jiggled and unplugged and replugged usb's but it didn't do anything. Any help is great. Thank you.

After 8 weeks of development, trial and error and false starts, I am pleased to offer the next version of LINDA 2.6.0 as a Beta release. This version introduces dynamic connection and disconnection of Joysticks/Devices (switchable) and the ability to connect directly to Saitek Multi and Radio Panels. I am indebted to user Cooly for his excellent work on the Saitek panels. Before installing please READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR MODULES FOLDER. Please report any observations and issues on this thread. All comments are welcome especially from users with Saitek Multi and Radio panels. The beta 11 can be downloaded from here. New Features/Fixed issues: Re-introduced HotKeys for saving 2D panel positions and removing windows titles (FSX and P3D). Added ATC library for using FSX ATC functions. Fixed issue where HID device names were not permanent. Fixed scroll bar on News panel. Removed old style CH Pedals from devices. Added ability to generate list of MCP and HID assignments to text files. IMPORTANT - due to an error in the previous beta versions it is possible that the system hid configuration file has become corrupted. If you get an Access Violation error with opening the Joystick page, delete the following file: \linda-cfg\system\config-hid.lua. It will be automatically created correctly the next time you start LINDA. Known Issues: The footer HID icons may initially mismatch the selected type. A short video on the installation and setup LINDA is here.

Hello all. Finished my sim pit, but having a funny problem. Not setting up SPAD at all the flaps switch would move flaps on A2A 172 between 10 and 20 degrees only, not 0 or 30. When setting it for key presses it works perfectly, but only for one flight. Any reset or change or turning off computer or changing weather or anything and it doesn't not work. I have "unset" other things that could effect it, like multiple buttons controlling the same action and have tried to make sure FSUIPC and FSX were not clashing. Also checked to make sure I was on the right SPAD profile and that it was still set up the same. What is going on? Do I need to uninstall and then reinstall something? I updated A2A 172.

Hi, my name is Paul and I just introduced myself in the newbies forum. I own FSX Gold and and FS Ultimate Americas. I decided to start with a relatively modest t16000m and I own a Corsair K65 RGB which is excellent for assigning different colours to different types of controls on a key-by-key basis. However already I am starting to crave more!!! While there is no way that I could afford anything from GoFlight, I was looking at a few lower end panels from Saitek on Amazon which are affordable to me at the moment. My dilemma is do I just buy the Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel or should I add the Saitek Pro Flight TPM Panel as well. Realistically at the moment my budget is about €200 so that would have to be it. Ideally I'd like to hear that the Pro Flight Switch would be sufficient and work my way up from there. I would also like to hear peoples opinions on pedals, and yokes and how much they add to the immersion? I know that's a lot of questions but if anyone could address even a couple it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance (He said optimistically!) Paul Ps. Please let me know if the use of brand names is allowed in here. Thanks.

This is not a full fledged how-to, but I did want to relay my success with this mod to my Saitek Pro Yoke. Basically, I mounted the yoke into a cabinet on a platform running on ball-bearing drawer rails. I imagine this has already been done, but I haven't seen it. It has been a great upgrade to get smooth elevator action with no sticky points and no detents in the elevator. The idea here is to have the whole base move rather than the yoke rod, and fix a connection from the elevator pot to the cabinet. This makes the elevator control run on ball bearings of the drawer glides. I removed the elevator springs from the original yoke and pulled the yoke all the way back. To make it "fixed" in this position, I blocked it off with a piece of scrap wood attached to the plastic housing with screws. I put some packing tape on the front to keep it slippery against the plastic end cap of the yoke rod. I also have some blue tape there to give the wires a bit of abrasion resistance but it's a temporary solution. I made a base from 1/4" plywood, added 1x2 rails, attached ball-bearing drawer slides, and built a small particle board cabinet to support it all. Make a template and drill holes out for the screws that hold the original Saitek housing together, then you can screw down one half of the housing to the base, and access the screws to close it back up. To control the elevator potentiometer, I drilled a small hole in the armature and fitted it with a piece of push-rod used for RC aircraft. A hole is then drilled out the back of the original Saitek housing and attach the other end using an L-bracket and a wingnut. You'll need to make sure you have physical stops to keep the base from moving back and forth beyond the control range, else you'll put stress on the push rod and probably break the armature connected to the potentiometer. The range of travel of the Saitek yoke is about 3.5". There is about 3/4 to 7/8 of an inch between the bottom of the platform and the bottom of the cabinet sides, so you can fit springs or a bungee there for centering. I did not yet make a front panel, so there is only a plywood strip acting as a stop from the front. I will cover the front with two strips of 1/4" plywood and drill a 2" hole for the yoke rod using a forstner bit. Add some rubber feet to the base, and you can use some of that kitchen drawer lining as bumper material to soften the contact with the range stops. Of course you'll probably sand, maybe router the edges and paint it too... The weight depends on what you build the cabinet with. 5/8" particle board is pretty heavy but I may end up securing it with a clamp or screws system. This also depends on how stiff the springs or bungee centering system you come up with. If you're interested in getting a ball-bearing smooth elevator control, you might give this a try. I used 14" drawer rails from the big orange home store. The tolerances are decent in that there is no up-down play so when you're turning the yoke, there is no discernible bumping, etc. The original Saitek design also has the flaw of binding when you both turning and pulling/pushing the yoke..the drawer rails have bearings top and bottom so when you're turning, you're still rolling smooth. If you give it a try, let me know - I'm sure there are improvements to be made. It has made a world of difference for me especially on climb out and landing. Clear skies, Robert KPDX

Hello! I need a controller for FSX and stuff to fly the things I always and usually only fly (Boeings and Cessnas)... Please tell me what I should get for the controller. As for addons, I already know I want --- FTX ORBX Global REX 4 texture Direct Active Sky Next Thats 179 dollars right there....If I get the X55 Hotas, I wont have a problem with getting that and those 3 addons, Or, I can get Saitek pro flight yoke + throttle (the one it comes with) Saitek Pro flight Rudder Pedals FTX REX 4 ASN That will cost around 450$ I have 290, But in like One month I will have ATLEAST 390...EITHER way I have to wait til the end of this month to get anything. So what makes more sense for me? A yoke or a joystick? is the saitek yoke nice, no lag, good quality, feel real? I can just get the Yoke, Rudder, EXTRA throttle to have two and a swtich panel but no addons so FSX wont look good....Should I just do that? So lets count that.... What should i get??? Thanks

After Froogle recently posted a video about 737 throttle levers for the Saitek throttle quadrants I became very interested. I found some very nice and real looking throttle levers on www.cockpitsimparts.co.uk My question is: Has anybody ever heard of Cockpit Sim Parts? Have you ordered from them? How was your experience with your purchase and products? I want to order the 737 throttle levers they make for the Saitek throttles but I don't want to get burned out of $160. After the recent events with a certain British scam artist that tried to infect our community I am bit cautious of making purchases from lesser known companies. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello, Is anyone using LINDA for the Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel with the A2A Cherokee? Everything on mine works great (using the downloaded configuration module - thank you!), except the battery switch. My Saitek switch has to be rocked from the off to the on position, and then back off before the switch on the aircraft panel toggles on. Then it's the same procedure to turn the panel switch off. (rock the Saitek switch to on and then off.) I initially thought it was something I did when attempting to set up LINDA. (First time user. ) But I replaced the config*.lua file with a fresh one, and it's still the same. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brett

Hello guys, I just got the Cessna Saitek pro flight yoke. The right handle of the yoke has two buttons top one is vertical and bottom one horizontal. I noticed that the vertical one is kinda loose and can turn left to become horizontal as well! Is this how it supposed to be or should I return/replace the yoke? Thanks for your input!!!

Hello to all! I've been piloting a while, and I have been very happy with the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, but it has seemed to have died on me, that the LCD will not light, nor will the computer recognize the USB device at all. When plugging in the device, the Power LED on the throttle part comes on VERY briefly, but very quickly extinguishes. The small LCD on the main yoke fails to show any signs of life. I have opened it up and tested that the USB cable leading into the yoke is still good, and a few other basic things, and all my tests check out. I'm not sure at all what is causing this. Does anyone know what I may need to do? I would be happy with a solution of a bit of soldering, I'd just not like to have to set aside the money for another yoke if possible. Thank you in advance for any answer. Computer Details: Desktop system, 6 Gigs ram, dual core CPU at 2.6GHz. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Microsoft Flight Simulator X. All other USB devices work fine, and the yoke system is not plugged into a hub or otherwise, but directly into the system. Again, any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
