So I flew in to Barcelona today from Nice CΓ΄te d'Azur. A short hop and a very pleasant one in the mighty 747-8i. Arriving at El Prat I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and the facilities. Perhaps chill out for a while before departing for your next destination, talk to some other travellers or pilots? No problem! π So why don't you hop into your favourite airliner and visit this iconic airport? If you do - you've guessed it - Latin VFR is ready for you! Hi everyone, I have both the 400 and the 8 versions of the 747 and on both I get this bug: when at cruise altitude, the trim remains "up" (as for example when I set it for takeoff) and in order to fly straight and level the autopilot has to push the yoke all the way down... Is it only on my computer!? I uninstalled and installed again the whole FSX 3 times since when I have the 747 and I've always had this issue... I have pictures about this but I'm new on this forum and I don't know how to post them (if i even can). Anyway, any ideas on this issue?

I have been trying to fly the 747 to FL350 or FL370 but it seems that it cannot achieve max thrust even with the thrust levers at 100% flaps 5 and decreasing during climb and it also gives me stall warning when climbing through 17000 to FL250 and still with max thrust levers, it seems that the engine configuration is incorrect, but I cannot find the problem, is it configure through the load manager or on the FMC? Can anyone help?

Preparing for another test flight from LGAV to WSSS I thought that you might wanted to see some of the new features included in the upcoming PDMG 747-8 expansion pack. As I also say in the video this is still under development so some features might change until the final release Enjoy π

As you can see in the pic (click link below), the FSX logo bleeds through the PMDG 747-8 EFB. I also have the bleed-through problem in the PMDG 777, but not in the NGX or any other aircraft. I uninstalled and reinstalled the 747-8 and it temporarily fixed the problem, but it returned. The EFB opened in a 2D window displays just fine.I've used Steve's DX10 Fixer to no avail. Interestingly this problem does not occur with DX9, but DX9 causes OOMs with this bird so I need to use DX10.Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any ideas? Greetings Fellow Pilots: For anyone who might be interested, I have recently started a video tutorial blog called Training Tips at subsonicflighttraining.com for the 747-400 and the 747-8 (when released). I have been using iFly 747-400, but will be switching to the PMDG version 2 because of its higher fidelity. Like flightdeck2sim.com on the 737, my intent is to use my almost 30 years on the 747-400 as a Captain Instructor Pilot, Check Airmen, and FAA Examiner to highlight some real world procedures and knowledge to assist the flight simmer in enhancing their ability to explore and most importantly have fun with a sophisticated software replication of the iconic whale or queen of the skies, if you prefer. Planned areas of coverage right now are jet basics, but will branch into procedures of normal, non-normals, and line flights. So I invite you to subscribe and your feedback is highly appreciated. Any areas you would like to see for future video blogs, please don't hesitate to give me your request. Personally, as I am entering the twilight of my career, I look forward to joining the VATSIM network and doing some virtual trips. Boy, if I was a young kid again and had all this available to me, I could have been so highly prepared and even more engaged than I was. All I ever had was a aviation pen radio with a headset and a small tuning knob and a little antenna to listen to ATC frequencies standing by an airport fence next to my bike. Now you do this with ease on your phone with an app. Amazing...

Hello, I was reading something about different airframes of the 747-8 having different MTOW's and a certain "Performance Improvement Package" that reduced the overall airplane weight by around 10,000 pounds, which allowed Boeing to also increase the range to about 8,200NM. I couldn't find any official boeing document other than the "Airplane Characteristics for airport planning" which did state 2 different MTOW's under the 747-8f: 442,253 Kg. (975,000 lbs.) and 447,696 Kg. (987,000 lbs.). I find this pretty interesting, given that the -8 wasn't sold as much and I wouldn't think Boeing would continue to do R&D to that point of increasing the range, reducing the weight of the aircraft and increasing MTOW. I also read that the last airframes that Boeing built (VP-BBY and VP-BBP) have an MTOW of about 472,000 Kg (1,041,000 lbs) or even more. If that is the case, what would be the actual weights and ranges of the 747-8 that you're developing? Would you take the variations into account in say the official liveries you provide us with? Or if not, would other repainters could be able to modify the performance of the plane based on the registration of the plane? I think it would be really cool to see it implemented as one of the wonderful 747-isms and quirks, however I do understand that getting the real numbers for each aircraft and maybe the sim limitations would make it hard. Nevertheless I cannot wait for you to release this amazing simulation of the newest queen, bringing us simmers as close as possible to the real thing. I guess everyone is too busy flying her to post some pics, LOL. Here are a few on my 1st flight, KSFO to KDFW. Checking her out just before departure (I added the Joe Sutter and 45 years logos...the Cargolux included in the package is a different reg). Getting ready for pushback.... In flight, on my way to Dallas. Reviewing the STAR on the FO's EFB (in night mode...I like the view better)...I'm doing the MDANO Transition.

Just leased a 747-8 for my AH2 fleet, so it has a temporary Atlantic Bridge livery at the moment whilst I fly it around a bit and check it out on various routes to see if it works for my airline in terms of suitability, if it does, it'll get a more permanent paint job:

New 737 NG's equipped with Split Scimitar Winglets, the first release in the 747 line with the -8/-8F and updates to all previous FSX models to make them compatible with P3D V2 during night. All available at the FSXAIBureau. P.S as far as I can tell at least two painter sites already have some paints done for the Scimitar models, flyingcarpet75.com and juergenbaumbusch.de Cheers.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but I found a link to this on Facebook. It seems that the pilots of the 748 got bored with flying in a circle, so they decided to do something different. Here it is on Flightaware: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE523/history/20110802/1330Z/KPAE/KPAE In case you don't see it, here it is in FSBuild: Killing time on an endurance flight? CheckDoing it in an amsuing way? CheckAll around awesome? Check

I understand that PMDG will not model the EFB in the 777 and 747-8. Instead of leaving the EFB place vacant in the 747-8, PMDG can at least use the EFB as a graphical load manager and fuel manager with diagrams that show seating chart, fuel load distribution etc.. This looks visually better than loading fuel and passengers thru FMC. I'm just comparing with what i've seen in X-plane aircraft like SSG 747-8. Also, in SSG 747-8, when you zoom in all the way on the ND, you can see the airport layout.. will this feature be available in PMDG 747-8 v2? Vinod Kumar.

Hey Guys, I have a couple questions to ask. 1. I bought the 747x a year ago more or less at Frys Electronics. I bought a new computer that has windows 7 professional and I noticed that the box only has XP and Vista shown. Should it still be able to work? 2. I was thinking about buying the -8. Are the graphics the same as the NGX?
