Hello, seeing that the 777 is very close to release (as close as counting in days rather than weeks might be prudent), I shall start asking the questions on the 747v2. First off. For the 747-400, Honeywell offers an FMS upgrade to the "NGFMS", which is purpotedly very close to what the 747-8 has. What is the plan for the PMDG 747-400 to have included? Will it be the old one, the new one, or possibly, both, to be chosen(on initial, or planner later)? Second: The 747v2 line is told to include both the 747-400 variant and the 747-8 variant (in passenger and freighter hulls). Which one is planned to come earlier? Obviously the 747-400 is more widespread with airlines, and has simpler avionics, but it has three engine options. Meanwhile the 747-8 is less common, but so is the 77L, which comes first in the 777 lineup. The 8 also has only one engine option, bringing similar benefit to the development as the 77L compared to 77E, 772 and 773. The advanced avionics of the 8 would argue against it, but many differences (the ECL system perhaps the most notable) have been modelled for the 777 already.

Hi, Just a tip for anyone struggling with the new Prepar3dv4 compatible 747 QOTS II installer seeming to just shutdown with no error and then the installation exe disappearing, for me it was actually Avast, and disabling all shields for 10 minutes let the installer complete successfully. I realise the fleet Captain probably said very clearly to disable anti-virus when installing, but it didn't stop me not following instructions, so maybe this will help someone equally nonobservant :D -
Appologies if this topic has been answered already, but: will the 747v2 have any kind of improved or existing support for touch tablets being used to perform such functions as the FMC? this being able to be on a dedicated, touch capable device, would be a very nice capability. regards, peter belbin.

Guys... During the writing of one of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling made an alias account and logged onto a predictions/expectations forum and tossed around some of her ideas for the book. Many of them were shot down and rejected. Here's what I'm puzzling on... Imagine if some dev team member made a second account as somebody like xxjoshamxX (not a real person, made up), and was galavanting around the forums making perfectly accurate predictions and release date predictions. WE WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW.

Hey Guys, Just want to tell you that I love the Boeing 747, the only problem is after flying and loving the 737 and 777 and mastering them it is really difficult to fly the 747. It would be awesome if the queen of the skies was just like the 737 and 777... Any news on the update??? I think it is 747 V2??? Thanks

I understand that PMDG will not model the EFB in the 777 and 747-8. Instead of leaving the EFB place vacant in the 747-8, PMDG can at least use the EFB as a graphical load manager and fuel manager with diagrams that show seating chart, fuel load distribution etc.. This looks visually better than loading fuel and passengers thru FMC. I'm just comparing with what i've seen in X-plane aircraft like SSG 747-8. Also, in SSG 747-8, when you zoom in all the way on the ND, you can see the airport layout.. will this feature be available in PMDG 747-8 v2? Vinod Kumar.
