Hi, I am ruinning FSX alonf with REX 2.0, GEX and Ultimate Terrain. Can I install ASE along with this setup or would I have to uninstall REX 2.0? The two programs seem very similar but ASE seems tp provide a more realistic cloud and weather generator. Do I require FSUIPC or SIMCONNECT if I install ASE? If so, where can I d/l (purchase) a current version of SIMCONNECT? Thanks for your help. Phil

Hi,I'm new to this forum and apologize if my problem have been reported before. I searched and couldn't find anything. I'm no english native, so errors in the writing may occur. My PC flight system is built up with Win XP Prof. SP3, FSX SP2 and ASE Build 647 (SP3).Yesterday I was flying the LDS767 from Toronto to Munich when, at about two hours after start, ASE ceased operation and wanted to report the issue to Microsoft, to which I agreed. Several tries of restarting ASE failed and so I continued my flight with a steady (but too weak) tailwind over the atlantic. On descent towards Munich Airport I tried again to start ASE and had luck: no error! After closing down everything at the gate, I had a look inside 'ASE_SimConnectionLog.txt' and found several lines with 'SIMCONNECT_EXCEPTION_DATA_ERROR'.Any help appreciated.Hans

I just recently bought and downloaded Active Sky Evolution as I was getting fed up with the default FSX weather causing my aircraft to overspeed due to unrealistic winds, and then subsequently crash. Now, I am having a slight issue with keeping ASE as the default weather. I have the weather set up on FSX and "User Defined". I run ASE before starting up FSX. To first get ASE to be the primary weather, after I start the flight I have to open my menu, go to weather, and hit the "OK" button (because, as stated, User Defined is already selected). Now, occasionally as I am flying I get the warning of that I am overspeeding, and looking at the MFD on the default B738, I see the winds have changed from what is showing on the ASA Weather Radar (for example, instead of from 263 @ 90kts what it should be, it is 070 at 100kts, or instead of a strong tailwind, it becomes a strong head wind). When this occurs, I re-open the menu, go to weather again and hit OK, and everything syncs back up with Active Sky. Anyone know what causes the default stupid FSX to override the ASE weather? Thanks!

Hello Folks, I have some questions about Historical weather data in ASE. This question relates to Online Historical Data. If I select a GMT hour for a particular date, does the weather then 'play back' the METARs until the flight finishes? So for example, if I select 29 August 2011 GMT 0100 to start and my flight is for 3 hours, will the weather at the destination be what ever it was at GMT 0300? I have in the past been using the Offline Static Data and, using the example above, would have selected "Multiple Dates/Times" and then downloaded 29 August 2011 0100; 29 August 2011 0200; 29 August 2011 0300 and 29 August 0400 (in case of any holding instructions...). I really want to clarify if the way I have been obtaining my historical weather data is the correct way or whether there is a quicker way of obtaining the METAR I want. It may or may not be relevant, but I have downloaded SP3. Regards, Nick

Hello,Not really sure how to do this forum thing but i'm a little desprate. Yesterday I purchased Active Sky Evolution and tried loading it. I get an error saying " Registry Access Failure. Please contact support..etc." I did so and have yet to hear anything back from them. I followed the installation instructions to the letter and even tried to HiFi support pages remedies for ASE not starting. I am pulling my hair out! I have no idea what could be wrong and there is hardly any topics out there on ASE let alone my specific issue. Anyone have any ideas?BTW, I'm running:Intell E55004gb RamWindows Vista Home Basic 32BitMS FS2004MS FS X

I picked up a partial plane full of British passengers on vacation in Key West. Since the runway is so short (that takeoff is a story in itself), I had minimal fuel on board. My plan was to stop at KMIA, refuel, and pick up additional passengers returning to EGKK. In order to make the trip, I figured I needed to stop somewhere in the northeast to refuel again for the trip across the pond. I selected Bangor, Maine. Nice, long runway, good facilities, and a motel nearby for the passengers to get a good nights rest before the final leg of the trip in the morning. After takeoff from KMIA, I noticed the weather was nice, but I had a pretty stiff wind quartering from the port side. As the trip progressed northward, the wind swung around to the tail, and by the time I was over Virginia, I was making great time with a huge tailwind. Right before I began my descent, I saw ominous clouds building in front of me and began preparations for a bumpy ride down. It wasn't too bad until I turned final for runway 33. WHAM !! Those 70-80 knot tailwinds aren't so friendly when they are slamming you from the side. I had no idea what my airspeed was, the tape was bouncing off the gauge up and down. Soon after this screenshot, the autopilot disconnected and I knew my only hope was to hand fly this landing. I could hear the passengers crying and screaming from the cabin. Or it might have been the flight attendants. As usual, my First Officer offered absolutely no assistance. A mighty battle ensued with mother nature, but in the end I was able to touch down about halfway down the runway and safely land the plane. We're staying in Bangor an extra day, while engineers check out the landing gear.

Hi. 1) Is ASE the last development for FS9 by HIFI? I'm interested in the the latest development by HIFI for FS9. 2) Where can I order it? Can't find any single third party online vendor to buy it from. Thank you,
