Folks, I have Active Sky and REX SkyForce currently, and thinking about adding Environment Force as well. Is there currently a decent tutorial to make all these add-ons work well together? I'm concerned about getting the WX Radar to work on PMDG/FS-Labs and no clue how to set all that up, plus the visuals, shaders, etc... Do I need PTA as well? Grateful for any advice on how to config all this! -Bill

Hello guys, has anyone good settings for these programms (all should work together!): Prepar3dv4.5 HF2 Active Sky (for Weather) REX Environment Force (Automatic Mode) REX SkyForce (Textures, Programm can be closed - Environment Force will take the textures from SkyForce - I read somewhere) Tomatoshade ENVTEX (not sure if I need this anymore???) I've big problems with Tomatoshade, I can't find a good profile working with all the other programms. Too dark, too much haze, ... Anyone running all these programms together? Thanks Urmel

Hello Captains, Do any of my fellow Active Sky users also use ZA free or Pro, if so how is it configured for AS? Recently, after an update, it began interfering with ASP3Dv4.5; specifically it never rains in southern California.....nor anywhere else for that matter! AS is properly installed with admin rights and full permissions in ZA. AS communicates with HiFi's servers and downloads weather updates as normal but ZA is somehow obstructing this data from getting through to P3D. I noticed this abnormality recently when we had a heavy downpour one day, yet none at my local airports within the sim. Not a spot of rain, until I shut down ZA, then...viola...rain, glorious rain! From the manual "In order for proper radar data communication to take place between ASConnect (server) and ASP4 (client), you must open the Radar data network port (TCP) on both machines for incoming packets. By default this port is 19284" I suspect that this is the problem, can anyone tell me how to open this port in ZA? I'm using a single Pc btw, any help appreciated, thanks

Hi, I currently use REX texture direct with soft clouds enhanced edition, Orbx Global, Vector, Europe LC, Active Sky Cloud art and Active sky along with PTA and THOPAT setting. I've disabled REX textures for clouds as I understand ASCA does this for me but its on for everything else, tarmac, taxiway etc - I think I've understood that right as ASCA should over rule REX as the cloud texture drawer as its better at it? I've seen the news from THOPAT and its optimised for Envtex and I'm wondering if this product is basically the same as REX? Therefore is there any benefit to having both REX and Envtex? Including the questions above, how would you configure the programs to provide the best visuals - who should rule over who? ................and go!! Many thanks.

Huh....what are the odds...was browsing the hifisimtech site and the main page went offline for about a min....refreshed and now they have AS16 for Prepar3D V4. Fantastic timing for me as I was going to the site to see where things stood with V4! Enjoy! Mark

A lot of you who use P3Dv4 with Active Sky have probably experienced the problem that when flying during sunset/sunrise with a thick overcast cloud layer, your frame rate tanks to unacceptable levels. More than four years ago, I made a video, in which I showed how to improve the performance in P3Dv3 during such conditions. In the following new video, I will revisit this problem, but this time I am using P3Dv4. You will learn how to improve the cloud performance under critical cloud conditions in a very quick, flexible and convenient way. Highly recommended!
