A friend in my VA who has the excellent 737NGX was attempting an autoland on 22L at KBOS. He said it would not take and so landed it by hand. My thoughts, as a non-expert, are that 22L isn't CAT II or CAT III so there is no autoland possible on that one runway. Another member of the VA said it doesn't matter what CAT it is because FSX doesn't know the difference. Can anyone explain why he could not autoland if he was properly setup? Was it (1) just a fluke, did he (2) do something wrong, or is the 737NGX (3) so accurately modeled that 22L of KBOS can't have an autoland despite what FSX thinks?

Hello! I am just getting into Flight Simming and so far it is amazing! For the PMDG Autoland feature for the 737 do I need to have digital standby instruments or can I have analog standby instruments? Personally I like the analog standby more, but I haven’t been able to complete an Autoland with them, and in every video I have seen they have had digital standby instruments, however the digital standby instruments are the default for PMDG, so I was thinking they might not have changed it from the default. Sorry, I know this was kind of a stupid question... Any help is appreciated! Sincerely, Jelly

I can Autoland CATIII at other airports where the runways are designated as CATIII capable, but in 2 different flights from EBBR to EGLL, I was unable to have both CMD a/p buttons remaining lit during final approach and the CATiii landing failed in both cases.Does anyone know what I might have done wrong? Configured Runway Length for 27R at Heathrow on the HUGS setup panel 12798 feet Entered Runway Altitude in HUGS panel 79 feet Confirmed 3 degree GLS in HUGS panel Selected PRI in MODE for HUGS panel STBY AIII ARM in HUGS panel Set CRSE both seats for 271 degreesSet NAV1 and NAV2 both for 110.30 hzFollowing the above for other airports such as CYVR (Vancouver Int'l) the plane autolands including flare just fine. I simply push the nose down following touchdown and engage the reverse thrusters and then the brakes - spot on.None of this works as I expect at Heathrow. The A/P switches from Capt to FO (they will NOT both remain lit, even during the very final portion of the approach)Any suggestions will be most welcome - thanks. If perchance there is NO Cat3 capability at EGLL, I'd love to hear it, but that disagrees with what my other resources say.

Hi everybody, i´m flying the NG now realy for a while without any hotfixes (cause i nerver got a freeze, or CTD)But i watched an "issue" after the NG perform an autoland. On the ground the rudder is steering everytime to the fully right (when i set it to neutral and lief the rudder in nutral position). That was all the time by doing an "Fail-OP" autoland. By the way: Can someone please explain me in a few words, how to perform an autoland with "fail-pass" config!? THX
