Hello to everyone, I'm experiencing cloud flashing like having storm, i've search google about this problem and couldn't find anything, many topics discussing cloud flickering problem around mountains, my problem is different than this. I applied the SwarmCloud fix, nothing changes, can you help me? Hello, I have some FPS issues in P3Dv3.4. My PC isn't the best but my performance drops from awesome 17 FPS with clear skies to average 10 in thunderstorm. I am using REX skyforce which I installed immediately after getting P3D so I'm not sure if it hits fps more than default clouds. REX settings are the lowest - for best performance. I found out by extensive testing that cirrus clouds don't hit FPS, and the issue is mainly with cumulonimbus clouds (and other storm clouds) I tried to reduce the file size of the textures with online .bmp compressor which didn't help, also tried reducing resolution from 512x512 to 128x128, no difference. Also tried to restore the default .cld models located in Prepar3D v3\Weather\clouds (friend with same version had to send them to me since REX backup failed completely), doesn't seem to help much either .cfg settings are both minimum for the clouds and no antialiasing used Only thing that seems to help is using simple clouds (not detailed) they have no fps impact, but they look terrible, especially the storm (there is no storm, just a few 2D clouds) I also read about Cloud.fx in Prepar3D v3\ShadersHLSL\ (there are also other cloud related .fx files in here) that some changes can help performance (people used older versions of this file from v2, but all of these downloads are no longer available) So, the questions: Is there anything I can do to improve the clouds performance? (modifying .bmp's or the cloud.fx file (maybe someone could send the modifyed or older to me)) OR Is there a way to make the simple clouds look like an actual storm and overcast and not just blue skies? Thank you so much. Regards, Dominik

Hi, I left a message on the main website for the DX10 fixer but it seems not to have got through, so I figured I'd try here. I bought the DX10 Fixer and Cloud Shadow utilities for FSX but need to download the installers again. Can you help?

Hi there, So I've installed PTA and now my clouds have this weird Pixelated/Oily look to them. I've restored Shaders and it fixes it until I load another PTA preset in again. I've tried to delete my Shaders file located in %appdata%, my ShadersHLSL and repaired the P3D client to rebuild ShadersHLSL and also deleted by P3D cfg, however still no luck. It even got to a point where I decided to do a complete reinstall of P3D v4 but no luck. Anyone able to help? It'll be much appreciated 🙂 Also for the reference, look carefully at the clouds... https://imgur.com/bwEpsw1 Originally, when I first installed PTA it was working fine as seen here

I just accidentally stumbled across a screenshot thread elsewhere going back to the launch of the sim. I wish I hadn’t seen it because it’s just made me so depressed and angry at how the sim has been downgraded graphically since release. One can scroll through the posts and clearly see how the clouds get significantly worse in terms of quality at SU5, and then just since SU7 are a total mess with all the ridiculous towering convective CB clouds on the ground basically but just over the airport where the METAR data is been so poorly rendered. I really wish I hadn’t seen it, it made me furious. Anyone else get this kind of feeling?

These first five screenshots were captured during segments of a flight from Ft Myers, Florida, to Hilton Head, South Carolina, as I get my leased Kodiak 100, two-sixty-two Pappa, in position to begin a Caribbean trek. The weather started just south of Lakeland and continued until past Gainesville. Some incredible clouds, caught between layers at 9,000 ft. Looks like a vortex in the center of this shot, off behind the tail. Some stunning cloud formations and color. Looking more ominous despite tbe break off the right wing. I chose 9,000 ft to stay under reported icing conditions and above light to moderate chop reported at lower altitudes. Man! Talk about picking your way through.... Probably good that I was flying alone.... Finally breaking out into cleaner air between Gainesville and Jacksonville, Florida A look at the mouth of the Fort George River in the Nassau River-St. Johns River Marshes Aquatic Preserve north of Jacksonville, Florida, and just below the Florida-Georgia border. A view in the background of the snaking branches of the Mackay River between Brunswick and St Simon's Island along the coast of Georgia. Tomorrow I will be boarding an Allegiant flight from Hilton Head to Baltimore to get home, then packing and making other preparations. Then I will fly my wife and another couple to Hilton Head in my Turbo Bonanza. We will golf for a couple of days near Hilton Head. Then we will hop in the Kodiak and head back to Ft Myers to pick up two other "simulated" couples. That will be a quick stop, then on to Key West for a couple of days of golfing there before heading down to the Cayman Islands to begin the trek.

(larger image if clicked) So spotting a CB in MSFS has been a rarity. Actually, I do not believe I have ever spotted an isolated CB (cumulonimbus cloud or thunderhead). So this is looking east from KDEN this afternoon. MSFS SU9. The Hjet G3000 wx radar did show some showers in the area, but this appears to rise from the earth. Any reports of nuclear tests this afternoon in Colorado?

Odd issue and I'm not finding anything in the search so I apologize if a duplication. When fly the HGS on the NGX in the clouds, the HUD keeps dimming in and out to a point where you can not read it. Thought this is odd as clouds should not have an effect on the brightness of the HUD. Also, bad time to loose the ability to read the hud also. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I just got upgraded to the latest version of MSFS Premium (1.26.50) after re-installing on C:\Steam with lots of space and rolling cache on a 2 TB NVMe system drive. Are these dark clouds normal now in MSFS? Live weather is off. This is at KSFO (San Francisco). Also, after the latest upgrade shouldn't the bespoke airport KAVX look like the picture on the left below instead of what it is on the right? I have ORBX's KAVX but I don't have it installed in the Community folder. Thank you.

Hello , first gracias to Pablo Diaz for the excellent freeware package! I have only 2 small doubts , the folder which contains the Cirrus clouds are Only for cirrus or they change other type of clouds? And i see some of them are 1024x1024 , so how much it affects frame rates? I fly in a Acer 5012 laptop and installed the normal 512x Cumulus , so how about the Cirrus package?Thank youAlexandre Cortez

Here's a video I've made featuring the new default clouds in X-Plane 11 beta 14, which look pretty good compared to the previous clouds!
