I've recently bought Steve's DX10 Fixer (v5.4 Build 156) for FSX (disc version with SP2). I'm just wondering if it automatically runs in the background without any prompt from me at FSX startup? Anything I need to do? Secondly, I'm a bit confused about the User Preferences box "Check for FSX running on Startup". Do I need that to be ticked or not? I know it's in the manual but it's not clear. Thanks!!

Ezdok is not responding when in the PMDG 747 QotS II using FSX-Steam, DX10 preview and Steve's DX10 fixer. The Ezdok control panel opens but if I try to click on any part of it the panel just "blinks" and will not accept any mouse commands. The FSX-Steam, DX10 preview and Steve's DX10 fixer setup works fine with all other aircraft including the PMDG 737 and DC6; it's only the 747 which causes problems which is why I've posted the problem here. I have noticed that when initially loading an aircraft Ezdok uses about 25% CPU and then quickly drops to <1% but with the 747 it remains at around 25%. Can anyone offer a solution please? TIA Dave Wild

Hi, I left a message on the main website for the DX10 fixer but it seems not to have got through, so I figured I'd try here. I bought the DX10 Fixer and Cloud Shadow utilities for FSX but need to download the installers again. Can you help?

Hello Forum Land, I have a question and an issue and can't seem to find an answer, so I will throw it out to this august body ;-) I did a complete HD wipe, installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro, FSX and P3DV4. I kept FSX so I could use the Aerosoft Bus and I'm a tad too cheap to pay for the 777 and 744 upgrade to P3DV4. On my old installation, I had DX10 running nicely on FSX. For some reason, this kept me out of VAS hell and I could fly the 777 or the 744 into KLAX, VHHH or EDDF (All very high end add ons) with no concern for the dreaded VAS crash. Now, when I have DX10 on in FSX, any time I change views in ANY PMDG (Or Aerosoft Bus) aircraft, I get this strange scenery flash before it settles down on the new window. I have traced this to DX10 and it only seems to be an issue with PMDG and the AS Bus. TFDI has no issue or any other add on. I know PMDG does NOT support DX10, but there are a lot of very smart people here who might have something to add. RSR, I promise I will move the 777 and 744 to P3DV4, but I need a bit of time, then I will be done with FSX, but not until I can afford to move my PMDG birds. AS will have the bus ready for P3DV4 ASAP ( I know, I'm on the beta team :-) Scott

For long I tried to use DX10 preview in FSX. But there were several issues that kept me from really doing it. The more experienced simmers here will know what I'm talking about.Since a few days I found the solutions, that make the experience with DX10 preview more than acceptable for me. I'd like to share this, for those who are interested.I started wiht Addon Converter X and it really works well!! Be sure to read and apply the instructions though! This not to expensive tool converts the dx9 textures of scenery (like airports, yes also third parties like Aerosoft and UK2000) to DX10 textures, so you don't have gray blocks with dusk, dawn and night.another negative effect of DX10 preview (rain/snow-tunnel-effect) I also solved with this link: http://forums1.avsim...d/page__st__25#The runway flickering I don't notice (yet). but there are solutions for that here: http://forum.avsim.n...flickering-fix/The only thing I couldn't solve was the loss of texture of the airport vehicles and AES jetways. However I kind of worked around this by disabeling the apron traffic (dx9 textures) on my addon airports (Aerosoft and UK2000) and ditching AES Help for GSX by Virtuali (fully compatible with DX10 preview and much nicer than AES). The FSX jetways can be moved by ctrl-J and are DX10 compatible.I gain a lot of extra FPS and can use the bloom effect now with the sliders way up!All these, together with UTX Europe and GEX Europe I've got stunning views and very smooth fps!!!
