  1. Please do not ask questions in this forum. Only answers should be posted here! If you have a question to ask about any "Tip or Trick" posted, use the PM system (Private Message). That is what it is for. Alternatively, ask your question in the appropriate forum, with a link back to the original "Tip or Trick."Please note that any originating post that asks a question will probably be deleted. If I'm in a good mood I may move the question to the appropriate forum, but......don't count on that. B) If you wish to ask a question about darned near anything FS related, simply click over to the Main P3D Forum and have at it. I am also quite sure that virtually no one will bother to actually read and adhere to this post...
  2. Suggestion - Instead of tagging a topic as XP11, FSX, etc., it would be better to Prefix the Topic with a Prefix showing FSX, FSX-SE, XP11, P3DV4, P3D, FSW, etc. This way, if someone wanted to see everything XP11, they could click on the Prefix XP11 and all of the topics with XP11 would appear. I have Prefixed some but there are many more. Making a Prefix is like making a Tag. Just click on the Tags and enter your Tag, then CLICK on the BOX to save it and you should see "Item Prefix" is set to None but you click on that at you will see you tag listed. Click on the item and Save and you will have a Prefix for your Title. Enjoy! Best regards, Jim
  3. AVSIM does not currently host image posting via the attachment system so you will have to link your image from a 3rd party hosting provider such as Photobucket, ImageShack, Google, OneDrive, Imgur, or, the one I use FS Files.org - http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/. Most services provide 5GB's or more of free space to upload your images. Once you upload your image to a hosting provider, the image should have a box in one of the corners that you can check. Once checked, you should be given the option to "get an embed code". Click on that and it will offer HTML embed codes or BBCodes embed codes. AVSIM uses the BBCode system so click on the "BBCode embed' and a link should appear (if not, check with your hosting provider on procedures for obtaining an embed code). Copy the link and then go to your post or topic and paste the link into the topic. You can also choose to link to the file on one of the hosting services too. In that case, the image will now show up on AVSIM and members will be sent to the hosting site to view the image. Your image will not appear until you click on reply or submit topic. If you want to edit the post or topic after you have replied or posted a new topic, you can edit it for up to two hours. If, after two hours, you want further edits, you will have to click on the "Report" button and tell our moderators what action you want taken. One of our members has posted a more detailed explanation in the Screenshot Forum here on AVSIM that may help you if you are still having problems posting an image - Make sure images comply with our Screen Shot Rules - https://www.avsim.com/AVSIM Pages/screen_shot_rules.html/ If you continue to have problems posting an image, please use the Contact Form under the 'Contact Us' tab at the top of the AVSIM Forums.
  4. Was just Great but now after the "Ultimate traffic...initialized" message there are two error messages: "Error loading aircraft assignments, Index was out of range must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection Parameter name- Index" then: "Error loading Aircraft Assignments. Invalid Argument= Value of '0' is not valid for "selected index" Parameter name: SelectedIndex " Anyone know how I can fix this? Neal Howard
  5. Hello, I installed ImagineSim's New Laguardia and have the below scenery issues: I'm not quite sure what could be causing this and believe me I've tried everything to fix it. I looks to be an elevation issue or a conflict with something else, however, the only other sceneries I have in the area are FTX Global and FSDT's KJFK v2, everything else is default. I've reached out to Orbx and they advised that Global is not causing the issue. I've reached out to ImagineSim, and, while they have been responsive, they have not been able to resolve the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Oddly the FSX version of LGA works just fine, however, the FSX and the default versions appear to have a higher elevation than the P3D version. If anyone can help please share your thoughts as I love the scenery and it's one that I will use frequently. Thanks, James Castonguay P3D v3 i7 4790 4.0 Ghz GTX970 4GB

  9. Hey All, I'm currently using a GTX 750 Ti and I think the time has come to upgrade that GPU. It depends on the situation but sometimes the 750 ti has a 100% load and everything starts to stutter so I put the tessellation settings to low. I'm planing that when I have a more powerful GPU, these stutters will go away and after putting the tessellation setting to max I get a small fps boost too. It's very important to know that I don't play a lot of graphic intensive games and when I do the settings don't have to be on ultra. For me it's no problem if they are "only" on high, as long as the frames are at 45, witch I'm getting at the moment. I have 2 possibilities : Upgrading to a GTX 970 or a R9 380, both 4 Gb Vram. Is the R9 380 (equivalent to GTX 960) enough for Prepar3d at the moment ? I fly some pmdg aircrafts, sometimes on flytampa sceneries with all the usual addons like Rex and so on.. If so, I'll take the r9, if not I consider purchasing the 970. I want you to remember that I upgrade the GPU only for Prepar3d and not for gaming in general. I hope somebody can help me with the decision
  10. Bored of waiting for FSLabs A320 and fancying a new challenge. I only enjoy very realistic systems heavy simulations which I can follow real world FCOMs and procedures with. Recently got the A300B4 FCOM so wondered about SimCheck. Does it work in P3D and does anyone have any experience of using it? Cheers Rich
  11. When posting images in the forums, please follow the tutorial at the following link - Please continue to follow the image posting rules as follows (rules are also shown under the Rules & Policies Tab above): Images posted to AVSIM must conform to these rules. Images must be posted in the AVSIM Screen Shot Forum or the Real Aviation Photos Forum. Images are not allowed in other AVSIM forums unless the image is required to show a problem you are having or images of configuration settings. Non-flight simulation images can be linked in the Hangar Chat Forum if required to show or emphasize the title of the topic. Anything related to Flight Simulation or Real Aviation will be moved to the appropriate Screen Shot Forum. Images posted in topics that are actually screenshots to show off an aircraft or scenery will be split from the topic and moved to the appropriate Screen Shot Forum. Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting (http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/), or a website that you own. Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections. Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program. No more than 20 images per post. Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement. AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM. Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately. See Signature Rules for posting images in your signature. If you have any questions or comments, please PM me or one of the AVSIM Moderators.

  13. In order to keep the tips & tricks section useful, the sub-forum has now been made readonly. Any posts and guides created here which prove useful will be moved to this section and will be set as readonly/locked to keep them on-topic. Hopefully, our X-Plane forum will become more useful by making use of the other areas instead of using the "General Discussions" area as a single forum. If you would like to post or update any topics in the tips & tricks section then please let a moderator know.
  14. If you forget to add a prefix to your topic in the FSX/FSX-SE forum, here's how to go back and do it. These procedures apply when you create a topic too. Type your subject to the new topic then click on Add Tag Then type the first letter of a tag (F) for FSX-MS or FSX-SE. You will then get a list of options. Then clicking on the box that contains "None" will give you the Prefix which is the same as the Tag You will then see FSX-MS for your Prefix. Click Save and you will see the Prefix in front of your Topic Title.
  15. Hello @ll, welcome to the new Lorby-SI support forums. In the next couple of days I will be moving content from the previous forums here, so stay tuned Forum rules AVSIM staff does not moderate in the Lorby-SI forums, but the same rules apply for content and conduct of users as they do for all of AVSIM. Posts violating the AVSIM rules will be locked or hidden. Getting support for Lorby-SI products All Lorby products to date have been programmatic solutions for specific simulation requirements. In plain words, they are very complicated internally, some several tens of thousands of lines of code worth. So only the most basic issues regarding handling or usage can be solved in a forum like this. If you run into more complex issues, it will be necessary to contact me directly, using the form on the Lorby-SI website: http://lorby-si.weebly.com/contact-us.html If you need that kind of assistance, it will be required that you provide your full name and your order number from SimMarket. Best regards Oliver Binder Lorby-SI
  16. Attention FS2Crew NGX 'REBOOT' Drivers: The Version 3.1 update has been released! This is a FREE and significant update. All FS2Crew NGX Reboot users should install it. VERSION 3.1 IS BUILT INTO THE MAIN INSTALLER ONLY. YOU WILL NEED TO LOGIN TO YOUR FS2CREW ACCOUNT AND RE-DOWNLOAD THE MAIN INSTALLER AGAIN. LOGIN TO YOUR FS2CREW ACCOUNT AND CLICK "COMPLETED ORDERS". YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL NGX REBOOT FIRST. IF YOU REQUIRE ASSISTANCE, SEND US A SUPPORT TICKET VIA: WWW.FS2CREW.COM IF YOU PURCHASED VIA A 3RD PARTY VENDOR, YOU WILL NEED TO REDOWNLOAD NGX REBOOT FROM THEM. GIVE THEM A FEW DAYS TO GET THE UPDATED FILE ON THEIR SERVER. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR P3D V3 USERS: 1. The P3D V3 version of NGX Reboot uses its own unique Configuration Manager. The P3D V3 specific Config manager will be placed on your desktop after you install the P3D V3 version of Reboot. It's called: "P3D V3 REBOOT CONFIG MANAGER". 2. Although I told everyone to wait for the official P3D V3 version some of you attempted to migrate NGX Reboot from FSX or P3D V2 into P3D V3 anyway. If you attempted to manually migrate to P3D V3 (or even if you used a migration tool), your NGX panel.cfg file is now messed up probably. Easiest solution: 1. Uninstall the NGX aircraft. 2. Manually delete the left over PMDG 737 folders in the SimObjects folder. This step is very important. 3. Re-install the NGX. 4. Your panel.cfg file is now totally fresh and clean. 5. Re-enable FS2Crew NGX Reboot. CHANGE LOG: VERSION 3.1 13 JANUARY 2017 1. 'ATC Client Xponder' Config Option state will now save properly. Previously it would reset if you press the CFG button. 2. Per user request, you can now toggle the SECONDARY PANEL via a hotkey or joystick button. Assign a button to: NITROUS TANK VALVE TOGGLE. 3. Slight pause fixed after calling for the Secure Checklist. 4. Eliminated that possibility the "Master Caution - Hydraulics" could play in SOP3 during Engine Start with Emergencies enabled. 5. If SOFT or HARD MUTE active, Green Bar will no longer appear on the screen when speech is detected <- THIS ONE IS SIGNIFICANT. 6. Flap Movement Check option fixed. 7. Global Voice Set (UK Voice Set 2) "Landing Checklist" sound fixed. 8. If using the spoiler to trigger the After Landing Flow, the new minimum ground speed to trigger the flow is 50 knots up from 20. 9. New CFG option to disable the FO's timer during Engine Start. A user reported he experienced the occasional CTD during Engine Start. We linked it to the 737's FO's timer. If it's ever an issue for your, just disable this option. VERSION 3.0 17 SEPT 2016 NEW! 1. Support for the new NGX Reboot Global FO Voice Pack. 2. KLM airlines Config option: Taxi Lights will be turned off during the runway entry flow. 3. Key Board/ Joystick button command to pause the Crew audio per user request. To toggle the audio pause function, assign a keyboard/joystick button to WING FOLD command. When active, note the new flashing symbology on the Main Panel: AUDIO! 4. GOL airlines cfg option: When announcing "LAND", THE FO will turn on the Retractable landing lights. 5. Minor symbology on the SECONDARY panel updated per user request. 6. New voice callouts to which the FO will reply "checked": GREEN LIGHT ON THE AERO BRIDGE MARSHALLER IN SIGHT MY AIRPLANE MY THROTTLES AUTOPILOT COMING OUT CHANGED: 1. FO now starts 3 minute timer as the first step in his after landing flow per user request. FIXED: 1. SOP 3: Should no longer get a 'MASTER CAUTION HYDRAULICS' when starting engines. 2. FO should no longer announce "Cabin Crew Seats for Landing" when calling for flaps five during a touch and go. Note: The circuits are meant to be flown at flaps 5, so you really should't be calling for flaps five anyway. 3. "LETS TAXI BACK TO THE RUNWAY" command should now no longer result in a stuck mode after an RTO. 4. During 2nd sector, FO should now turn on the wheel well light as appropriate. 5. SOP 2 AFTER LANDING FLOW XPONDER user option now auto saves when you exit FS per user request. 6. Per user request, trigger for FO to start his after landing flow changed from 30 knots to 50 knots if stowing the spoiler is defined as the trigger. 7. If military option selected, FO will no longer inform you the cabin is not secure during takeoff. 8. Set Packs On/ Off and Auto voice commands removed per user request. 9. You should now be able to call for a Go Around during Rollout. 10. UK audio fixed for FULL UP and FULL DOWN. 11. Volume of ACARS printer reduced. VERSION 2.0 15 APRIL 2016 New! 1. Emergency NGX! Functionality (a FREE 24.95 EUR value!) The full set of Emergency NGX! procedures were ported over to Reboot. We promised when we released Reboot NGX that we would give all Reboot users Emergency NGX! for free, and we delivered on our promise  The new failures / non-normals functionality works with the AU voice set and it's designed for use with SOP 2, but you can also use it with SOP 1 and 2. The failures only work with Voice Control, not Button Control. Aborted Engine Starts APU Fault APU Fire Bleed Trip Off Cabin Altitude Warning or Rapid Depressurization Cargo Fire Drive EEC Alternate Mode Emergency Descent Engine Failure or Shutdown Engine Fire or Severe Damage Engine In Flight Start Evacuation Hydraulic Pump Overheat Loss of Hyd System A Loss of Hyd System B Off Schedule Descent One Engine Inoperative Landing Partial or All Gear Up Landing Probe Heat Reverser Standby Power Off Tailstrike TR Unit Transfer Bus Off Window Overheat 2. Geographic detection system update to better detect appropriate voice accent region for ground crew. 3. New CFG Options: SOP 2: Option to have the FO set the transponder during his After Landing flow instead of during the Shutdown flow (which is the actual way that do it at that airline ) Option to suppress the Flap Movement check during cold weather operations. 4. Voice Control: If the speedbrake is deliberately not armed during the Landing Checklist (for example, when flying circuits): speak "Down Detent" for the Speedbrake challenge. 5. Button Control: Gear down command skipped if gear already down. 6. If the Jetway CFG option is selected, the Jetway will now connect during gate arrival in SOP 3, even though this airline never uses gates in the real-world. The trigger is the "Cabin Crew Disarm Doors and Crosscheck" voice command. 7. On-Line ATC automatic transponder control option in the CFG menus renamed to: "On Line ATC XPNDR - YES/ NO" to prevent confusion. Remember that Prepar 3D Version 3 users should always set this option to NO due to a technical issue with P3D V3 if flying on-line using a pilot client. 8. 17. A recent battle with determining some issues in XP had led me to remove all third party enhancements, one of which being SkyMaxx. Before I re-installed SMP, I wanted to test out some of the manual dataref settings that I've seen people play around with, along with custom clouds and custom skycolors. So, the past few nights have seen me playing around with settings and testing things out. I'm really happy with my progress, and plan on sharing some screenshots. In fact, there was one post by Murmur quite along time ago that suggested using random weather patterns with system size set to max - my gosh, it was absolutely amazing to see. I'd yet to see as nice of looking weather as that yet in my sim. But normally I'm following the idea of using a very tall layer of scattered cumulus. However, my experimenting with datarefs also led me to playing with setting up the clouds manually via datarefs - a sort of 'make my own theme' kind of thing, that I can choose with a FlyWithLua macro. This led me to realize that I'd really like to have less overall cloud coverage then 'Scattered Cumulus' allows for, while keeping the nice tall fluffy clouds. But choosing 'Few Cumulus' seems to force a 2000' cloud height, no matter what I set via dataref. It also seems to produce these flat-ish not-so-nice looking clouds. So, is there a method to making a very sparse or occasional cloud coverage, while keeping the nice clouds produced via using scattered? Ideally, what I'd like to achieve is where there are nice looking large clouds, but they are spaced randomly, perhaps in small groups, fairly far apart, with lots of blue sky in-between. I think this would be a great representation of the isolated, but rather large cumulus clouds that I see around my area mid afternoon, that later start building up and become larger, perhaps ending as thunderstorms. Is there a way to write the info that XP uses when it shows you what the regenerated weather looks like?
  18. On December 24th after completing a vfr flight from Innsbruk to Salzburg I shut down my newly uptated P3d (v3.4.18 19475) complete with updates for AS2016 + ASCA, GSX, FSUIPC, I awoke 24th to find P3d would nor run up, jumping out of startup, remaining in memory but requiring a Task Manager sutdown to exit. Checking Microsoft Log for errors I found two error problems in GSX and FSUIPC not running. I reinstalled FSUIPC first and managed to get P3d running after a Client reinstall and a new P3d. cfg file, it ran once then would not run up again. Just tried to reinstall FSUIPC which installed again with no problem as if the old FSUIPC was still installed (usually FSUIPC objects if installation up to date) P3d ran again then crashed, restart ran up (no crash) shut down would not start. Reinstall FSUIPC P3d ran up worked shut down same result. On the FSX side it disappeared from Addons and I have yet to uninstall it completely since it is with FSUIPC that seems to be the prime source of the problem. How did this all come crashing down so soon without warning and why oh why is P3d nor stable? I guess I'm tired with it - 4 months to setup, got it working perfectly even past the updates, and now to awake one morning and find it trashed with no user input...all I know is that maybe I'm not supposed to continue with this torture....there are limits. P3d is the best Flight Sim around, and thats the trap - I'd love to go to XPlane but the thought of having an accurate flight engine marred by a circular ring of dirty cotton wool over my cockpit does not appeal (even in version 11). So its Lockheed or nothing and I think the powers that be have dictated to me that its nothing.... RIP P3d
  19. There is now a new forum for discussing particular X-Plane addons and I've moved over some of the threads there, e.g. (xEnviro, Ortho4XP), In order to keep this area for discussion of the main simulator, please post any topics discussing individual addons into the addons forum http://www.avsim.com/forum/439-x-plane-addons/. Comparisons or advice on which addons to purchase are still fine to post here, however the many posts about specific addons are burying other posts, and having addons discussed in that area should help others who would like to search out and look for information about specific or recommended addons. Thanks for your help keeping the forum tidy.
  20. I have made up my mind and go for P3D. But what else should I update? Let´s start with the ai traffic. I have had all kind of freeware stuff for ai traffic in FSX (WoAI, MAIW etc). What about traffic in P3D? Will tehy work or would this be right time to go to payware? And which one of the payware Ai addons should I pick up? UT? MyT? I fly mainly (95%) of my flight time in Europe, Northern Africa, Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and USA.
  21. Hey guys! At first I wish you all a good start into 2017! Here is my question: Is there any good Boeing 757 out there? One of my favourite planes is the Boeing 757 so I want to fly it and get used to her systems on my simulator. I'd like to see a 757 in PMDG quality (It would be cool if PMDG would start developing one after it's Queen of the Skies). What do you think is the best 757 you can get so far? Regards s110103
  22. I'd like your opinions on how to get night lighting corrected on my P3d v3.2 setup. Basically, it looks like any urban / suburban textures are a raging firestorm - way too bright and lit up everywhere. (I don't have a good place to store a photo, or I would have a link here...) My setup: - v3.2 - Orbx Global and LC NA - UTX roads - REX textures for water, sky, clouds - using PTA v2.0 I have tried every combination I can think of - Orbx night lighting on / off, UTX night lighting on / off, reduced the autogen emissive value in PTA. These things make a bit if difference, but overall it looks like a forest fire below me. The rest of my P3d world looks great. Thanks, Ron
  23. As a 20 year FSX user, I just switched over to P3D due to a FSX crash. I had the Freedom Tower and the lead in lights for JFK 13L/R added as simple downloads in FSX, but I can't find anything for P3D. I have not added any scenery since I will be getting a new computer next month. Anyone know where to get them (or can I simply use the FSX ones in P3D???) Also I have 4 FlyTampa airports for FSX, would I need to re-buy for P3D? or just re-install (since they are already in the old FSX folder)
  24. Hiu, after updating to the newest HF2 via post (client.msi deinstall and install the new one) I got a p3dv3 crash in startscreen. 25. Please look at the screen, a link for which is shown below. I have UTX Canada, GE3PD, PTA2.1 installed. Shaders were cleaned and restored a couple of times. Nothing helps https://www.dropbox.com/s/ct0f2b9pvfeytkk/Screenshot%202017-01-02%2011.04.31.png?dl=0 Would appreciate your assistance. Thanks Dmitriy
