  1. Hi folks. My old faithful finally expired and I now have an all singing and extremely irritating Windows 10 PC. My dislike of Win 10 is so great that I'm endeavouring to get the old XP machine running again. I'll probably have both machines running FS9 (no Cap'n Sim C-130 in Win 10. Not much of anything in Win 10 tbh). Hopefully without getting too sententious, I think if something is worth having, it's worth paying for it. I guess the original disc will do for both machines but do I need to make a new purchase or can I just obtain a new key for my new machine? Cheers, D
  2. Pretty sure I read somewhere that PMDG is no longer providing any type support for any of their Double Legacy (I say double because it seems all the "Legacy" aircraft are older FSX ones, at least in the B747-400 Legacy thread) FS2004 aircraft. That's a shame, because issues and questions do pop up from time to time and there really is no where to get answers without search after search after search. I purchased the FS2004 versions of the PMDG B737NG -600/-700 and the -800/-900 expansion pack, the B747-400 Queen of the Skies (now downgraded to Dowager Queen I guess), and the B1900D. I still use all three, four if you count the expansion pack, quite frequently and get just as much pleasure from them as I did eight years ago when I bought them. Luckily I have never had a issue with them and even a reinstall on a new system in 2014 went flawlessly, so there is that. Still, it's sad to think that if I ever do, I am probably out of luck with getting any type of help from PMDG, but I hope not. Won't know until and if such an issue arises. I mention this because a VATSIM friend is having an issue with the FS2004 B747-400 and I have been trying to help him, unsuccessfully, because I cannot reproduce the problem on my Dowager QOTS. Seems his FMC, which does have the latest (and same as me) AIRAC from Navigraph, keeps wanting to fly a previously flown route, no matter what route he manually places in the FMC. The FMC accepts his manual route, but as soon as he advances throttles the FMC reverts to an old route and tries to fly to the first waypoint in the old route, not the current manually input route he just entered. It is not a "saved" (or CO Route) route the FMC reverts to, just a previously manually entered route. It's as if the previous route was never "completed", yet he assures me it was and even then, once he shuts his simulator down it should clear the FMC anyway. Mine does. I have had him look in the default FS9 Default Flight Plans folder and in the FS9/PMDG/Flightplans/ folder to see if the previous route is stored in either place. It is not. Really confused as to why this is happening to him and, sadly, there is no where to turn for help except here and from what I have seen in the Legacy threads, "Legacy" does not mean FS2004. As I said, that is sad, because when you purchase a product you expect support for that product, certainly not warranteed support, but support nonetheless. I can still go to the Ford Dealership and get parts for my 1971 Ford 4WD pickup. Yes, they are more expensive than at a parts store, but they will help me and some parts must be obtained there. Anyway, I don't expect any answers, but I somehow feel better knowing at least I tried to help a fellow VATSIMMER and Dowager QOTS owner. 3. Hi, prior to uploading the FS9 conversion of the wonderful Telavi airport scenery by Georgian Virtual Airports (available via Avsimrus.com), I tested the scenery with a flight from Telavi to Mestia (the latter is also available in the library for P3D and FS9). I choose a versatile Let L-410 for my flight. The traffic is quite "colourful" at Telavi, which is almost exclusively a GA field and home of the Georgian Aviation University: Caucasus main chain in the setting sun: Above central Georgia (Bazaleti lake in the foreground, Mt. Kazbek at the horizon) Beginning descent (Mt. Tetnuldi and Shkhara in the background) Landing will be difficult (VFR only in Mestia)... ... but... ... all is o.k. at the end. While not as spectacular as most P3D mountain landscapes, these pictures from FS9 still look well imho, and I had a lot of fun to fly. I hope you will have fun, too. Regards, Harald
  4. Arrived, from Dusseldorf, to Christmas, at Rovaniemi. Merry Christmas!

  6. Hi, some impressions from short flights in north-eastern Germany, the Danish island of Bornholm and Poland. Starting in Werneuchen, a former fighter airfield east of Berlin: Crossing Berlin Tegel. Note the colours... Trying to lose height near Heringsdorf, at Usedom island in the Baltic Sea: Refueling - and taking of again. In Heringsdorf, some buildings still look GDR-like: At Bornholm - lost my drop tank here... Above the Polish sea coast Landed at Szczeczin-Goleniów It was fun flying that agile fighter plane; I hope the pictures bring at least a little impression of it. Regards, Harald
  7. Hi all, here are some shots of a journey from Tenerife to Luanda, capital of Angola, in three legs via Banjul/Gambia and Douala/Cameroun. Take-off at Tenerife-North (Los Rodeos): Above Mauretania: Turning in to Banjul Airport: The Presidential Fleet: The Gambian Air Force, consisting of one Su-25 (air superiority guaranteed...): Bamako: Bioko Island: Taxiing in Douala Up to the last leg to Luanda: I hope you enjoy these. Regards, Harald
  8. Hi, just a landing in Pipishegyi, one of my favourite GA fields, with my favourite GA plane. (Pipishegyi freeware scenery by Tamas and Peter Szabo. Pipishegyi is a small grass field situated on a mountain ridge in the Matra range in Northern Hungary.) Have fun! Regards, Harald

  10. Hi, I am new to the forum so apologise if I am asking about something already covered, could not see my problem discussed.I have recently reverted to FS9 after failing with FSX. I have a Dell XPS linked to a Go Flight system, Saitek rudder pedals and a CH Flight Sim yoke. My problem started in FSX and has migrated to FS9 when reinstalled. My view automatically cycles through Cockpit, Virtual, External and Tower views without touching anything. I have searched for conflicts but without success. This never happened when I originally used FS9.Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.Happy Holidays everyone.K

  12. Hi, Newbie, who has been away from Flight Sim for many years. I am trying to get my FS2004 loaded onto my Win10 with FSUIPC3 (registered copy). I was able to get FS2004 up and running, but when I tried to get my CH Products Yoke, CH Product Rudder Pedals, and Saitek Thottle Quadrant up and running in FSUIPC3 I get some interactions, and it has been so long since I had this going, I am not sure why. I will say that I also have FSX/Steam and FSUIPC4 installed and working great! with no interactions. I tried to emulate what I did with FSUIPC4 and that seems not to be working. What am I missing? By the way I went on Dowson FSUIPC forum, but he is away until next week. There is message that he does not support old versions. Is FSUIPC3 considered to be an "old version"? Thanks, Kent.

  17. Hi, here are some screenshots from a flight Mineralnye Vody URMM to Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport USSS via Magnitogorsk USCM, featuring the great Tu-134 model by SCS. Taxiing at URMM: Soon after take-off: A last view towards the Caucasus mountains far in the south: Descending: Very low sight at approach, but somehow I managed to land at Magnitogorsk for refuelling. The next morning: weather is slightly better now. Airport still empty! Taxiing... ... and departing Weather looks promising at Ekaterinburg Finally arrived; some shots from the neighbourhood of my stand. Lucky to see still a Tu-154 Heavy freighters of several times (are you there, Ed?) A last picture of the line-up at Koltsovo airport. I hope you have fun! Regards, Harald
  18. Hello to you all. I would very much like to thank all the respondents, particularly Sesquashtoo, Chock, Jim Young among others for their input to a variety of threads dealing with screenshots and Signature modification. I think I have finally worked out how to put some screenshots into a post and I would like to start with the birth of my new baby. She is an FS2004 IFLY 737 BBJ3. After two years of looking I found a gentleman who was willing to put up with my strange requests and idiosynchroncies. His name is Bartek or "Holo" and he has done a few repaints for the IFly737. I have to admit he has interpreted my wishes beautifully and actually contributed the tail and winglet design as my idea did not really marry up with the rest of the paint scheme. It has thus, become our baby, but I believe the final effort, the emergence from the repaint hangar, delivery and acceptance flight was very much worth the effort. I would also like to thank Bartek very publicly for his incredible work which he very generously did free of charge for me. This repaint will be available as a free download very shortly from the Flight1 download site and, if I can figure it out, I will also try to upload into the AVSIM Library for download. For other examples of his work (Bartek) please go to the Flight1 FS2004 Ifly screenshots forum. The following is a collection of his screen shots and some photos of mine. I hope you enjoy them and ANY words of praise or otherwise (please limit the otherwise LOL) would be very welcome. Regards to all Tony Chilcott
