  1. Having some fun with the DA42 Twin Star.
  2. Was checking out the update to FSW today and snapped this one of the JF Arrow
  3. Getting some pretty stunning sunsets!!
  4. Orbx Landclass now in FSW...YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FSW compiled the landclass...and as Jackie Gleason used to say; ........................"oh...how sweet it is"! FSW is getting like a comfy and favorite chair...it keeps ROCKING, right there by the Fall fire.....acorns, pine-cones n' all! Now going to add Europe OLC.... "and away, we gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Cheers,
  5. The lighting and ground textures / autogen still need some work, but flying above and below these clouds is really fun.
  6. Can we please get a Mission Editor sticky or dedicated forum for the FSW Mission Editor? Thanks!
  7. The bar that DTG has set for default GA aircraft in Flight Sim World, albiet some minor issues, is set pretty high.. When they release the new biz jet they are talking about, I'm just curious how it will be. Can't wait to see it...
  8. The first payware add-on for FSW is available now: FS-Flightcontrol gives you control over every aspect of your flight and includes a moving map too, visit the homepage here: https://www.fs-flightcontrol.com/en/ FS-Flightcontrol also works with FSX, FSX:SE, X-Plane and that submarine simulator I mean P3D, so it's got to be great value... You can select which sim you want to use it with on launch, it then loads the scenery.cfg for that sim on first run: Then specify your start location and any other factors you require: There's a free 14-day trial, it's a 58mb download which took about 20 seconds on my PC, give it a try!
  9. I've converted and repackaged (with his permission) Jamrom23T's excellent 70s themed repaints for the Justflight Piper Arrow III aircraft. You can find them in the FSW repaint download section here at https://library.avsim.net/index.php?CatID=fswrep
  10. Pretty with FTX...a flight from Shoreham to Blackbrushe Wondering whats coming from Orbx for FSW...I know, all the new releases are coming to Aerofly2 and X-Plane 11. I appreciate you looking at this pictorial, please feel free to comment...
  11. Gawd, this sim has 'Soul'! The night flight between KORS and Abbotsford, was so incredible...and the screen grabs do not due the actual upon-the-screen any sort of justice! I have stated many times since purchasing and installing, that this sim is so different from my FSX:SE, XP11, P3D v3.4...it has such depth of atmospheric 'feel'...you feel..that you flying through, and over the environment...especially at night. They have KILLED this..and not even RTM! The terrain, the lighting engine, the MOON...casting across the ocean...gawd...this is such a piece of work. I can't stop flying the dang thing...wow, wow, wow... The images don't have 30 percent of the depth and clarity of the real on-screen image..but whatever they are...just wanted to share this fabulous night operation experience..: To get some detail up...left click once upon each image, and then left click once more...then some details shows...
  12. All of these except for the first one are pics from a flight I took yesterday with the Grey and Rainy theme from KMRY to KSTS. I thought the clouds looked really good. just about all of it did really... Its an amazing thing when the Orbx ground scenery is the most detracting part
  13. As you can see, Landclass files are badly needed within FSW, (just as required for FSX and P3D!!!) and once installed...everything looks like any other ESP-based with ORBX Global and OLC Landclass installed. ORBX (Hack) OLC_Europe and Pilot's FSX2010 Global (Hack) Custom Mesh running in theses screen grabs: Here is just out of ENVA, Norway...
  14. I've had a bit of free time this week due to certain world events you're all familiar with... Uploading these to the Avsim library some time tomorrow, hopefully! N77NJ - operated by National Jet out of FLL I started playing with the metallic layer that @Wickedbacon92 developed. N354CL - With Clay Lacy Aviation...maybe one of the most famous Learjet operators out there. The gold stripe and N-numbers are metallic on this one as well. If this scheme looks familiar, it's probably because you've seen Jeff Trozzo's repaint paint of the same aircraft from a few years ago. But he never updated it for the new model, so I made my own version (all original work). N360AY N104PH - my favorite of this bunch.
  15. Flight Sim World currently has a March Madness sale going on with FSW 68% off and almost all DLC on sale too. http://store.steampowered.com/app/389280/Flight_Sim_World/

  17. Users will be able to take on maintenance jobs in the latest update to Career Mode in Flight Sim World. Dovetail Games announced the update, which adds a number of adjustments to missions, earlier this evening. As well as bug fixes, a variety of new features have been added including maintenance jobs, increased potential numbers of passengers and weights of cargo for some jobs, and changes to weather conditions for some missions.
  18. TDS will soon release an update for addons which allow for use of both TDS GTN and WT GNS (the new early access version in the Marketplace). At the moment, addons like the Carenado PC12, Black Square Analog KingAir, and Blackbird (Milviz) C310, which use allow for a selection of GNS or GTN units, will not work completely. Both units will fight for control over the autopilot. Addons such as the FSW C414 are unaffected by these new GNS units because FSW has defined a set of avionics per model. Here's my screenshot showing the TDS GTN 750Xi next to the WT GNS 430. At the moment no variables are shown on the GNS430. It may be possible, later, to have a secondary GPS source with populated data (I asked Matt from WT about this). In this example I would use the GNS430 for additional navigational reference like selecting direct a fix to gather distance/track info. That being said the GNS430 will still function as a COMM2/NAV2 for the time being. Additionally, in this specific Carenado example, it is quite possible that Carenado will adapt a GTN 750Xi/650Xi combination instead of the 750/430. GNSlvarsPC12 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr
  19. A lovely flight from @Stoopy's O19 to KRHV in NorCal My C414 is wearing a lovely new paint scheme, made by 'Nerbulus' (and edited by me) - https://flightsim.to/file/44596/cessna-c414-chancellor-n2744x O19 departure was a little tight even with my lightly loaded C414 Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Climbing above the marine layer Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Heading up to FL210 for our 225 mi journey to Reid Hillview Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Pretty certain this is Lassen Peak (and active dome volcano) Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-8 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I pulled the power back a bit but I'm still getting 250 knots over the ground Untitled-13 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Checking the RHV weather and selecting an approach Untitled-16 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Bay area... 20. ...and what a difference custom mesh adds to FSW! I now have the same level of LOD as in P3D and FSX. This is getting easier and easier, lol... Here's how you place it into your FSX Scenery.cfg file. You will need to make some changes in the numbering, etc...as this is following some other custom scenery I have already placed in. You know on what drive you placed the Pilot's FSX for global 2010 mesh....and so just edit my drive letter, and you will be good to go. : [Area.132] Title=@IDS_AREA127_LocalMeshes Local=H:\FSGX2010\LocalMeshes Layer=132 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.133] Title=@IDS_AREA128_NAM Local=H:\FSGX2010\NAM Layer=133 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.134] Title=@IDS_AREA129_OCE Local=H:\FSGX2010\OCE Layer=134 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.135] Title=@IDS_AREA130_EUR Local=H:\FSGX2010\EUR Layer=135 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.136] Title=@IDS_AREA131_CSA Local=H:\FSGX2010\CSA Layer=136 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.137] Title=@IDS_AREA132_ASI Local=H:\FSGX2010\ASI Layer=137 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.138] Title=@IDS_AREA133_ANT Local=H:\FSGX2010\ANT Layer=138 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE [Area.139] Title=@IDS_AREA134_AFR Local=H:\FSGX2010\AFR Layer=139 Active=TRUE Required=FALSE Here the mesh working at KORS...and with lovely boat traffic all around:
  21. My night shots suck..lol, so...only day shots from now on, lol Here's two from a flight over an hour ago...British Columbia really comes out well, in FSW's orb's global whatever edition... The second shot has me right over Abbotsford, BC Any shot taken with FSW, is with all sliders set to Ultra, and never set lower. BTW, try doing an aggresive side-slip to lose altitude quickly...in FSW, what a hoot...in how well it is handled, and the sounds of the wind coming from ACCU-FEEL when doing so... I was over Abbotsford at 12, 000 or so, when I decided to land there...and basically floated down in a full control, side-slip. Dropped beautifully with minimal forward gain, and again the wind outside the canopy...was ace!
  22. It is pretty amazing, no more 2D clouds.
