So I have been flying in and out of Japan with a lot of flights, but so far I only own a couple of sceneries that allow me to do so, and those are Narita International Airport and Fukushima Airport by Wing Creation Inc., and Kansai International Airport by Aerosim. But I haven't seen any other scenery for japan, so I was wondering if there is more to be found? And I am not just looking for airports but also mesh and textures for the surounding scenery. I don't mind if it is payware or freeware, all I want is that it can be ported into P3Dv4 and that it is of decent quality

So, at over 2000 nmi away from Athens, the Islander won't make it in one hop. I've said before I've no idea of the ferry range of the winning Islander in the London to Sydney Air Race 1969, and even if I knew the range, it would be a problem having the Flight1 BN-2 behaving as per a ferry configuration. The maximum range more or less gives us the destination of Diyarbakir Airport (LTCC) which is also a military base in south eastern Turkey. The weather is set to be good so off we go. Taxiing out at LGAV. Lined up and clear for takeoff. Hope we packed the sandwiches & refreshments! Settled into the cruise. 9-10000 feet altitude allows me to forget about the throttles and leave them wide open giving the required 20 inches of pressure. Flying past Mount Erciyes, I believe..😖 I would have thought there should have been snow at the summit.. (FSX NOTAM, perhaps the landclass would have displayed it had I been closer??) Approaching LTCC to join left downwind for RWY34 No mistaking this is an airbase.. Not a bad touchdown IMHO of course..😜 Ok then, ready for a Turkish bath.. The next leg will take us into Iran..

Vueling at the Biarritz Pays Basque Airport...more Spanish then French Located in Anglet, France extremely close to the Spanish border. Aerobask's great freeware Robin, have not flown one of these in a sim since a Robin I flew in MSFS. Also the Spad, aircraft of Eddie Rickenbackers Hat in the Ring squadron, greatest American Ace in WW1 who remembers the Allies paying tribute to the Red Baron and dropping wreaths in the age of air chivalry, also practiced by some German fliers in WW2, described in the book by TD Calnan, survivor of WWII's POW camps and Colditz castle. Last is the Swift Motorglider out of Marana Arizona near Tuscon. A real Swift was based there that I was invited to purchase but I could not find a hangar to rent anywhere within 100 miles of my home in Phoenix. Last, we had a foot of snow in the Phoenix Metro area in Scottsdale, out by 156th street not too far from Fountain Hills. I always reckoned the A380 would look better done up as an Orca. This is how I spent the majority of my Sunday evening, embroiled in DXTBmp and paint.net. To make matters worse (initially) the paintkit files were photoshop ones. They have to be flipped before being saved as (in my case .dds files DXT5 format). I've learned a little bit more about repainting which is good! Anyhow here she is, the flagship of Orcasaurus Airlines, G-BIFT: "To Cover the World, You Need Big Units!" Although XP doesn't have the best cloud appearances, they do have some of the coolest cloud formations. I've seen something like this in real life. Actually it was in the cirrus vision jet, my first ride where we climbed to VFR on top and the clouds sloped across our flight path. Anyway I snapped a few more enroute photos. This is the first video in the Hawaii series. My desire to record this flight came when I found the gtatuito photoreal scenery at hawaii-photoreal.com. It is a fantastic scenario, really impressive and rich in detail. Congratulations to the flight-sim-jewels.com staff for the excellent work. On this flight we depart from XXX on the island of Maui, skirting the great volcano along the shore and following the course of the mountain range. Crossing the sea, we arrive at the beautiful blue shores of Molokai and we conclude this first video, still in the air, crossing the sea again towards Oahu.

Some of the screenshots are a bit dark (of course!) but a full screen view may help.. Despite the weird issue with winds aloft making the plane uncontrollable at altitude and thus having to spend most of the flight just over 3000 feet, it appears that in the sim anyway - the idea of a Messerschmitt Me-264 Amerika Bomber reaching the USA from the Azores and returning to Lajes AB without refuelling is possible. Good job the Amerika Bomber never got beyond prototypes, and the war ended. I do however suspect that such an aircraft would have had a hard time penetrating any US air defences at that time. Here's my photo recon flight (6000 lbs of cameras loaded into the bomb bay). Why 6000 lbs? Because that represents the weight of "something else unthinkable" to see if this simulator experiment works out. Lining up and taking off in the wee hours at Lajes AB. Ideally we would like a 3 mile long runway please! Just made it! Many hours later, passing by Nantucket I believe. KJFK Verrazzano Narrows Bridge Statue of Liberty High rise buildings in Manhattan Back to the Azores.. close the camera bay. Moonlight over the Atlantic There's the runway except I should land at the other end.. 9% fuel remaining. Here we go.. Phew! 8% fuel remaining.. Given the issues I had with the weather and thus not being able to fly up around 20000 feet, then I was quite surprised to have some fuel left in the tanks.. I'm not sure if the crew oxygen would have lasted for the whole trip though, had I been able to fly at altitude. Cheers!

Some cool Xplane11 freeware, I love them both, the Falcon 20 has been rarely touched by our hobby Played a bit with rolling the F-15 as you will see. I was surprised the shot turned out especially because I did the roll from spot view, which is a tad harder ! John

Comparing and contrasting two birds with two different missions, both freeware that work in Xplane11.31. I like just having the Falcon 20 because no one has modeled it to any degree, and the Falcon 10 and 20 were used by IASCO, the Japan Airlines training school that supported my old home airport, Napa airport, for many years before they switched to King Airs. IASCO's commitment to flight training allowed Napa to become the popular destination it is today with the Jet Set, and indirectly launched my career in the hotel industry by putting us on the international scene. One of their pilots was a judge in my Lutheran school science fair, and I did a project on the Rogallo wing vs. the conventional wing. I made a little Rogallo glider out of nothing more than Elmer's glue, toothpicks and paper to prove its viability as a potential lifting body in space, due to its unique stall characteristics yet low drag characteristics given its shape. My project, which unlike many kids I did on my own without my parents help (although my father was a physicist, he was the other type of physicist, a health physicist, not an aerodynamics genius, but he was a genius and loving man every other way and he taught us everything he knew). My little Rogallo glider which I can still make to perfection today had a glide ratio comparable to the real Rogallo wing. My church school principal let me launch it from our organ balcony and it could glide more than 75 feet to the altar, at about a four to one glide ratio. My project won first place, along with a project of a good friend of mine still today, in my grammar school science fair. My project went on to win third prize in the public and private school California State Science fair and I was honored to do a presentation before a panel of judges like Billy Elliott. It was the highlight of many more highlights to come in my life, going to San Francisco and being on a Statewide stage with media coverage, my fifteen minutes of fame or one of many by happenstance that many of us have had. The IASCO judge who helped award me first place invited me to fly with him, he said I deserved it, but it immediately made my schoolmates jealous and knowing my school choir group and I were flying later that year at the end of our planned US tour, I decided to wait until that DC-10 flight from ORD to SFO. The other aircraft in this group of pics I call the snowman, the Ercoupe, if you have ever flown one in real life like I have with the windows down, you will know your hands freeze to the point of being glued to the yoke, lol... Damn, I just realized how much I used to pirate software, but I'm out of that life now. I wanna know if there's a good a320 OR a330 Or a340 OR a380 for Xplane 11 that is freeware. Thank you guys, you are an amazing community!
