  2. Hi, Now included in the Reality XP GNS 530/430 V2 FltSim v2.3.12 and Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch v2.4.16! Mid Continent MD41-1484W Annunciator Control Unit Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS CONTROL UNIT The rxpGpsAnnun.cab includes two gauges offered as addition to the GTN and GNS V2, the Mid Continent WAAS annunciation panel and the Mid Continent TAWS control unit. They are released as XML gauges, so that it makes it easy for third party vendors to integrate the same annunciation panels as-is in their aircraft, or using the same XML code when displaying in an EFIS for example. Both gauges install automatically to P3D4 and P3D3 using the GNS V2 and GTN existing add-on.xml file. It requires editing the panel.cfg file to add them to the actual panel though. For manual Installation: Prefered method is using the Prepar3d addon xml file: 1) copy the file rxpGpsAnnun.cab to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\Gauges" 2) copy and paste the following to a new file named 'add-on.xml' <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="3,3" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>Reality XP GPS Annunciation</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>Reality XP Gauges</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Gauges</Category> <Name>Reality XP GPS Annunciation</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\Gauges</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> 3) copy the add-on.xml file into: "Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Reality XP Gauges" Alternatively, copy the rxpGpsAnnun.cab file in the simulator Gauges folder. Gauge specs: rxpGpsAnnun!TAWS,0,0,350,100 rxpGpsAnnun!WAAS,0,0,350,100 Known limitations: - Requires Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch v2.5 minimum. - Requires Reality XP GNS 530/430 V2 v2.4.1 minimum. PS: For the old-timers, they used to be included in our GNS legacy, but weren't included yet in the GTN or the GNS V2 gauge file. I've decided to reboot these gauges and offer them as XML gauges, so that it makes it easy for third party vendors to integrate the same annunciation panels as-is in their aircraft, or using the same XML code when displaying in an EFIS for example.

Enhanced: GUI Panel Assistant and GTN Settings Panel. Enhanced: Environment variables updated (see User's Manual) Enhanced: User's Manual 'Custom Sim Variables' and 'Troubleshooting' sections. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. v2.4.4 New: Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) selections: WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS and GAGAN extending availability of LPV approaches worldwide. New: Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) related settings. New: Create and load per-aircraft Checklists (see User's Manual). Enhanced: Switching OBS mode should keep DTK stable. Enhanced: Additional power sources setting (electric buses and generators/alternators). Enhanced: Undocumented 'GNSOBSTCL' environment variable sets path to the obstacle db file. Enhanced: Further corrections to path redirections using the environment variables. Enhanced: Further corrections to the canonical modeldef.xml file. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections. Fixed: GNS Settings Panel could CTD on some computers. Fixed: GNS add-on menu could CTD on some computers. About SBAS: Systems and approaches availability depends on the navigation database. Display the last GNS AUX page, select SBAS Selection then enable each system. About AFMS settings: The GNS supports specific enablement features configured during installation in a real aircraft. These are regrouped in the configuration panel under Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) and allow selecting V-Flag Declutter, disabling CDI key etc... v2.4.3 New: Support for Prepar3D V4.3 autopilot. Enhanced: Gauge graphics and renderer corrections. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. v2.4.2 Fixed: Keyboard shortcuts could fail registering some commands properly. Enhanced: ModelDef.xml updated with GUIDs, groups and corrections. Enhanced: GUI Panel Assistant auto-detected gauges and panel.cfg backup handling. Enhanced: Gauge Tooltips corrections. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. BREAKING CHANGE: Published Knobs L:vars change to per-unit only (was per-device/unit). We've further improved the auto-detection algorithm in the panel assistant in order to try refining the potential candidates found in the panel.cfg file. In addition, we've fixed a number of issues introduced in the previous version (2.4.1). The installed canonical ModelDef.xml also benefits from additional comments, GUIDs and groups in order to help 3rd party aircraft vendors getting up to speed with the integration of the Reality XP GNS V2 into their aircraft. Working on the modeldef.xml revealed shortcomings with some of our published L:vars. Previous versions used to publish per-type/per-unit vars meant to offer the means for 3rd party aircraft vendors to sync the 3D knobs rotation with the 2D gauge. However, this granularity proved to be unecessary so we've reduced the number of L:vars and now publish only per-unit number vars (rxp.GNS_1.knob_powr etc...) v2.4.1 New: Added support to fail RAIM check via L:vars. New: Added discrete inputs L:vars. New: Added canonical ModelDef.xml file for third party aircraft vendors. New: 'GPS_TERRAIN_BUTTON' -> 'TAWS INHIBIT' (Use Simulator GPS Command). Enhanced: Interactions with the included Mid Continent MD41-1484 WAAS Annunciator gauge. Enhanced: Interactions with the included Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS Control Unit gauge. Enhanced: TAWS auto-detected limits are properly saved in the ini file. Enhanced: Smarter GUI Panel Assistant auto-detection and filters. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. Discrete inputs L:Vars The GNS V2 FltSim now offers the same capabilities as the X-Plane version with these new L:vars. They permit external device control like in the real units. The GNS V2 now accepts 3 inputs: remote CDI, remote OBS and remote TAWS inhibit. This function is notably show cased in action with the included Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS Control Unit gauge! ModelDef.xml This version installs a canonical modeldef.xml file so that third party vendors can get started quickly integrating the GNS in their virtual cockpits. (see User's Manual for more details). v2.4 New: LinkObs connects GPS to OBS source, either HSI (with LinkHsi) or VOR (AutoNavSource). New: Autopilot coupling and tracking compatible with host simulator simulation rate (up to 128x). v2.3.12 New: Mid Continent MD41-1484 WAAS Annunciator gauge.* New: Mid Continent MD41-1028 TAWS Control Unit gauge.* New: Autopilot compatible with all previous P3D3 versions. New: GNS Hardware Driver compatible with 64bits simulators** Enhanced: User's Manual renamed to: "Reality XP GNS V2 User's Manual (FltSim).pdf". Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Installer cleans up older manual and shortcuts left from previous installations. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. * Installs P3D4/3 add-on.xml file automatically, more info: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\Gauges" ** The installer includes the latest PFC DLL 32/64bits but the feature requires a separate GNS Hardware Driver product license to function. Mid Continent Gauges: This might be a good time for updating the panels in the Official Panel Configuration Thread with these 2 new gauges! LinkObs: With the previous versions, the option used to only connect the HSI OBS to the GPS. New in v2.4, when using the LinkObs option, the OBS source is either the HSI OBS when the GPS device is connected to the HSI (LinkHsi option), or the VOR1/2 OBS when the GPS device is connected to the VOR (in this case VOR1 or VOR2 depends on the AutoNavSource setting). NB: FltSim VOR1 OBS and HSI OBS are same source, same simvar, unlike X-Plane.
  4. Hi, I'm pleased to announce v2.4.5 is now released! It is available either via Plugin | Reality XP GNS | Check Updates... or directly from our web site. v2.4.5 New: Additional per device datarefs for third party integration. New: Additional 'RXP' failure vars to supplement missing defaults (XP9). Fixed: Power-On Self Test values (POST). Fixed: Power-On Self Test Flight Director Test sequence (POST). Fixed: Removed TAWS settings for any GNS 4XX devices (non-applicable). Fixed: TCAS sound missing when using the GNS in TERR PROX mode. Fixed: Bug in the Garmin trainer own code (source of CTD). Enhanced: Environment variables updated (see User's Manual) Enhanced: User's Manual 'Custom Datarefs' and 'Troubleshooting' sections. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. v2.4.4 New: Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) selections: WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS and GAGAN extending availability of LPV approaches worldwide. New: Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) related settings. New: Create and load per-aircraft Checklists (see User's Manual). New: HSI CDI/GSI scaling factor (as in FltSim version). Enhanced: Switching OBS mode should keep DTK stable. Enhanced: Additional power sources setting (electric buses 1 to 6). Enhanced: Undocumented 'GNSOBSTCL' environment variable sets path to the obstacle db file. Enhanced: Further corrections to path redirections using the environment variables. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections. Fixed: GNS Settings Panel could CTD on some computers. About SBAS: Systems and approaches availability depends on the navigation database. Display the last GNS AUX page, select SBAS Selection then enable each system. About AFMS settings: The GNS supports specific enablement features configured during installation in a real aircraft. These are regrouped in the configuration panel under Aircraft Flight Manual Supplement (AFMS) and allow selecting V-Flag Declutter, disabling CDI key etc... v2.4.3 Enhanced: Plugin graphics and renderer corrections. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. v2.4.2.1 Fixed: Mouse not working in 3D and VR in previous update. v2.4.2 New: Settings | Gauge | Advanced | Link Simulator GPS Waypoints (updates XPlane GPS/FMS with next legs for EFIS display) New: Settings | Gauge | Advanced | Auto-Save Active Route (.fms) (saves the active route to fms format) Fixed: VR Windows general handling. Enhanced: VR Windows display like 2D windows (no title, no edges). Enhanced: Plugin menu updates properly in VR mode. Enhanced: Knobs turn more naturally with left/right mouse buttons. Enhanced: Gauge Tooltips corrections. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. The GNS V2 inherits two new features first introduced in our FltSim version: Link Simulator GPS Waypoints: continuously updates the stock GPS/FMS route with the next waypoints (requires Master Device). This feature is designed to displaying GNS route on EFIS displays. XPlane limitations: user waypoint ident or waypoint not in the XP database display as encoded lat_lon format. Auto-Save Active Route: save the active route to "X-Plane\Output\FMS plans\Reality XP GNS1 Route.fms" (and GNS2 for unit 2). This is a v11 or v3 compliant fms file (depending on your XP version) with the entire active route (not just the next waypoints). The device saves the route whenever it changes so that the file contains the latest used. This update also fixes the VR window handling issues encountered with our first VR version (2.5.1). v2.4.1 New: Supports X-Plane 11.20 VR mode. New: Added support to fail RAIM Check via datarefs. New: Added discrete inputs datarefs. New: Additional commands (discrete inputs like in GTN XPlane): 'CDI_SOURCE', 'OBS_MODE' and 'TAWS_INHIBIT'. Fixed: GNS overrides A/P and HSI when loaded with some aircraft (no reload needed). Enhanced: TAWS auto-detected limits are properly saved in the ini file. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. X-Plane 11.20 VR: XPlane has known limitations which you should know: resizing the window with 2 green bars changes the definition, not the size (makes the graphics pixelated), therefore, resize the GNS window 1 green bar at a time instead. Also, XPlane SDK permits restoring the window size only and not its position. A/P and HSI override: This should fix the issue with some aircraft (Carenado, etc...) where the GNS was not able to connect to the A/P and the HSI when initially loaded, and for which the interim fix was to unselect then reselect the GNS from the menu. v2.4.0 New: LinkObs connects GPS to OBS source, either HSI (with LinkHsi) or VOR (AutoNavSource). New: Autopilot coupling and tracking compatible with host simulator simulation rate (up to 128x). v2.3.12 New: Popup Windows compatible with the latest XP11.20+ VR. New: SHIFT+RIGHT Click the GPS top edge opens the GUI Settings (like FltSim version). New: SHIFT+LEFT Click the GPS top edge resizes the popup window (like FltSim version). New: Added 'Master Device' setting to the GUI Settings (like FltSim version). New: GNS Hardware Driver compatible with 64bits simulators* Fixed: GPS Master Device state not saved to the settings file (take 2). Enhanced: The plugin log file name is now "Documents\rxpGNS2.xpl.log" for consistency. Enhanced: User's Manual renamed to: "Reality XP GNS V2 User's Manual (XPlane).pdf". Enhanced: Installer cleans up older manual and shortcuts left from previous installations. Enhanced: User's Manual corrections and additional information. Enhanced: Further stability and performance enhancements. * The installer includes the latest PFC DLL 32/64bits but the feature requires a separate GNS Hardware Driver product license to function.

  15. Just a quick question for the more advanced panel editors on here. Have any off you guys taken on the challenge of using these new V2 Rxp 530 units with the Aerosoft Diamond DA20-100 'Katana' 4X? I fell in love with that aircraft when I first purchased it so many years ago for FSX, having it in P3D with a working RXP 530 would be a blessing... However it's coding is far to complicated for my rookie panel editing "skills". Any thoughts?
  16. Anyone able to fit the GNS430 into the Carenado Cessna Caravan HD?
  17. A2A PA24 Comanche w/ RXP V2 GPS 400 I didn't realize until today the latest FSX/P3D version now includes the GPS 400. This is special for me as I prefer the 400 to the 430 in the A2A PA24 in order to full utilize the Narco VHF 1/2 sets. Unfortunately, I'm unable to get VC setup correct in P3DV4.1. Does anybody know how to accomplish this?
  18. Hi, quick note to let you know v2.3.4 is now live! You can now use the Settings Panel | Check Updates button, and get the release notes and download the installer. In short: New: Support for Prepar3D v4.1 New: Link Simulator GPS Waypoints option synchronizes GNS route to FS GPS/EFIS. New: Use Legacy Mouse Knobs option offers left+right+middle buttons control. New: Adjust Brightness option to change per-instance bezel brightness in the cockpit. New: Offset Brightness option to change per-instance screen brightness in the cockpit. New: Panel Assistant 'scale' factor to change popup windows default size. Here are some notes about the new features: - new per-instance settings to adjust the brightness of the bezel, and to offset the brightness of the screen independently. Some VC are not natively designed for the GNS V2 gauge, and these settings helps the gauge look and feel. "per-instance" means you can set these up for a gauge in the VC, set these up differently for another gauge in the VC, and again for any other popup window! It is quite flexible! - 'scaling' option in the assistant when creating popup windows. Although it might not be useful as-is for the GNS V2, it is paramount when trying to stack 2x GTN 750 on a small monitor. Since we've been adding this option to the GTN, we've also added it to the GNS V2! The assistant let's you choose 1:1, ¾, ½ and ¼ scales.
  19. Hi, quick note to let you know v2.3.3 is now live! You can now use the Settings Panel | Check Updates button, and get the release notes and download the installer.

  21. Hi, I'm pleased to announce v2.3.7 is now released! It is available either via Plugin | Reality XP GNS | Check Updates... or directly from our web site. 23. Hmm ... Okay, I found the process of working out the buttons an knobs an interesting challenge ... So in that respect it was worthwhile, however you would do your customers an enormous favor by documenting that, since I did not see it in the install doc and I in fact just looked at it before typing this reply ... :) I still cannot make the autopilot "nav mode" work with any of my planes, and I think I have tried every option in .ini file that seems even vaguely related ... Regards, Jeff
  24. Hi, quick note to let you know v2.3.4 is now live! You can now use the Settings Panel | Check Updates button, and get the release notes and download the installer. We're now working on the next update with support for pop-out windows on XP11! NB: There is a jump in version numbers to keep in sync with our FltSim version.
  25. Hi, This message to let you know we are working on our next XPlane and FltSim updates which are going to be offered as RC (release candidates) soon. What is addresses so far: - GNS V2 and GTN: added working IDENT mode. It overrides the NAV1/2 audio panel while active, while still permitting to change NAV1/2 audio selection in the GTN. It also work with GTN+GNS V2 on the same panel! - GNS V2: avionics bus / battery bus problem introduced in the last update. - GTN: XPDR reverting to 1200 during takeoff. - GTN FltSim: make popleft= working with the SHIFT key (left click = touchscreen, SHIFT+left click = popleft) We're also looking at way to mitigate the FltSim full screen window minimizing when opening the settings panel or the aircraft assistant. Should you think of any other thing we've missed in the list, please feel free to discuss and remind us!
