  1. Hi, As many of us are aware, one of the settings in the Nvidia Control Panel for FSX and P3D is the Power Management Mode that is typically set to "Prefer Maximum Performance", but today I stumbled across a similar setting that LM recommends for P3D in their basic troubleshooting where you configure the graphics card e.g. "Use the appropriate video card software to configure the graphic card’s control of Prepar3D. For NVIDIA graphics cards, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, select Manage 3D settings, and set the Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor. You can also set Prepar3D.exe’s preferred graphics processor directly under the Program Settings tab under Manage 3D settings." Now when I went and looked for this particular setting on my system, I could not find it as per LMs advice. Its nowhere to be found in the Nvidia CP. Instead I found it via the Windows Settings>System>Display>Graphics Settings/Graphics Performance Preference. From here you can select a specific application e.g. P3D.exe and then the choices are System Default, Power saving and High performance. I discovered mine was set to "Default". So my question is, are these two options (highlighted in blue above) the same or do they perform different tasks? I assume they are slightly different given one is set to Prefer Max Performance, but the other not set to High. Anyone know the difference and impact this has on the sim? Side Note: I did read up and it appears the reason why the former option mentioned by LM is not available from the Nvidia CP directly is because this setting only shows if you have multiple GPUs installed. Thoughts/comments on these two settings? Cheers

  3. Hi everyone, recently I bought P3D so I could fly the FSLabs A320. However Im having issues with the FPS. My first thought was that my CPU and/or my GPU were not good enough for P3D, but when I looked at my task manager I found out that both my GPU and my CPU were not even working at 50%. I really want to enjoy P3D cause the FSLabs A320 is the best A320 on the market right now. My FPS are between 10 and 15. I think P3D is not taking advantage of my pc specifications. Do you have any ideas of what I can do to increase my performance in this simulator? I also fly with Xplane 11 and my FPS are between 25 and 30 with a GPU workload of 95-99% I dont know what to do with P3D. Please help me. PC Specifications i7-4790 3.60 GHz Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 RAM 8GB
  4. Hey ! I don't really know where to add this thread so feel free to move it if needed. I'm experiencing issues with P3Dv4 GPU and CPU behavior, actually I never paid attention to it before but when I fly over heavy sceneries or with a heavy on framerate Plane, both of my GPU and CPU don't run at 100%. My CPU cores are also not working equally, like the CPU0 work way harder than the others. (All tests are made without Vsync obviously, so framerate is not limited) CPU : I7 4790K without OC GPU : MSI GTX970 4Go The problem might be coming from my CPU since when I fly without any autogen, Vsync still off my GPU run at 100% with 140/150 FPS. Autogen must be adding a big load to my CPU and as soon as I load my sim with big addons I got this weird behavior. AffinityMask has been set on 0 in the .CFG as I saw it on forums, but I don't see any changes. Here at TAMPA with Carenado PC12, 40fps, GPU chilling at 44% and CPU with only core0 working at nearly 100%, all other cores are chilling too. I don't really know what to do at this point, Any idea ? Have a great week.
  5. Hello there fellow simmers. I seek advice from you all about which upgrade routes I should take. Current system: Mobo: ASUS Maximus VII Formula Z97 CPU: Intel 4790k Devil's Canyon RAM: 16GB G.Skill PC3 DDR1600 (Might soon move this up to 32GB) GPU: MSI GTX670 x2 in SLI, 2GB RAM each Hard Drive: Samsung 850 Evo 1TB SSD My system is starting to show its age with my graphics card setup. I last built this system in 2014. I was thinking is it worth it to upgrade to something nice like a GTX 1080? Should I go with one GPU or is SLI worth it? Or should I just wait until I do another full system upgrade (Mobo, RAM, CPU etc) Main purposes of this system: everyday computing, work, Photo Editing, some HD Video (not much 4K), and to be able to X Plane with no lag at max settings :D. I don't need to bankrupt myself to get the latest and greatest for any benchmarking whatsoever. Thanks all for your time.
  6. Hello, I'm curious what the community's options and experiences are with open air vs reference blower style Graphics Cards. I'm looking to buy a GTX 1080Ti for my custom flight sim / gaming PC, and would love to learn more about the differences. Best, Leon
